Great place for food, or for a drink during the week

Nice bar we had been in earlier I. The week with a good atmosphere and selection of drinks. However we aimed to call in tonight after getting off the train from Inverness at 22:20 on a Sunday but on arrival the door was locked and the member of staff sat in the window advised they were closed.

Great service. Great food. Great ambience. Can't fault. Friendly staff.

Ages since I've been here, but what a transformation following refurbishment. Pleasant little bar with nice staff and what looks like a separate dining area. We didn't dine but it looked very welcoming

Well. We can't really complain other that we travelled 3 hours both ways to visit the Red Lyon only to find it shut...even though it says it's open 9am -1.30pm on Fridays. An 81 year old who was so looking forward to having lunch and a couple of pints ....very sad. Then when I tried phoning, the number online is not recognised....shocking.

Sehr nettes Restaurant. Gutes Essen und freundlicher Service. Sehr zu empfehlen.

We decided to eat in the bar so glad we did, it was very nice warm and welcoming, I had the Haddock which was delicious and my husband had the Roast beef special which he said was equally as delicious. Naomi and Aymie are a credit to this pub.

Loved it. Amazing food, great service. Lovely ambience. Highly recommend it. Has free parking just around the corner which makes it really convenient. Highly recommend the Bonnie Beastie as its now called. 👌

one of the best places for lunch in moray, and service is ex !! It is now under new management, went into the lounge bar on Saturday night and went to order a pint, asked to leave as it was a private party, the service has been getting steadily worse under new management, and the lounge is now closed some nights during the week, this is the straw that broke the camels back, I'm giving it to stars and that's being generous!!

Went here with my mum for lunch. I had the buttermilk chicken burger and she had steak pie. They were both delicious and good prices. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Would recommend and will be back.

We arrived for a later lunch and we were told this was fine. However when we realised we didn't have enough chips for everyone we were not allowed to order more. We were also told it was fine to order dessert (I didn't have but everyone else did) and we were surprised the apple pie and ice cream wasn't a hot apple pie but a cold one. However all the hot food we did have was great and the beastie bites were amazing as usual. Drinks were kept topped and she was very helpful.

Best bar meals around moray....chef will cook anything for u. My Vegan wife had a vegan curry😋👍 lovely and chunky she said. Always good food here10/10. Staff very friendly.

We went out for birthday tea. Had a few blue pints. Food was tasty. Sticky toffee pudding was a good size. Good value for money

The staff were incredibly polite and accompanying. The tables and pub were all very clean and nothing seemed like it was too much of an issue.

Guter pub mit tollem Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen. Die Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr freundlich. Scheinbar ist es kein Geheimtipp, denn zumindest als wir da waren, war es relativ voll und dementsprechend etwas lauter

Four of us ate and had a drink for £30.00. The food was tasty, served hot and servings were plentiful. Staff were really pleasant and helpful and our surroundings were clean and attractive.. Toilets were great too .. Very clean with hot water and hand towels.. What more can a visitor ask for..

Just had a lovely meal in the 'Beastie' with some lovely friends. One word FABULOUS. Staff were lovely and so was the meal. We are in Forres just having a short holiday. Thoroughly 'all round' enjoyable HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great choice of food & drink. Family friendly, friendly staff, centre of town.

Historical location in Forres. Have a double single malt in the old jail yard smoking area. Piano available for customers. Malt of the month was £6 for a double.

First pub in Forres that I visited in 1981and I still enjoy going even though I don't drink alcohol anymore

The food was excellent, Cullen skink to start really good and not too heavy followed by roast of the day and a sticky toffee pudding, couldn't fault any of it and fairly priced. There's an excellent choice of drinks too.

A good menu choice available, fair beer selection coupled with wines and malt whisky to suit all. But most of all the bar service and chef were a credit to the bar.

Went in for a quick drink to warm up on a cold December day. The pub is 18th century in origin and has two distinct sides. We did not go into the bar so cannot comment on this area. We headed for the lounge/restaurant which was extreme well decorated and very inviting. We sat in two very comfortable chairs in front of a stove fire. We did not eat so cannot comment on the food. The staff were very professional and friendly. If you are in the area definitely worth a visit.

Went tp an organised quiz night - great!

First of asked for a soda water lime. All i got was soda water. The main meal was very nice and presented well. However the desert. Was at best corner shop quality fudge cake. That lacked taste, and appeal. And the side of custard bland and lumpy

Good local boozer. Great selection of craft beers, probably too many to try in one sitting. Usually has a pretty good atmosphere. Would recommend this place to any tourist thinking of going in here. There are two bars split in half by a corridor. The bar (and restaurant) in the left hand side is more chilled out so you can opt for a bit of peace and a chat or a bit of music and banter in the other bar.
