Reds Fish Bar in County Durham

Honestly the fish was alright but the chips were horrible. The portion size was unacceptable for £3. I spent £9 on chips and all of the portions pretty much came to the size of what I would expect for 1 portion. Put me off ordering from reds.

Need to learn how to cook fish and/or get a different paper to wrap it in. Peeled the paper off and all the batter comes with it cos it's all soggy

Ordered large cod and chips. Fish was ok but a measly portion of chips and the worst curry sauce I have had the displeasure of. It's really not difficult is it a simple English staple diet ruined. Poor show, won't return. Hope you take note.

Used this place for years but first time today with the new owners. There was a hard piece of something in a chip but more alarmingly a long hair in the batter of one of the sausages. Won’t be going back. Avoid

£17 for 2 sausage and fish with peas and gravy. Took over an hour fish and sausage!! Rang up to be told quite rudely nothing they can do after admitting the sausages shouldn't have been together as will make them soggy. Wouldn't recommend to anyone 🤮🤮

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!! The atmosphere was very friendly and the owners was so kind as well. The food was so delicious and divine especially the chips. I will be a regular of the place from now on. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Can’t recommend this place enough! Best fish shop ever! Will be a regular here from now on! Me and my husband love the haggis and the owners were so lovely with my kids (aged 4 and 8) while we were waiting! Brilliant atmosphere, fantastic food, great service!!

So glad that I got recommended this place! The new owners are such nice people, very friendly and extremely welcoming!! Had a hard time reading the menu because of my dyslexia and they helped me out forever gratefully for them! The service was amazing and fast which I think is the best quality. The shop it self was extremely clean and very sanitary.

Always get from here. Unfortunately they messed the order up the last time we ordered, I rang and they said I hadn't ordered correctly, and said they should have written it down correctly as I told them.. nevertheless I still would go back as this is the first time this has happened.

Clean shop, friendly staff and good opening hours including on a Sunay. Portion size was good, not greasy however the two bags I purchased were both hard and were therefore binned. A shame, but will try again in the hope it was just a bad batch.

Just been in and got sausage n chips and a kids cod bites .. chips are white and hard totally undercooked I have had to chuck them wouldn't dare go back here wasted nearly a tenner

Disgusting service. Ordered for delivery, all food did not arrive had to contact to be told they would sort it. Over one hour later had to call back to chase. By this point the rest of the food was cold. We had wanted to eat together. Most ended up in bin as cold. Will not use again

Perfect chips and gravy to go! Also had huge fish and chips portions enough for two people. Tasty and not heavy at all!

Never had fish and chips delivered although we have always used reds but just gone to the shop. The food arrived before time, pipping hot, crispy batter and great portions. Easy to order online and very efficient. Brilliant!

All the staff are very professional and cheerful. The staff always have the customers needs first.The Reds phone- in service is excellent. Delivery time is getting beyond a joke. It's supposed to be fast food. Nearly 2 hour wait and we are regulars. Not impressed at all, gone past the hunger now!

The Boss has a poor attitude and was happy to hear the I would be leaving at bad review today because the Gateau cake I ordered cake had 0% toppings 0% filling 100% CAKE And denies that it never and told me he would do nothing about it not a refund not a fresh one as I offerd to bring the old one back that had been untouched he declined my offer so I told him I would be leave a bad review and he happily accepted that offer, when I orderd the cake he asked me if I had the “ munchies “ referring to stoner food cravings so god knows what kind of a boss they have down there Over all rating 0 doesn’t come close👍🏼

Ordered several lots of chips, cod, battered sausage and onion rings. Decently priced, very tasty and not as greasy as most other places. Did collection as I always find this the best way for hot food from any take away. Missed off the scraps though, sad times.

First time I have had food from Red's and I must say it was lovely. I ordered on line this morning and it arrived when it was supposed to. Very good service and very pleasant delivery driver. Thank you so much.

Fueming!! Ordered delivery on their own website, pre ordered hours before 8.35pm for actual delivery and nothing, no1 answering phone nowas closed at 9pm. Yeah waited 3 hours!! My best chippy anorl, can do 1 from now on!!

Chips small, fishcake no taste,

No salt on chips, no scraps even though was included in both chips orders, took 1 hour 40 to come.

The food is always really nice and reasonably priced. They offer a convenient delivery service, which whilst slow at times, always delivers piping hot food. When I visited this establishment in person at around 6pm on a Tuesday it was quite busy. The staff were friendly and efficient taking orders so that they could prepare the food fresh. The portions were generous, and they even give two pieces of fish as they felt that a single piece was too small for their usual standard. Great service.

Reds fish bar are in my opinion the best fish bar I've ever been to. Been a Customer for nearly 6years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

This place used to do the best fish in the area. My last orders have brought the worst fish ever. Dont know where your getting your fish from cause it doesn't look or taste like cod!

Placed a phone order for collection. Collected it, order was all wrong, once opened at home. Phoned up, worker was adamant it was for delivery, argued then hung up on me. Never will I be back.....& what we had was poor. Oh, & waited an hr for the food!

I am from Stockton visited friends. Went here for something to eat. Found it one of the friendliest places I have been to. You Gentleman and Lady served me. Very nice they where too. Lovely Polite. Could not have got a better service anywhere.

RUBBISH SERVICE, ORDER IS NEVER RIGHT AND THE OWNER IS RUDE. OUR FOOD WAS COLD WAITING FOR THE REST OF THE ORDER TO COME. OVER AN HOUR. I I ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK. BLESS HIM HE AGREED BUT.........
