Lovely cozy pub/restaurant always a great service 5*****

Nice "Country pub" with bars and a restaurant. The homemade steak n' ale pie is fabulous 👌 Went woth a group of friends and everyone agreed that the food was excellent.

Just had Sunday lunch absolutely diabolical we were the only ones in the restaurant food came out in about 10to15 minutes the vegetables were look warm my wife had beef and couldn’t get her knife through it the only vegetables that were hot was cauliflower cheese which was an extra it was the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had we told the young lady when she was clearing the plates (she was nice) but no one came to speak to us not from the kitchen or the management total waste of money

A hidden gem with a quirky olde world bars leading a lovely little restaurant serving great food. Fantastic service by friendly staff wish we had located it sooner would have visited more often while on hols .the steak an ale pie is fantastic

Food was good but when your mother realises there are extra charges on her card for drinks (that were already paid for separately)... goes in to complain and the lad behind the bar backs her up... and then mum is "barred" for complaining by the manager that doesn't listen to the lad behind the bar that served them. Disgusting.

Do not go! Bar staff are fantastic. Owner/ manager absolutely is not. I'm a health care professional, was charged for drinks I didn't have. Despite her staff telling her we had paid separately for our drinks last night, she had to check. Fair enough. I was left standing for 15 minutes, no explanation of what she was doing. What time did you come in? Was all she said. She was so rude. She needs to leave management to people who are able to make people welcome back again. So really don't go, don't waste your money or time, I spent 65 pounds for an hour or so there. Food was good, staff that served were good, my manners were impeccable, mistake was calling in to a local pub to say, sorry, but you've charged me for something that I didn't have. Shame on the owner.

Perfect food perfect hosts and my cockapoo was allowed to sit in the red leather chair with a blanket under her. The chef even brought my dog some lumps of meat in a bowl. The only place to eat in the area in my opinion. The fillet steak is beyond fantastic.

Lovely lasagne and garlic bread, the side salad was just lettuce. It should've had tomatoes, cucumber, and onions to be a 'salad'. The beef and ale pie looked excellant.

We had missed lunch and were starving so called into the pub before 5 on a Friday. We were initially the only ones in the dining room, but it soon began to fill. Service was extremely attentive and they were very accommodating when we asked for random extras! The food was very tasty with the toddler having chicken goujons, I had the pie and my husband the gammon. All were hot, well proportioned and extremely tasty. Overall, I would recommend and return. 2 courses for 3 people and drinks with sides were about £60 so reasonably priced too

Had a lovely night here tonite, came for the steak deal, Steaks were cooked wellI had the medium Sirloin an it was spot on, served with tomato, mushroom, chips and peas all well cooked , could have done with an onion ring too 😋 overall very nice meal . Only gripe is that it took a quite some time to actually get the food but overall a very enjoyable evening, thank you Kerry and staff 😊

Just had Sunday lunch, not been since last chef . Was very disappointed, veg raw, meat very fatty and not much of it to say I had a 4 meat. Yorkshire pudding was cremated .all staff are amazing great for a drink just need to find a good chef

Tonight what a disappointing experience, waited hour and 15 mins for meal to arrived, I had a starter which was not the wow factor simply a small slice of pate compared to the large bread roll and lettuce served with it. I complained and said I would not pay for mu main, then saw the bar staff and manager talking about our awful experience. The manager explained there was annew chef on which is welcoming however there should be no excuse on lengthy wait for service.

So disopted saw had all thease reviews ordered beef curry when arrived was beef stew no curry smell at all sent it bk asked for lasagna to find cherry tomatoes in it took a fork full to then got bay leaves in my mouth wouldn't go there ever again

The power of Google we was travelling through Crowle and decided to see what food places were about, we chose the Red Lion and what a good decision this was, nice and welcoming we went for the Haddock and chips special 2 for £16 very tasty.

Young bar staff a bit abrupt, as no hello, just a "what can I get you" and it's that it. No smile. Was shown to our table and given menu's by another young waitress, which was a lot better that the bar one. I ordered the Sunday lunch with glazed ham, took around 15mins to arrive, veg comes in a different dish. If your expecting roast potatoes your in for a shock 😲 as what you get is like a jacket potato cut in half ! I'm sorry but this just won't do on a Sunday roast !. Veg was a bit raw and took some sawing through! The mash potatoes were lumpy and grey in colour 🤢. All in all wasn't the best Sunday roast I've had, so unfortunately I won't be ordering that again. 😊

Friendly staff very helpfull. Dog friendly. Was recommended by friends to have one of their pies. Not dissapointed full to the brim with beef. Noticed on the menu banana flowers as vegan alternative, must try them one day. Nice restaurant area. Look out for special nights.

What a lovely restaurant! The food was fabulous, and very friendly, helpful staff. Booking advised at weekends - posted this a couple of years ago. Been back today to meet up with family - good grief! Over £10 for two drinks! Lovely staff but be sure to go loaded down with cash or have a mortgage in place!

Had a lovely meal. Restaurant nicely decorated. The painting of the lion on the wall is impressive and certainly not what you would be expecting to see. There were lovely little touches to red lions dotted everywhere. Fantastic atmosphere in the pub side where we watched Lady Monsoon. A great night had by all we will definitely visit again.

A VISIT TODAY IS OUR LAST .it was very very busy no where to sit .we asked if we could sit in a room that was dark no light on we was told NO MY HUSBAND IS DISABLED HE COULD NOT STAND AT THE BAR .HOW DISGUSTING THIS WAS AND EXTREMELY MEAN OF THE MANAGER .to refuse seating for a disabled gentle man never go again sickening

We had a belated celebration for the marriage of my son and daughter in law last week. Kerry made an enormous effort - the room looked lovely and the food was enjoyed by all. Staff very welcoming and accommodating. I would recommend this venue for any celebration! Thank you. Helen

It was the second time I went and this time it was a BIG SURPRISE from my in-laws who gathered to celebrate our wedding. Everything was perfect: the food, the decorations, everything. Thank you so much I will never forget!

We had steak pie can only describe it as awful I'm not an expert but it was not braising steak that you would expect in a pie it was chewy and tasteless. They took some money off the bill but no apology from the manager

After looking forward to a lovely meal with 4 friends for a celebratory Sunday lunch and reading positive reviews online, I was extremely disappointed with our experience. On entering, we were told we were very lucky to get a table (although there were several available tables). When chips were ordered (from the menu) we were told by the waitress, “the chef does not like making chips on a Sunday but I will ask”. These never arrived but were charged for on the final bill. The lamb shank was ordered but inedible as it was so tough and could not be removed from the bone. We requested to see the manager twice but never saw anyone and then waited a long time to pay the bill. The barman was clearly unhappy to take part cash part card payment and after muttering under his breath, we knew we would never be back.
