I have eaten from/at this restaurant on more occasions than I can count - NEVER AGAIN! My delivery order was missing the Basmati rice, so I called the restaurant. Basically, I was accused of lying!! When I asked to speak to the manager to complain, I was told that I was speaking to the owner and that my custom was no longer wanted. Utterly shocking and disgraceful, in equal measures. I wonder if the owner believes in karma.

We have ordered "take away" food numerous times from this small but excellent Indian restaurant. Each dish ordered has been a stand out, so I cannot recommend any particular dishes. The interior is lovely, so I suppose that in house dining would be fine, but with grandchildren we prefer to eat at home!

Terrible service. Good was horrendous. Staff very rude. Asked for table for two on table and was asked to sit at bar, then when walk in came they seated them at table I had asked for. Cooks where not washing hands when handling food. Food was very bland and had a stale taste. Breads were dry. If you are of Indian/Asian origin you should give it a miss.

Very disappointed with our evening. We were four friends, all fans of Indian food. Two of us were visiting from Barcelona and we had expected something a bit special. We arrived at 8.15 on a Yhursday evening and were surprised to find the restaurant empty. An ill omen. Two other couples arrived later but there was definitely no evening out atmosphere. The waiter was friendly but spoke so quietly that us oldies had to keep asking him to repeat himself which started as amusing but became annoying. We chose 4 different starters to share but they were all far too hot (spicy). The heat completely overwhelmed the flavours of the food and also meant we had to keep asking for more water. But then our main courses tasted rather bland by comparison. We didn't stay for dessert. And of course it was expensive. Won't be going back.

Second visit to this restaurant with my family. Great flavourful food, presented beautifully. Recent stand out dishes for me were the asparagus started and monkfish main course. Staff really welcoming and friendly too.

Discover the Flavors of India at Republic Are you in the mood for some authentic Indian cuisine? Look no further than Republic, the best Indian restaurant in Chiswick. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Republic, an Indian restaurant that genuinely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere with a touch of class. The ambience transports you to a high-end fine dining restaurant with an open kitchen and the aroma of exotic spices wafting through the air. The menu at Republic offers a variety of dishes to satisfy every palate. We saw the lovely enticing dishes in the starters and only tried them so we did not order any mains but it gives us a good excuse to go back. We enjoyed the following dishes: Pani Puri - £7 Paapdi Chaat - £8 Tandoor Paneer Tikka - £10 Chicken Lollipop - £9 Duck Dosa - £11 Tandoor Prawns - £12 Tandoor Lamb Sheekh Kebab - £10 Date & Tamarind Chutney - £1.50 For desserts, we enjoyed the Gulab Jamoon (£5.50) and Baked Madras Coffee Custard (£7.50) All the dishes were delicious but I would recommend the Duck Dosa and the Tandoor Prawns. These dishes were packing lots of flavours and for me, I have never had a Duck Dosa. All the meat is Halal but check on the day you visit to see if the Duck is Halal. So come over to Republic and indulge in a culinary journey to the heart of India. Your taste buds will thank you! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch by Pedro and the team. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of authentic Indian cuisine.

Exquisite food and excellent service. The wine list is an extensive selection if white, rose, red and sparkling. Fancy cocktails with traditional touch , they keep updating their cocktails. All the food was explained which would probably beneficial to someone not well versed in Indian food. They also gave me some recommendations when I was stuck between two wines. My favourite dish was definitely the duck dosa which was crispy and flavourful. I was sitting in kitchen counter table , action packed meal , all the dishes were served piping hot , direct from kitchen by chefs , chef Kuldeep and his team was very passionate of what they are doing , service was sublime .spotless kitchen which is visible throughout the meal brings the confidence of healthy and fresh food .

I have mixed feelings about Republic. The menu choice is limited (not a bad thing) but the food was lovely and very well presented. This was a team dinner and there were ten of us, but we booked well in advance, we didn't just show up! However, a few things that I really feel could be improved upon for a better customer experience especially if they are trying to be a `cut above' the average normal Indian restaurant and at the prices charged. Whilst our waiter was lovely and helpful, the service was really slow, and I did have to call him over a few times, and the food seemed like it took ages to come out. There was only one other member of staff helping to bring the dishes out. There were only two small other tables occupied in the restaurant who were nearly finished when we got there, so it's a good job they were not busy as I dread to think how they would have coped! The dishes were presented very well, the food was tasty, however, the table was not wiped in between courses which would have been nice and for some reason we were given small plates to eat our mains from, which really were far to small to put the food on. I thought this was odd, fine for starters, but not for mains. The restaurant was cold and blowing out cold air at intermittent times, which was really uncomfortable, and although I brought it to their attention it didn't seem to make any difference to the temperature unfortunately. We may have had desserts but it was near to 10pm by that time and they were close to closing, perhaps if the service and food had been slightly quicker we may have got to desserts earlier (reservation was 7.30pm). A couple of people wanted a coffee - but we were told this was not possible as they do not have a license to serve hot drinks!! I have been to many fantastic restaurants, at all different price levels and I have never been told you can't have a tea or coffee!. I really think that Republic need to relook at what they are trying to offer. If they are trying to replicate a high end restaurant then I think some things need to be addressed for a better customer experience overall. It was a nice enjoyable evening, but we had to go somewhere else after for a coffee and a night cap. Would I go back or recommend to friends and colleagues? probably not, sorry.

Rather impressed with this Indian restaurant, we had expected an ‘anglicised’ offering in Chiswick, however were pleasantly surprised by the excellent levels of spicing. Small menu - always a good sign, good portions, all three of us completely satiated. My only complaint is no rose wine or tea / coffee.

The food was exceptional, they’ve kept the menu relatively short, but it’s still full of unique dishes and interesting takes on classics. Each dish was packed with flavour and presented beautifully. It’s nice to see that they’ve preserved the open kitchen from Hedone (the restaurant that preceded them in this location). It made for a unique experience seeing the chefs preparing all the meals, I’ve not had that with Indian food before. The octopus in particular was delicious, very fresh and cooked so that it was buttery soft. All in all a great experience and we’ll be returning. The one issue is that they don’t serve hot drinks, which isn’t a deal breaker but would be nice to have. It would be pleasant to be able to order a warm spiced chai or an Indian tea to go with things on cold days.

Our son lives in the area, a residential area away from the traffic and noise of central London, told us about the quality of the food, and we wanted to try it. I used to travel quite often to the UK, always liked Indian food, and must say they have some of the best I ever had. I had the Paneer tikka, and the Lamb Rogan Josh, the first one cooked to perfection, and the lamb, truly mouthwatering. An excellent experience, in a nice place; congrats also for the choice of the background music! Highly recommended, worths the bus trip there.

We came across Republic by complete accident and it was an absolute gem of a find. We were seated at the bar and the service from beginning to end was exceptional. We had a birds eye view of the kitchen and saw our meal put together by a incredible team underneath the watchful eye of the head chef. Not a pan out of place and they made it look effortless. The food was probably one if not the best Indian I’ve ever had. I had chicken tikka masala with rice and the crème brûlée to follow everything was seasoned perfection and the chicken had been cooked tandoor before marinated in the buttery sauce. Dessert, one word..exquisite, and again the delicate balance of flavours were heavenly. I literally could not rate this meal highly enough and along with the ambience of the restaurant, great lighting , subtle incense and attentive staff ( not in that order;) Well, I can’t wait to go back again!

To say I enjoyed the food from the order I received that a very polite pleasent young man delivered was an understatement yes this was a bit more expensive then the average Indian take away personally I think xena spices incredible food was worth every penny the food itself was perfect the tastiest takeaway would be an understatement.
