Great place, great atmosphere and the staff are all welcoming. Never had a bad visit and the food is wonderful. All credit to Gemma and Stuart. DNA

Friendly service and good food. Can sit inside or out, in the sun or shade. Lunchtime menu is good value. We had sausage and mash, which included yorkshire pudding and veg.

A Wharfedale Whimsy at the Red Lion 🍗🦁 (3/5) Off I went on a dinner quest to the Red Lion in Burley-in-Wharfedale, unsure if it's a local gem or part of a restaurant chain. Parking was a breeze – plenty of room for my trusty steed (er, car). With TVs aplenty, it seemed this lion's den might be a haven for sports fans. The youthful staff, eager to please, swiftly took my order: a veritable feast of chicken in all its fried glory. Alas, the meal appeared to have been plucked from the freezer, then hurled into the deep, dark depths of the fryer. My butterfly chicken, a bit too well done, could've taken flight, and the wings? Let's just say they've got crunch! On the bright side, kids can run amok in this spacious pub. And the helpful staff earned my three-star salute. But the grub? I was left with a bean-and-chip mountain, yearning for tastier cuisine. Ah well, better luck next time!

The Triple Stack Burger is a total win. The beef patty is super juicy, and the double bacon adds the perfect crunch. With all that melty cheese and sweet caramelized onions, every bite is packed with flavor. The burger sauce just seals the deal. It's a big, tasty burger that’s totally worth the price. Definitely grab one if you're hungry!

The service and hospitality at the Red Lion is 5 star is Stuart cooked our food today and it was bang on. Love our local for food it’s amazing definatley recommend ❤️❤️❤️

Great friendly service with delicious food. Cost atmosphere and prices and specials available were great. A wonderful stop as I drove down memory lane with my parents. A highlight of my time in the countryside and one I’ll tell my friends about when I return home to Australia.

Fairly priced meals and drinks which tasted amazing, everyone loved it!

This amazing building has a real homely feel inside... Extended seating inside and out with covered smoking areas and large screen TVs throughout (inc outside in the front seating area) Stewart was a fantastic host and this pub is spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. Lunch time specials and full menu options available. The red lion is set in the beautiful village of Burley in warfdale surrounded by listed buildings and landscaped gardens a really tranquil place to rest up, have some food and enjoy the area.

This pub is always warm and friendly. The staff are all courteous and polite. My wife and I regularly call in for a drink and always receive a warm welcome. I can certainly recommend Sunday lunch

Fantastic food - far far better than the “upmarket” Chevin Lodge, which cost us a fortune. Service was excellent, welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere was quiet as it was a Monday night but perfect for a relaxed birthday meal for two. Excellent value for money.

Excellent food. Only problem was the sourdough garlic bread was awful, pressed my fork into the bread and oil oozed out. That said I will definitely revisit and would recommend

Lovely pub fantastic staff and great food

Called yesterday for lunch. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to a quiet table. The atmosphere within the pub was excellent. My son and I had the sausages and mash with Yorkshire pud while my wife had the homemade lasagna. We were all impressed with the quality of the food. The staff couldn’t do enough for our adult autistic son, on paying found out that the landlord came from a village near our home. We will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😲

New to this pub and was totally welcomed. We had 2 sausage and mash meals and a lasagne and sides. Totally enjoyed all our meals and service was brilliant. Big shout out to my lasagne, absolutely delicious!

Really spot on dinner on Saturday evening for my family , they were busy with the rugby which we enjoyed, great meal , hot, well presented and tasty especially the burgers which were complimented on by my father in law.

Very quiet but service was slow. Beef for the Sunday roast was too tough to eat. We told the server who just said “OK” but didn’t offer an apology or even seemed surprised. We took the beef home for the dog. The veggie Sunday roast comes incomplete as standard as the Yorkshire pudding is cooking in beef dripping and the roast potatoes are very dry

Great place. Food is excellent, never had a problem with service even when busy you are served in a very timely manner. Staff are good and very friendly. Highly recommended to all. The sticky toffee pudding is a must and a good way to finish off your meal.

Wanted a nice long cool drink opted for a mojito. Came squeezed out of abag (so we were informed) into a coup glass, cloudy and had a froth, no ice and no mint, apparently this is how they come 😕

We came for Sunday lunch. The service was really good. Very attentive and friendly. The food was first class. The spicy broccoli soup was delicious and the roast beef and chicken dinners were amazing - hot tasty and very filling. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who was looking for somewhere to enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable Sunday lunch.

We had a funeral tea at the Red Lion today. They went above & beyond to make it a special occasion for our family & friends & were very hospitable to go that bit further when they didn’t need to

Please don’t waste your money. Service overall was very slow and we waited a full hour for our meals, pub wasn’t even busy!!! Children’s meals came first and I have to say were fine for chicken nuggets, chips and beans. Our mains came five minutes later, steak and ale pie for £13.95 - burnt pastry needed a chisel and hammer, three pieces of steak and gravy inside the small round pie and frozen peas, absolute disgrace. No one came to ask if meals were okay or I would have complained and asked for my money back for the adult meals. My husband ate his as he was so hungry. Pubs are complaining about going out of business, little wonder when this is what is being charged for poor service and reheated frozen food. Such a shame because building and beer garden are really quite pleasant.

Friendly host & staff. The food is very nice & I love the sticky toffee pudding. It has a spacious beer garden and a few rooms inside so you can be quiet, play games or just be part of the pub atmosphere

Attendee for my Aunts 60th and had a spectacular day. Felt super safe for kids and all staff were kind and helpful. Got a bit busy at the bar sometimes but on football day with two sittings in function room, it's reasonable to expect. Sterling job all round.

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch for a party of 15 ranging from 4 to 90 years old. The portions are very generous and I especially liked the range of vegetables. We got our own separate room and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I thought the atmosphere friendly and it was nice and warm in there I will go again😊

Just had a wonderful Mothers’ Day lunch at the Red Lion; lovely service, great atmosphere and lovely polite staff. On leaving we were given a bunch of daffodils and a little tipple to take home. Thank you from two mothers, we had a wonderful day 😊😊

Absolutely awful!! Not much on the menu...Sunday Roast only! Beef was very rare, not advised of this. Gammon very Fatty Only a choice of 2 sweets, because the Chef had a big order coming in & didn't have time! Booked online for 1pm the pub only opened at 12 and there was only 8 people in the section where we were eating. Staff ok but very young, not a choice of veg! Just piled on the plate, presentation poor& not much idea. Very expensive for what we got! Would definitely not go again! Very poor!!

Excellent Sunday Roast, the roast potatoes were the best!

Fantastic Sunday roast today, great selection of vegetables, proper Yorkshire Pudding and all for a very reasonable price. If you haven't tried it (lived in the village 20+ years, drink there regularly but don't eat there???). I really do recommend you give their Sunday roast a try, you definitely won't be disappointed.

The Red Lion menu is very tempting, difficult to narrow down a choice. All options are very reasonably priced. Our food was excellent. We had 3 of the bar snacks, scampi and hunter’s chicken which were all extremely tasty and very generous portions. Service was excellent too. Thumbs up from all 3 diners.

Stuart and Gemma go above and beyond to make you feel so so welcome- we hired the room for our sons christening, everything was perfect and nothing was too much trouble. sooo much food, all of our guests were so happy with it! its a perfect local spot, that we would highly recommend again and again, and will be using for future events that's for sure! The food is outstanding I have to say, my dad said it was the best fish & chips he had ever had and my scampi was exceptional. The kids burgers were quickly devoured too! Service is top notch, & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely wonderful, Thank you!

What a great pub in the centre of the village. Nice interior and a great sitting out area at the front of the pub. Drinks were good and although we didn't have food what had been ordered by other customers looked very nice.

We went here for Sunday lunch and were very impressed by what we had to eat . My husband is a roast beef and Yorkshire pudding man and was very pleased . I prefer non-meat dishes and was delighted with the nut roast . The vegetables were amazing , at least five different sorts ; particularly impressed by the roast parsnips , and all beautifully presented . One or two desserts were 'off' but we found good substitutes . The service was delightful ; the young woman who took our orders looks like she's got a great future in the hospitality industry ! The cold wind prevented us sitting outside but we shall be back .

Best Fish & Chips I ever had in the UK!

Food, very poor standard cold on arrival, when finally arrived warm it was tasteless. Poor service no option for addition sauces. Limited drink options, bar staff need training on this, as unsure of basic drink options. Would not spend my money here again.

Just a casual meet up with family for lunch today - we’ve been a few times before and today was again really enjoyable - great food and lovely service - the bangers and mash was superb! All very fairly priced and very tasty! Just how...

First visit here, but won't be the last. The food was great, and the so were the staff. I left a bit disappointed as I was soooo full I couldn't fit a dessert in!

We were almost the only customers hence no atmosphere, staff unattentive, poor beer - Taylors had no flavour. Very cold - either no heating or little heating and certainly no welcoming log fire. No wonder there were no customers.
