Delicious breakfast and great value. Always come to rest a while as a nice breakfast/lunch treat and it never disappoints.

I have been using the cafe for over 50 years!!!! That says a lot regarding the this appraisal I use the cafe on average three times every week when I am local and I travel 20,000 miles a year and live on cafe food. It's freshly cooked and the best value and taste in my opinion. Can't understand some of the poor reviews as all I can think off is maybe an off time or they just don't understand the cafe environment. Photos to follow.....

I go in there with a few friends regular and Barry the owner is a friendly person and the food is very good, fresh and tasty at a very competitive price, Don't expect the Royal Hotel but expect a good grease spoon Breakfast !

It’s a bit “greasy spoon “ but that’s not always a bad thing. Cheap and cheerful but coffees are extra which bumps the prices up

I have lived in the area all my life. This small transport cafe has always been there.i remember thinking that when the local bypass opened in 1966 it wouldn't last long, but it has. My son, home for the weekend, took me for Sunday breakfast. It was all you could imagine a transport cafe to be. Had the No4 breakfast. (The No5 and Gold Star offerings were out of our league) Great food at a reasonable price in very unpretentious but fun surrounding. Well done.

Stopped in here for a fry up one Sunday morning, cheap and cheerful but well worth a visit! Different levels of breakfast and the most expensive one is only £6.90 for two of everything.

Rest-a-While has been in Keynsham forever... it's one of the most notable places parked across from the rugby club and on the way into Keynsham. Therefore it's ideally situated for its clientele. However as a non-rugby attending, non-trucker, I have to say I love this place. The meals are really well priced, sizeable portions, and of traditional style (breakfasts, chips, that sort of thing). Recently proprietor started selling steak... It was fairly cheap so didn't know what to think. We tried it and it was gorgeous! Huge, and tasty. The tea is served just as I like it, and they have a nice selection of cold drinks. It is, however, a greasy spoon so if you bring kids, it's right near a road so you'll need to be super attentive. It's not really a kid type of place although I do see quite a few! All in all, a favourite place of mine and if I have breakfast I try and come here. If they're closed I go to Cafe Creme, but Rest-a-While is really my first port of call every time.

The RAW cafe is a trip back in time, serving the best sort of transport cafe food. No frills, the standard formica tables and copies of the day's red-tops, but for a hearty all-day breakfast probably the best in the area. A limited menu offers a range of set breakfasts and the RAW passes the test of a proper breakfast with real fried potato rather than the appalling American substitute, the 'hash brown' (which is neither a hash nor brown), although the latter are available if you choose to spoil your breakfast with them! Tomatoes are fresh and properly griddled, not just shown the flame so they are burned on the surface and raw inside, and the black pudding has that slightly perfumed flavour that marks out quality. Bread and butter is extra as is tea or coffee but a breakfast that sets you up for the day can be had for under £7. At weekends the service can be slightly slow as there are lots of customers from the sports' ground opposite and on the Sunday I last visited there was a bikers' club filling up before a trip. The, I assume, owner does cook each meal freshly so there was bit of a wait which he could alleviate by taking down orders and lining them up rather than cooking for each customer in turn. Nonetheless a rarity in these days - an old style transport cafe serving good value 'greasy spoon' food, and that is meant as a compliment. Not a place for vegetarians although they do an excellent cheese on toast!

We ordered from Five Guys in Bath via Just-Eat and paid £45 for 3 burgers and 2 fries and it arrived late and stone cold and of very poor quality and included far fewer fries than we used to get when we regularly ordered from them. We stopped regularly ordering because of poor quality and issues with the food and timing alongside very high prices which should be associated with higher quality and service, but this experience confirms our original decision to stop ordering from Five Guys Bath and so we won't anymore, there are lots better burgers and fries in Bath available for far less money.

I was so excited to try these macaroons as I have an obsession with them. From previous reviews I was prepared for the expense and macaroons tend to be pricey anyways but I was disappointed with how dry they were. There were a variety of flavours and colours were beautiful but I was shocked with how dry and flavourless they were. I’ve had macaroons from many places and can say these are sadly the worst.

I’m a travelling Australian and got excited about some home-style food but this was so bad. The rice clumped together like it was days old, the kale was discoloured and the serving size was pitiful. Could have made something much better myself for far less than the £15 I paid for this and a mediocre chai. Service wasn’t even friendly. I’m only giving it 2 stars because I had a juice there a few days ago and it was pretty decent - otherwise it would have been a one. And - on the plus side it didn’t taste terrible but the rice was a bit suss.
