Reed Square in Birmingham

Part of my order was missing and when I rang them they told me to come and collect it. Extremely poor customer service and the food was as dry as the Sahara dessert

Really lovely food! I’ve read some reviews since it changing hands and was unsure about going! Chips were fresh and lovely! Kebabs were lovely, salad was fresh. They forgot my pickled egg though haha. The young girl that served us was really lovely, dark hair, i didn’t get her name but nothing was too much trouble and so well mannered.

Awful fish and chips burnt. Oil dripping out of tray fish soggy. Shall never order again such a lot to pay for whole order to be thrown away

Wish that I had read other reviews before visiting yesterday. Reed Square used to be the very best fish and chip shop in the area. Our fish was dry and the batter not at all nice. Still large portions but the prices are astronomical. The only bonus was they were offering a 39% discount but this did not make up for the poor food.

This used to be the best chippy in the area, they were always slightly more expensive but gave bigger portions and the food was always good quality. Now, with the change of owners, the food is of poor standard. Having had a mixed kebab meat & chips, all 3 meats were dry and seemed overcooked (especially the doner meat), there was far less sauce than you’d expect and the side of onion rings were not cooked sufficiently. To add to all of this, they’ve pushed the prices even higher which will drive customers (including me!) away. Unfortunately, what was once a great chippy is now just another sub-standard place, however this one charges far too much. The owners need to solve the issues quickly or they will go out of business

Absolutely pants. Used to be great but been taken over by Seavers in the last year, massive increase in prices but thought we would give it a go tonight, cold food and forgot the curry sauce 🤦🏻

£12.50 for fish and chips went to three chip shops in Sutton and four oaks Mac £9.20 how’s this man getting away with these prices went two days befor to reed squate 2 days later 4.50 rise in fish and chips close him down disgusting

What are they made of Wagu beef!!!!! £4.29 per minced beef & onion pasty- I have the receipt to prove & I’ve seen more effort put into a burger by a visually impaired sloth. I’m fully aware of the current economic climate but jeez no wonder with these kind of raconteurs- going for a lie down to recover. NEVER AGAIN obviously Dick Turpin & his cronies are alive & well.

New owners...FORGET IT missing meal from order, tried to call up no answer. food that was in order was poor prices have shot up and a waste of time no customer service at all. #getnickback

The "new" owner does not know his customer base Ramped up prices that the local people who have use this chip shop for years Will not pay.

Ordered online through just eat, two breasts of southern fried chicken breasts with chips, picked them up took them home and we had been given two thighs which are cheaper, and they where more like sparrow thighs , disgusting service.

Well this meal was certainly not the best sadly the pasties were sogy due to being warmed in microwaved horrible the fish could have been cooked fresh it was sogy and to be fair had no real taste so it was awful waste of money sadly

These guys genuinely do the kebab I've ever had! Can't recommend enough.

Food tasted stale, the fish was to crispy and overcooked, the keebab had so many tiny bones in it, it was inedible, will not be ordering from here again

Food just lukewarm. Mini fish was just that - more batter than anything else. Yes I ordered late 10.20pm but still would like quality. (Tried to cancel) Didn’t arrive until nearly 12. - I get a feeling that the one delivery driver delivered several (appreciated if one or two and on same route whos to know) orders as was on ‘food with driver’ for best part of 40 mins. Not sure whether this is a just eat issue as I’ve had it before with other orders.

Used this place a few time before and always been happy with it but tonight. All the chips was cold. The fish was slightly warm. Half the of kebab was cold and the other half warm. No salt and vinegar on anything even tho I asked. If your busy I would rather wait longer and have better quality. I will probz try again but if it’s the same next time will no longer use this place as I’ve had good experiences before.

I have the same order most weeks and usually very good, this week the salad was not so fresh the lettuce was brown, the chicken was over cooked and very dry and went in the bin. Not happy this week.?

First time ordering from here food hot and fresh.Will order from here again.

Brilliant food sad to be moving away from the area cause this is the best chippy I have ever eaten always hot always tasty great quality gonna miss this place ps burgers are to die for don’t get me started on the fish fresh and yummy

Too greasy iv always had excellent food before so was disappointed it was hot but greasy literally dripping as you put it in your mouth and the cod didn't taste like cod

Ordered a chippy tea for the family tonight and it was disgusting and cold never willl I order again

After waiting over an hour for our food most of it has gone in the bin. The food was disgusting. The fish was all batter. The batter on the roe was under cooked & the scallops were like bricks. The chips were tasteless. Waste of £20. Will not be ordering again

Delivery late. Food is very greasy and I am missing my curry sauce! Not sure I will order again.......

Given a cone of chips instead of a portion of chips. Quite a few bad chips too. Such a shame because when we collected our order last week it was perfect & it's always been my favourite chippy. Disappointing tonight

I’d heard good things about Reed Square so thought I’d give it a go. The food arrived quickly & was nice & hot BUT was dripping in grease - had to clean the table down before we could eat. As for the fish, for over £5 a pop I was expecting a whole fillet. What we received was a thin strip of fish each: clearly half a fillet. Lesson learned, I will be sticking to our usual fish & chip shop from now on.

I’m really surprised with the quality of the food, we have ordered many times from this place, and we was always satisfied, but this time the meat smell so bad and I had to throw away everything I’ve ordered. Really big disappointment

Food normally excellent from Reed square but I have to say on this occasion the kerbab meat was terrible, on the plus size there portion sizes are really big

Piping hot food, You have to try this place...

I usually always order from you guys but this time I was very disappointed. Cod had more batter then fish, curry sauce was runny and didn’t taste as it normally does. Not the best considering the cost of a large cod.

The food was 45 mins late I called and they could just tell me it’s out on delivery when the driver gave me my food I carried it down my steps for all my food to fall out on the floor as the bottom of the bag was full off grease and had broken through food was cold

I asked for plain chicken burger and ended up with cheese mayo on it. Plus a cod that fell apart. My son didn't enjoy his burger 1 bit as he so fussy as it is.

Fantastic food again, we ordered Cod and got just that...it was very nice, the chips etc. are always good as well, order was delivered in very quick time and before the eta, my go to chip shop whilst living in the area for 12 months now, thanks Reed Square

Chips were very dry - brown not golden. Batter on the scallops was overcooked, potato inside was firm. Piece of cod labelled large was equivalent of a small cod in most other chip shops.

The fish & chips were over cooked, tasteless, and barely warm.

The chips weren’t that warm but the burger was fabulous. The choc fudge cake - no words needed 🥳. I’d like to thank Reeed Square for ringing to check what I wanted on my burger because I didn’t do my order right 🤨 Thanks for looking after through my shielding.

Ordered a ranch burger and it should've come with a chicken burger scallop and cheese but it came with a hash brown instead of chicken

The food is always stone cold. This maybe a delivery problem as when I'm notified the driver has the food it takes 20 minutes to get to me yet I'm 5 minutes from the restaurant.

Disappointing tonight. Food was lukewarm and had to be microwaved. Fish was not great as was rubbery with hard bits on edges. Chips were soggy and pale. Used to really enjoy food from here but last 2 times not great at all.

Food was very bland, donner meat had no taste, fishcakes were over cooked and chips were just OK. Arrived cold, and 30 mins late, not happy with the order, most of it went in the bin...

Vile wouldn’t order again half of my stuff was missing and the chicken burger + wings wasn’t edible was frozen

This place is a joke. Waited 90 minutes only to be told when we rang up that their site was down and they hadn’t got the order. This is the second time it’s happened. Will never use this chippy again!

Food arrived cold, delivery was 20 mins late.

The chips was hard , and the salad had grans of dirt in it, I will not be disappointed ordering from here again it was on of the worst chip shops I had ever had before

Had to phone restaurant as order hadn’t arrived and was not even on its way after the estimated delivery time had ended. Waited 1hr 25mins for the food. Second time food has been delivered late from here - will order elsewhere in future.

I ordered a mixed kebab with salad.There was no way you could pick the pitta up & the chicken was what stews in the dish after carving off the larger strips.

Disappointing!! We have been regular customers of Reed Square for some time and in recent months have noticed a change to the quality of the food. Tonight, we ordered two mixed kebabs in pittas (as the app would not allow us to order Naan's) with salad and mint yoghurt. We also ordered a portion of chips with salt & vinegar. The donner meat was ok, the chicken meat was dry as a bone, there was plenty of salad but no dressing of note so the whole thing was unpleasant to eat. The chips were pale and there was no evidence of salt & vinegar that we could taste. We will be looking elsewhere for our next take away.

I called to ask how long the delivery would be. I was in no way complaining. They explained they were quite busy as it was Friday evening. The lady I spoke to was really polite. Unexpectedly I received a return call after 45min to tell me my order was leaving now. I really appreciate the thought and enjoyed the food. Great service.

Food was very fresh (I expected it to be a bit moist and soggy like some delivery places are like) but it was as fresh as it would be buying from the chip shop myself. Would definitely recommend as this is my second time using just eat at Reed Square

Great food and generous portions

There was no notification of food arrival. On arrival just eat gave the order to someone else & not to me. Food was colder when received & needed to reheat mushy peas. Drinks not given with order & arrived separately after phoning reeds. But the cans were warm not cold! Not a good experience for amount of money spent.
