Restaurant at Glenmorangie House in Highland

We stayed in the hotel this weekend as a birthday getaway for my husband and decided to eat here as well. The setting is lovely, we started with a whisky tasting with a knowledgeable young lady. Everyone is treated as a group, so we had our tasting together and went through to dine together on one big table. The group style dining was quite noval but very enjoyable. The meal itself was lovely. We had canapes to start then we had soup. This was simply delicious and my husband claimed it was the best soup he'd ever had. The 'fish' course was a slight let down as my husband is allergic to fish. I felt instead of crafting a course for us, they had simply made a fish course and cooked a bit of chicken instead. It just didn't feel like a cohesive dish. The main course of melting beef and pudding of gingerbread Panna cotta was delicious.Our hostess paired whiskies with every course (wine pairing was also on offer) and my husband reports this was done expertly and greatly added to the experience. Finally we all retired to the fireplace for tea and coffee.Highly recommended and we would be back if in the area again.

We were first impressed with the interesting appetizer of seared scallops served with pea puree. If you haven't tried it - you are missing out! Wild game was the main course, and it didn't disappoint. Our server suggested a lovely cabernet that paired perfectly with the venison. We are already planning on another visit and will look forward to another splendid meal at Glenmorangie House.

We stayed at the house for 3 nights and every night was a different meal and every one was sheer heaven. Hands down some the the very best food on our trip.

Almorzamos en esta maravillosa casa histórica con sus jardines maravillosos. Como cabe esperar de un lugar de este nombre, tuvimos un maravilloso servicio y la comida era maravillosa. La mesa daba a los jardines, con unas vistas preciosas. La lista de vinos con una selección maravillosa para la mayoría de los bolsillos. Sin duda recomendaría este lugar.

Tuvimos una fantástica cena. El haggis es la mejor que he tenido. El servicio era perfecto. Esta es la mejor cena que tuve en Escocia. No puedo recomendar lo suficiente.

david, ronny und ihr team sind geniale gastgeber, wir dinierten hier vier abende auf höchstem niveau, sterneniveau, sellerie risotto, hummer, der am mittag aus dem meer kam, reh und lamm, sensationelles schotch whisky souffle, nach dem dinner geniesst man einen glenmorangie signet am brennenden kamin, es gibt 9 zimmer im haus, daher hat alles hier einen privaten charakter, wir danken für grossartige momente und können es wärmstens empfehlen!

Having just moved my daughter from Dunfermline to Tain unpacked and cleaned everything !!!!! headed out for a coffee to the Glenmorangie House Hotel however, after walking past the doorway of the carvery on Sunday lunchtime my eyes couldn't believe it it looked amazing every meat and the desserts omg !!!!!!!!!!!!!! well the coffee was quickly drank and we asked if we could be booked in!! it was three for Sunday carvery a three course meal,it was the best i have ever had !!! starters were awesome salmon, prawns ,soup, pate, terrine salad etc then the main course every meat e.g chicken, gammon, beef etc, then the desserts honestly it was without doubt great cheesecake, cherry bakewell, chocolate torte, fruit salad, profiteroles and all cooked impeccably!!!! well done the chefs that was amazing ., waiting staff were good some a little young but you can see very polite and in training. Cant wait to come back think its this weekend have to make sure my daughter is ok lol x
