Red Lion in Ashfield

Was one of the best. now it's awful no drinkers or atmosphere. In need of a full refit inside and out.

Great service from Elliot. Would definitely be back. Really good atmosphere.

Went in scared to talk to people I talked to the owner he made me feel welcome and even gave me a jacket very LGBTQ friendly never felt so much happier than being with friends and people just like me 🥰🥰

I saw the red lion ön the high street and decised to go in and got sérves by a barmán called elliott the service was amazing he was friendly would come ágain

Came on a Sunday to do the karaoke and was amazed by the landlords singing and by the staff Elliotts service I would definitely come back again

Visited for the first time this week and had a great time the Staff were super friendly and provided a good Service .I meet the Landlord briefly and he seemed really nice and engaged with his staff and customers.The choice of drinks was great .I am not local to Hucknall but I would definitely visit again if passing through .

I have found this pub to be excellent since the change of landlord, and it is a credit the local area and himself and staff . The staff are very friendly especially a young lad called Elliott he is very friendly and helpful. It would be nice to see food served in the future as I think this would bring more trade into a great place.

jake was hilarious. spilled my drink and he shouted quick get a straw. he laughed didn't moan and cleaned it. he was so funny and understanding. my friend used to run this place and it's so nice to see a decent landlord once again. absolutely ace person

Landlord was lovely . The staff were great. The group of girls that hurled abuse at him as he called last orders very much could of tipped him. He dealt with it so well and asked them to leave. I see they have wrote a review . Sad to say they were swearing at him. Dealt with very well and he was ever so polite with us. Ashame that the bad group had to be so horrible to him tonight.

OVERALL horrible. came in saying there was only 3 minutes left till close came in qp minutes later open. managers have become rude wouldn’t come here again .

IF I COULD PUT 0 STARS, I WOULD 🚫🚫 After a solid recommendation from a friend, I believed Red Lion in Hucknall would be a fun night with the girls (for karaoke lol!) Wrong! We were immediately greeted with abhorrent aggression - immediately I felt unwelcome…. The time was precisely 9:45pm and we were nastily warned they were shutting in 2 minutes (who shuts at 9:47pm?!)! Appalling! We later walked back 10 minutes later AND THE PLACE WAS BOOMING WITH MUSIC!

Not sure what's happened here but I used to visit now and then when down that way and it used to be an amazing atmosphere, packed out on weekends. Now it's more like a morgue both with the life and atmosphere. Unfortunately it'll be the last time I'll be visiting. Maybe bring back previous owners who had it all so right??

This pub has definitely gone down hill since they’ve had new owners. The pub used to be so full of life be so full and busy with all karaoke songs playing and just lovely environment but now it’s so bare nobody is in there. I went in and I sat outside with my friends whilst thinking what to order from the bar, one of the people who owned it came out and stared at us and just kept looking at us making us feel uncomfortable (we were the only people there so it was quite clear they was staring at us). Service was awful I asked for a drink and didn’t even get a response , (the person serving was being polite to others just not me for some random reason I’d never been here before since they’ve had new owners) just got the drink I asked for lime and got ignored I then asked again she put one in my drink but didn’t say yes or anything just kept ignoring me. Totally rude staff wouldn’t ever even think about telling anyone to come and have a pint here. Total waste of space the decor is hideous. Just all in all a bad place. Don’t waste your money

Fabulous place to be now new management are involved to. make it a community place, as well as lots of events & gigs. Live bands have been excellent. Now a great Doggo friendly pub as well woohoo

I love this traditional friendly pub. Always a great fun atmosphere with great customer service. Staff are always striving to make your stay as pleasant as possible and the landlady Clair is so friendly and approachable. Prices are great with an extensive drinks menu. Lovely log fire for welcoming you in from the cold. If you want a great time within a lovely traditional pub the Red Lion is your go to place.

Lovely staff, great beer on tap and a great selection in bottles. And omg the warm pork scratchings are amazing... If you're on a pub crawl drop in, if you're on a walk then it's a perfect pit stop, Friday and Saturday night are always fun with karaoke where nobody cares if you can sing, as long as you're enjoying yourself. And not forgetting the dancing doormen

Great local pub, always has been but seems to get better. Staff are great and a nice drink too. Cant stand karaoke but others do so put up with it. I would recommend a visit daytime or evening.

Been AGAIN to the annual kids Halloween part as per normal Clair Whiffin-Honey pulled it out the bag kids loved every minute of it thought last year was good but you certainly gone 1 better one things for you never fail to deliver - always a great time and atmosphere at the lion

The most welcoming and friendly pub to frequent! A great pint and very reasonably priced. The whole team are wonderful and during colder times they have the best log fire which they are not shy on keeping stoked up!

The heart of the town and always a friendly place to visit, bar staff doorstaff and management are absolutely amazing. You are always made welcome here by all and the punters. They have karaoke on Friday nights and a medium mid week with plenty of raffles going on. Plus on special occasions a live band. By far 1 of the best pubs bar in Hucknall.. very busy at the weekends if you single..always abit of eye candy in there for all. Well done to the full team in the heart of the town.. Red Lion.xxx

Fuxking awesome night . Always made welcome and safe toilets are the best in Hucknall clean well maintained the staff are always there for you they will go far for ALL customers old and new couldn't wish for a better pub oh and the atmosphere is bang on

Had rate it one star as there isn’t one less to rate pub is a dump toilets are nothing less then disgusting

It was ok. This was 6 months ago. Have been going in quite regular at the weekends. Have found not only the bar staff very friendly and helpful but security staff very friendly too. Great nights. I, personally really like the pub.

The Red Lion in Hucknall is such a welcoming pub. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Pets are welcome here too which is a huge bonus as I won’t go out without my gorgeous dog, Murphy. Clair, the landlady is lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

Great place for a drink, regular live music and good sized beer courtyard. Lively friendly, family run place. Proper pub.
