Red Sky Bar in Glasgow City

This spot is stunning to sit and eat/drink. We were greeted by Paula who was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Atmosphere was nice and constantly kept busy. This review is only based on the afternoon tea and no reflection on the staff who were all lovely. We were in to have the gin afternoon tea with high ecxpectations due to it being in radison red. However portion was very small and felt as if they were trying to hard with the choices on the board instead of keeping it classic. No1 overly liked the choice of sweet from tasteless jelly to random smoothie drink that looked better than It tasted. The savourily selection was lacking and the choice to use a Boa bun instead of a sandwich was not for us. There also was a spoon with a tastless couscous and salmon, which again was a waste of choice for savoury and required taste. The previous week I visited the radison blue which was fantastic, with a large table for savoury and another table for sweet. You were able to pick your own so for savoury or sweet only eaters you actually got a nice ammount and a choice with classic selections of finger foods. This was a winner and ashame radison red was so disappointing. We were all too polite to say it wasn’t nice so smiled and ordered a hot drink before leaving.

Attended the Sky bar today as a special treat for my mother in law who was recently bereaved. This was for an afternoon tea. My friend had two vouchers which weee gifted and she had added on my mother in law to cheer her up. We met with lovely reception staff and shown to our seats in the sky bar. Drinks order taken and asked about my preferred vegetarian option. Then everything went downhill from there. Our food came and this consisted of a variety of food that looked deep fried. Sliced sausage rolls and deep fried popcorn chicken. Selection of scones that were so hard you could use as door stops. We were advised that the vegetarian sandwich was hummus with salad. This was 1 single sandwich which has a tiny piece of lettuce, dark brown edges and a single slice of tomato, no butter or anything else. The cream for the scones was in a small jar and when opened this looked like it had turned and was so watery you couldn't put it onto the scone. There were small ball donuts with bacon in the middle that were the size of marbles and as hard as these. We complained to waiting staff who were mortified and said chef would prepare replacement items, what came out of the kitchen was of no better quality so overall this was an extremely disappointing experience.

Nice view, terrible food. Ordered the fajita toastie and it was 3 tiny pieces of chicken in council bread for £13. Do not come if you are eating. A child could make a better sandwich.

Have just spent over 8 hours here to see my very favorite DJ. Only spent so long as the curfew for entry to the venue was 4pm when the main act didn't come on until 9pm? Seems like a ploy to get you to overspend? Seems that if you're staying in the hotel this does not apply perhaps. The DJ was incredible however the clientele were shocking - I nearly had my phone pickpocketed (lucky I felt it being pulled from my pocket in time). Security in the Sky bar were unpahsed when I told them, however, staff at the main lobby as I exited were highly concerned and apologetic which I appreciated. View from the bar was great and ultimately is a good venue. Just the clientele left me feeling a little shocked today.... was difficult to enjoy the show due to this. Be careful.

Booked over phone as website was “having trouble” according to staff on phone. Arrived at 11.50 for our 12 o’clock booking to be told we’re not open yet.. entered at 12 to then be told we didn’t have a table booked and if we did I should have a confirmation email. Explained the booking was taken over phone and that I hadn’t received a confirmation email! After a bit of eye rolling snd humming and hawing we were told we could have a table but only until 1pm. 12.20 waitress asked us for drinks/food order..12.40 drinks arrived 12.50 food arrived. Our server was pleasant enough but most had absolutely no customer service skills and seemed totally disorganised with only half the tables taken I’d dread to think how they would cope if the place was full. Food was edible but not worth recommending for price ..£10 for a cheese/onion toastie. Took payment (cash) to a cluttered bar to be told to just leave it there as they carried on chatting about their plans for after work Total shambles, will not return!

Was staying in the hotel and decided to try the sky bar for dinner and a cocktail. The service at the bar was very slow both times I ordered. The food was quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had. I ordered the chicken wings, ceasar salad and the katsu fries. I had a few bites of each and couldn’t eat it. Would return for just a drink but would never order food from here again.

Vino preferido entonces no disponible y para colmo barra cerrada a las 10. 30 pm y nos dijeron que podíamos tomar bebidas en nuestra habitación! No es lo que se paga cuando se pasa la noche en un hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Radisson Red hotel for her birthday on Tuesday evening. We visited the Sky Bar for a few drinks prior to going out for dinner and then again prior to going back to the room. Paula and her team were very welcoming. It was a nice atmosphere and we look forward to returning in the future!

Decent room. Comfortable bed. Chose this hotel to go to Sky Bar and proximity to Hydro. However could not get booked in for food or order room service either. Could not get into Sky Bar but told come back after concert as residents only in then until 2am. Went to adjacent hotel for food (not great but no time to go back in to city). Came back at 10.50pm after concert and straight to Sky Bar. Told by staff they are not doing cocktails only to see them being made 10 mins later. Then at 11.40pm told that the Sky Bar was about to close even though it was at least half full with hotel residents. Quite disappointed as we had been looking forward to going and this had been main reason for booking this hotel ahead of others nearby.

Abysmal service, left waiting to be seated for ages, when finally sat down was told table service only, 20 minutes later still no service, 4 members of staff just standing at the bar talking and messing about and the place was not even busy. Walked out after getting fed up of the wait. Staff need training in even how to complete the basic task of their job which is to serve customers, not mess about with colleagues at the bar.

Booked here for nibbles and drinks for our work Xmas night out attending Culture Club at hydro. We were really looking forward to going and seeing the views as have heard a lot about it. Unfortunately the bar staff working on Fri 13th Dec let the place down massively. There was a very flat feeling at the bar, no team work, waiting on drinks for ages, no eye contact from staff serving others to say be with you in a minute etc, a guy can on shift while waiting but didn’t look like he wanted to be there either, eventually one of us asked if everything was ok, and were told that it’s very stressful working behind the bar as very busy etc, I understand this but there needs to be more organisation. They ran out of Rose wine and wine glasses too, we were sorted at our table a bit earlier than our booking which was good however the table was dirty and needed wiped from previous customers. There was one member of staff on the floor who was very bubbly and offered suggestions from the nibbles menus and was smily and chatty, and another girl behind the bar working quickly and doing the best she could, however the rest of the bar staff were certainly wearing the right Xmas shirts with The Grinch on them as there was no pleasantries or festive cheer, we felt we were an inconvenience at the bar waiting to order drinks. Management need to address this issue as it would put customers off returning, most people at the bar were all saying the same. We understand it’s busy at this time of year, but mangers should be prepared for this and have their staff ready to deal with it. We all have busy jobs too and were looking forward to enjoying our annual night out but it was somewhat spoiled due to the service.

First time I went here the barman said take a seat and he'd attend to me but took ages to come back so I left. Second time recently I stood at bar to order a wine and was ignored by two staff fapping about with cocktails so gave up again. Like to sit up in this bar and enjoy the scenery but the staff don't care about a casual customer!

I came here with family for a few drinks before an event at the Hydro last weekend and I was looking forward to trying it as I'd never been before. The view and the atmosphere is great, but despite there being plenty of staff on the floor, our first round of drinks took around 15 minutes to arrive. We had pre-booked as well so we were obviously going to be around for a couple of hours, and having worked in hospitality before, I know I would have taken every opportunity to come back and ask if anyone needed any more drinks, but an hour after our first drink no-one had spoken to us. I had to flag down a staff member to ask for the same round again, and this time the drinks still hadn't arrived after 35 minutes. I went to the bar to follow up (as again, none of the staff had checked on us in this time) and the staff member said he'd look into it for me. A different staff member from who I'd originally placed the order with came over and asked us what we would like to order. I said that we had already ordered and had been waiting for 35 minutes for our drinks now. He went away to check up again and the original staff member I had ordered with came back to tell me the ticket had been lost and he would put the order through again. The drinks finally arrived 45 minutes after I had ordered them. At this point we only had 20 minutes until the end of our reservation so I thought perhaps an offer might have been made for at least one of the drinks to be complementary for our inconvenience but no such suggestion was made. I'm not one at all to fish for freebies but I did think on this occasion it would have been a small gesture to recompense a little for the poor experience. A real shame because as I say it's a lovely bar but really poor service on this occasion. I wouldn't rush back or recommend to anyone based on this initial experience.

Place was awesome, great decor little touches like lift service all round 10/10 music atmosphere food just go well worth it.

Found this via google when looking for bars to go to. Was a great find, good views of Glasgow and the OVO arena. We only had cocktails but they were great. The barman with the beard and manbun made a great old fashioned, done correctly for the correct amount of time. Absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately the barman after him made it in less than half the time and the difference to any old fashioned drinker is obvious. Bar wasn’t particularly busy so he did have the opportunity to slow it down a bit. My partners drinks were great. And no complaints there. Would like to visit again

Paula is one of the best! First class customer service and a credit to The Radisson Red! We had a great time in The Sky Bar and Paula’s professionalism is the only reason we will be back!! Thanks for making a special night even better than we expected, your customer service skills were exemplary!

Me and my friend got service from Polly. She was amazing. We had the best time here. I've been here before a few times and it's always been amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a wee bit expensive but definitely one of the best places to chill in Glasgow. Everyone and anyone should try this place once. This place does not do proper food just nibbles but all the same worth it. There is an outside balcony with seats and heaters. This place will not let you down 😁😎👍🏼

Great vibe from this place. From the lighting, the decor and the bar. Definitely recommend this place. Drinks are quite expensive and unfortunately it was Glens vodka they used instead of Smirnoff which isn't the biggest issue, Great view's from the sky bar over the Clyde which makes the expensive alcohol worth it.

Cocktails and food were 1st class. Looking out over the Clyde was amazing.

Teníamos unos platos pequeños ya que solo queríamos un aperitivo ya que íbamos a un concierto en la OVO. La vista era impresionante y sin duda volveremos en los próximos meses cuando estemos abajo para otro concierto. Las mejores notas y lo recomiendo a todos.

Fui a almorzar a Red Sky. La comida estaba bien, pero casi autoservicio. Tardamos una eternidad en pedir, una eternidad en venir, fuimos al bar a buscar nuestras propias bebidas. Probablemente no volvería.

Waited a while to visit here and were both really disappointed. Attended prior to hydro concert so pretty busy but staff were just stressed and couldn't manage a smile between them, really poor service. Booked a table and expected some waited service but just have to stand at a very busy bar to order ?. On a time limit with your booking also. Food arrived at table before we had even got our drinks at the bar . Over priced bites !!! of food. Bar was filthy and absolutely chaos stuff everywhere. Offered a spritz in aa tiny glass as no clean glasses so bar members had to use my previous glass. Toilet hanging off the wall leaking on to floor. Sink area flooded. Not a great experience. Style over any substance. Beautiful views especially when sun was setting but not worth the visit. Shame thought it would be really fab.

Arrived for afternoon tea with friends and there seemed to be a mix up with tables but Jenna was very professional and sorted out the problem. She went out of her way to make sure that we had a wonderful afternoon. The afternoon tea was lovely but the staff more than made up for the initial mix up.

Had a brilliant experience here when I attended with some work colleagues. Really high level of friendly service, we had the joy of being hosted by the amazing Jenna! Thank you so much!

Great selection of tunes, at a volume enough to enjoy them but also to talk. Cool vibes with awesome views and good drinks. Wouldn’t recommend the small plates, very expensive for mid flavour and portions; but otherwise excellent place. I’ll keep bringing my first-dates here.

Had a fantastic time at an event hosted here the other night! The views are unbeatable and it was so nice to have both a protected space from the rain and outdoor space when it was dry and I needed fresh air. Paula and Poppy took such good care of us, and I had a delightful elderflower cocktail made by Leo behind the bar—Jasper was also working the bar and kept the delicious drinks coming! Highly recommend.

Went here for a special birthday was met by Jenna who was very friendly and made it feel special for us .we were then served by Anna who was also very pleasant and made us some lovely cocktails nothing was a bother to them both .Food was also lovely .well done girls keep up the hard work .

Excellent place, great atmosphere and staff and fantastic cocktails. Busy when we were there but we were shown to our table quickly and plenty of staff on the bar so didn’t wait long to be served. Special mention to Paula who spoke to us and made sure our evening was great!

We have stayed twice now at Radisson Red recently. Booked a table for drinks at Sky Bar. We both had small lite bite plates to share in the afternoon which were lovely. Served by a new staff member on Sunday. Very professional. We both had West Beer and a few cocktails. Sam served us our drinks in the afternoon. The staff I have met in Sky Bar have been lovely. Jenna, Andrew and Erin. Arran good at making Old Fashioneds.

We called in here for drinks as recommended by a lady on the train prior to our night at the Armadillo. We didn’t eat as it was just a drinks stop off, but the food we saw looked lovely. Drinks were reasonably price with a great selection obviously but it was the view and the atmosphere of the bar terrace that made it. Super place to drink and would definitely recommend.

Been here a few times & it’s been very good, booked for 830pm Saturday 27th July. Other times been earlier, possibly that’s the issue this time. Our booked table was fine but various other tables not cleaned / cleared of glasses etc. paying £12 for a cocktail to be put into a wine glass or beer glass is very poor service. I also saw others complaining about cocktail quality. Bar service not great either, 4 / 5 bar tenders but slow service. Hopefully a blip as usually it’s good.

Had a anniversary drinks and food here; gorgeous and unique views over the Clyde and a fun selection of drinks. Snack food were really good and varied too. Lovely, polite staff too

Me and my partner came here for our anniversary and were treated to excellent food, drinks and service with a great view over the Clyde. We had booked an inside table but there were no issues with moving outside to enjoy the rare sun while it lasted. Our server Sophie was friendly and attentive, recommending lovely in-house cocktails, and we felt well-tended to all evening. Will recommend to all friends!

First time in the Sky Bar, from the moment we arrived at the Hotel we were greeted warmly, the Bar itself has a great atmosphere and the views are spectacular especially once night falls. Special mention to Andy and Erin-Ella who were friendly, warm and extremely welcoming

We had a wonderful visit at the Red Sky bar in Raddison Red Glasgow. The food was delicious and offered a few vegetarian options. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was modern and vibrant, making it a great place to relax. #avthewanderlust

We were staying in Glasgow for 1 night in a nearby hotel, went to the Sky Bar for the sunset and ordered 2 cocktails, the waitress was really inexperienced in making the cocktails and for £25 for 2 drinks, they were very disappointing. We complained and the manager was very quick to resolve, he offered us a replacement drink and refunded us our money. The waitress in question wasn't very happy that we complained and we seen her talking about us as we left the hotel as she pointed us out to a colleague, which wasn't very professional, it wasn't a personal attack on her but the cocktails really were shockingly bad for the price. We had some food in the bar which was lovely and the view and atmosphere were very nice, we didn't let the situation put us off as the Manager was very helpful.

Amazing experience. Staff are amazing and the views sensational. Jenna was unbelievable in helping us experience this place to the most. So polite and catered to all our needs. Will be back because of her (and the views!). Thank you very much!!

From the room to the Sky Bar, we had an amazing visit. We really enjoyed the cocktails and the view. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Paula was an absolute ray of sunshine. Asked questions to find out what we would like to drink and made recommendations. We can’t wait to come back and are hoping to make a return soon! ❤️

We purchased 3 vouchers from a 5pm.com deal which was for 3 small plates and a cocktail, beer or soft drink for 2 people for each voucher. The food was cheap quality and unappetizing in fact it was rubbish. As for the cocktails the staff were incompetent and didn't know how to make them and one ever asked am I shaking the cocktail shaker properly. We purchased additional cocktails and even although we ordered the same cocktails they were completely different when the staff changed shift. We ordered long cocktail Sunrise and although the first one wasn't great it was in a tall glass. The same cocktail ordered later was put into a small cocktail glass and was all mixed together with no appearance of a sunrise. It was just a cloudy orange colour. A couple next to us ordered the same sunrise and got a small glass like ours and theirs was red in colour. When they asked why they never got a tall glass they were told we don't have any tall glasses and when they asked why it was red they were told that too much grenadine was put in it. The staff are clueless, incompetent and the service is very very slow. All in all it was a total waist of money and I would not recommend this place or this deal to anyone.

Spent a couple of hours here admiring the view on a lovely sunny night. Staff were very accommodating in finding a nice table and delivered a couple of glasses of fizz on the house as it was our wedding anniversary.

First four cocktails I requested they didn't have ingredients or didn't know how to make. Eventually got a cocktail and it was vile tasted like vinegar. Staff could've cared less. Took forever to get served. Waited forever for food that was dry overcooked and cold. Only thing going for this place is the view. Tried to speak to someone but they really didn't care one bit. Cancelled future reservations. Shocking

The afternoon tea had stale donuts and a curdled yoghurt drink and the other bits were not very appetising. The staff were unsure if the whopping price included tea/coffee. The glasses were not clean with marks and lipstick, the toilet was flooding onto the floor and after asking for water 3 times it finally came 10 mins before we left. Nice views and a nice atmosphere but way overpriced and a disappointing experience.

Love this place, amazing atmosphere and views. Andrew and the rest of the staff add to the relaxed but vibrant feel of the bar. Food and cocktails as great as the view. Will be back soon I hope.

Stumbled across this bar during our bachelorette party and fell in love!! Best cocktails and especially the bartender Finlay was just amazing (and super handsome omg)! Ended up spending the whole evening there and enjoyed Finlay's bartending skills, highly recommended!!

Elissa and Jack served us on our first visit to Red Sky Bar and were outstanding. I worked in bars for at least 6 years and could tell these people really knew what they were doing. Really friendly but professional and knowledgeable. They added to the great atmosphere in the place. Also, genuinely the best espresso martinis I've ever had 👌🏻

Jeez such a disappointment- great views but gawd total inability to provide decent, never mind quality experience when in fact you have everything in place to do so. Negroni - worst ever - & no orange for garnish as apparently out of supply??!!! Hugo Spritz with wilting mint garnish too. Ordered food & the dismay just continued squid rings that were thread thin, cold chicken skewers. Unbelievably poor experience on a fabulous sunny Glasgow day. You simply could not lose unless you just don’t care about your customers. This is the Radisson but gawd it’s acting like a 2-3 star provider. Gear up guys & sort this nonsense out. Atmosphere only scored high as it had nothing to do with the Radisson.

Went to the skybar today and it was a brilliant experience despite being very busy! Poppy was excellent and so was Sophie! Good chat from both of them! I can’t recommend enough!

Visited for afternoon tea, took a while to get seated, then when we were, we were told bar service only. The afternoon tea was a poor offering as per the picture. I got a gluten free one, was given cream and jam, but no scone or anything to put it on and only one cake. We had to go to the bar to request coffee and then before we got our gin that was included, everyone was told that they had to leave in 10 mins for a private function. We were given it, but had to take it downstairs. The bar person serving us was lovely, but the manager didn’t seem interested.

Booked last minute prior to going to the Armadillo for the evening. The staff on the phone couldn’t have been nicer but unfortunately the same can’t be said about who appeared to be the manager of the sky bar. His attitude was terrible (possibly stressed as they had a private event on later in the evening but that wasn’t our fault) tables were cluttered with glasses from previous customers, floors at the bar area were sticky and there was no atmosphere. The attitude of this specific manager has put us off and we will not be back nor will we recommend in the future.

An excellent top floor bar and restaurant in Glasgow. The view from the floor is amazing. Food and service is even better. Overall, a good place to go for dates and hangouts. Price for food is also worth it.

The wine was tasteless….expected much more given the price. The bar staff were arguing over an order in full view and hearing of customers….not professional. Confusion over food orders meant a table got cold food. Our food was tasty but some of it was cold. People taking drinks back due to taste. The female bar person was miserable bordering on rude. Tables weren’t wiped between customers. People smoking in close proximity to people eating….the area should be no smoking/vaping. We booked a table online assuming we could sit outside but it seemed a free for all with walk ins taking outside tables. This should be a fantastic experience….instead it was very disappointing. The only real highlight was watching the sunset.

Had the most amazing night in the sky bar! Popped in for a few cocktails and the staff were nothing but perfect, Izzy, Andrew and Poppy really made our night perfect and Izzy’s cocktails were delish easily one of the best cocktails I’ve had!! And the view was stunning especially during the sunset. Will definitely be coming back here

Had booked the Sky Bar for drinks and small plates prior to a show. Sat happily at a corner table however after eating requested a move to a window seat. Jenna was kind enough to allow us to move to an empty window seat for the best part of an hour prior to other guests arriving for their table. Beautiful evening, Glasgow had sunshine ☀️, refreshing drinks (thank you bar staff), lovely food (thank you to the kitchen staff), lovely views (thank you Glasgow for being sunny for once!). Thanks for the window seat Jenna! (Promised a good review 😜)

One of the few places in Glasgow with a rooftop bar. Views of the Hydro and up the Clyde. Drinks with standard rooftop bar inflation applied. Went after work for a couple of drinks and was quiet, probably mobbed at the weekend.

I should start off by saying the veiw from the sky bar is satisfying, especially good for an evening with a drink and book. Next is the staff, there are brilliant. I saw 4 of them while I was there, Jen was amazing, multiple funcky cocktail along side poppy and was great to chat to. Joe was a great laugh, checked in on me periodically throughout the evening to make sure I was okay and I met Connor and Poppy through my time there, they were also lovely to chat to. Pull at that together with and a nice atmosphere after a long day, I would say if your in glasgow for an evening and happen to be round the Raddison, or lucky enough to stay with them, you should pop in, its well worth the visit.

We had a fantastic time at the Red Sky Bar last night prior to going to the Armadillo. We chose 5 plates of light bites between the two of us which was the perfect amount. The food was really yum, service was amazing and the view incredible - on a rare sunny evening in Glasgow!

Horrendous. Inattentive staff. Forgotten orders. Didn’t clear the table. Food options poor.
