Renzo and Mauro in Croydon

Love this place. Took me ages to get round to going here, id always noticed it as is shares my sons namesake and I regret that it took me so long. Food is amazing and staff are lovely. Always lovely and clean and really decent portions. It has become a favourite of my family.

I really hope Renzo and Mauro is only temporarily closed for a holiday or something, as we absolutely love this restaurant. The food is so delicious, the staff are welcoming. Our favourite local restaurant. Please come back soon. Gutted just found out they have closed and are under new management. So upset- Renzo and Mauro (The Pasta Pot) was fantastic and I don't think the new place will be the same. I don't know why they didn't let customers know they were closing

Hidden gem. Like someone else has said, don't be put off by the fact it seems quiet so much of the time. Food is excellent at what it is aiming for: Italian food that suits the English palette. That's not damning with faint praise, and I'm a huge fan of authentic Italian too. They both have their place. The pizza is fantastic, straight up. The pasta is great too, they even make their own pasta for many of the dishes. It's indulgent. The waitresses are excellent. They are very good about our 2 little girls running about the place. I don't understand why more people don't come, maybe that's just the economy these days.

Place is amazing and just dont judge by number of people sitting inside restaurant. I still wonder why not so many people sit down to eat rather do takeways. Good food, Amazing service and warm people.

Accepted my order on deliveroo then got a call after waiting from deliveroo to say the restaurant couldn’t do the order. What a waste of time. Awful and unreliable service. Secondly, telling a customer in one of the other reviews that they “clearly dont understand the concept” when bad decor was mentioned is extremely rude. In fact the entire response to that review is not polite at all.

We shared 8 plates of food and all were of high quality . There was only one server on the day as she worked with a smile throughput.

This place is a hidden little gem.. I went with family and good family friends for dinner.. the food is delicious. Our party had a mix of pizzas and pastas. Everyone was very happy with their food. Pastas are freshly made. However, there's spaghetti or penne options for those who, like me, are not fans of eggs. I was so busy talking and enjoying the lovely company was with that I completely forgot about photos. Trust me, this place is good. Specials ie meat/chicken/fish need to be ordered 24 hrs in advance as the chef only likes to buy fresh ingredients..the specials section of the website wasn't working when I looked at options prior to planned meal, however this didn't put me off as so much to choose from. Portions are large, and I could only manage starters and a main. The dessert sizes very generous portions. If you visit, I hope you'll enjoy as much as I did.. Staff are great, too.

Whilst the food we had was good, the menu was uninspiring - I'd love to see some authentic Italian stews, meat and fish dishes. Having been to Rome this restaurant is like one of the millions of pasta/pizza restaurants there - what the owners think tourists want to eat. If you want to fill your restaurant it needs to have a better selection than Pizza Express.

Food is yum! I order pizza for takeaway regularly and it’s delicious! Have dined in once too and service was very good. So happy to have this place nearby!

This place is a gem. The pizza was absolutely delicious and so authentic tasting, the sauce was exceptional and the dough/ way it was cooked so tasty. They have some quirky tipping ideas for the pizza and were happy to swap ingredients. It is really good value for money too, with main, coffee and a soft drink it worked out at £20 including service. Definitely do not miss it!

Had a fantastic family meal on a Wednesday to celebrate my sons 30th. The food was amazing can’t fault the staff or service definitely will be going back. Everyone who came enjoyed there meal x thank you all x

Always amazing service from the staff, great tasting food & really reasonable prices. Even the takeaway food still tastes great !! Have dined in and had a take away loads now, our new favourite Italian!

Ate here for the first time yesterday and the food and service was amazing! The pizza is Napoli style and maybe the best I've ever had! Soooo delicious and even the side salad was extremely well made. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!

We had the most fantastic afternoon celebrating my dads birthday at Renzo and Mauro. We were a big table to look after, but the service was outstanding and the food was absolutely perfect. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough, we will definitely be back!

We had our daughters birthday party here for 25 adults and 10 kids in Feb and the staff went above and beyond! We had lots of compliments about the food and service so cannot recommend it enough.

The food in this restaurant was delicious! The best Garlic Prawns and Hawaiian Pizza ever! A very reasonably priced total bill, including wine and coffee. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Nice ambience/music playing. Shame it wasn’t a little busier for the restaurant. A few more 5 star Google reviews will help I’m sure. We will definitely be returning 😋

Absolutely fantastic Italian food! My whole family are vegetarian. The choices and flavours on offer are fabulous. Definitely one to come back to ( again & again )!!! Staff are amazing and were constantly checking that everything was to our liking. It’s by far and away the best Italian food in the Croydon/Shirley/West Wickham area!

Ate here for the first time last night and was very impressed. The service was excellent and the food was the best Italian I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back.

There was 26 people in our group. The staff handled our orders very well. We had a set menu that we chose 2 weeks before we went. The staff was polite, and it was with a smile. The food I ordered was very tasty and hot. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food and the evening. I would recommend this place.

Myself and 23 other members of the Camera Club I belong to held their annual Chrismas Dinner at Renzo and Mauro's Italian Restaurant, on Wickham Road, in Shirley, Croydon on November 30th. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was good and both food and service were excellent! As such, a great evening was had by all. Based upon this experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others.

Nous avons mangé ici avec mon chéri pour notre dernière soirée à Londres, 40 minutes de marche et ça valait tellement le coup ! On a était très bien accueilli, entrée, plat et cocktail bière digestif, c'était un moment parfait et la nourriture y est délicieuse, les serveurs sont agréables et gentil

I visited ‘Renzo&Mauro’ with my family. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm as soon as you get in. The food is lovely, the portions are generous and the service is also outstanding. I recommend leaving a bit of space to try the Tiramisu as dessert!

Best place in London if you want to have a traditional Italian homemade fresh pasta , large range of starters all of them made with high-quality products. These guys are rocks!

Popped in here on my birthday, because the Indian was shut. What a result I had the Mac & Cheese to start and it was a pleasure. Pure chessey goodness. The smoky pepperoni was also very good to. The staff heard it was my birthday and made the effort to fuss over me. All in all a great experience. Well done 👍

Just had a lovely birthday meal and this local gem. Pasta and pizza was delicious and the tiramisu (which we got to try early) is amazing - would not miss it!

Absolutely fantastic! Ordered a takeaway for the first time and it was exceptional and they have vegan food! Everything was perfect and friendly happy staff. A must go to if in the area.

Great service, great food, great place!

The service was excellent, however the restaurant is very tired inside in terms of decoration and food was mediocre. Ordered a calzone pizza. Was baked and fried and it was extremely oily inside. Oil ran out when cut! Would not return or recommend to be honest. Disappointed.

What more could you want for a meal out. we have visited Renzo and Mauro as a couple and with family and always come away full up with a feeling of value for money and cared for by the owners. Perfect!

Love love love. Second time here and what's not to love about this place. The food was so tasty, and the portions are huge. The prices are reasonable too which was an added bonus.

Ate here for the first time tonight. Absolutely fantastic food and friendly staff. Had the rice balls to start. Really good. Followed by a pizza. Quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had. Dough was great but it's the tomato sauce on the base that made it for me. Will definitely be back.
