Bought the set meal for two takeaway it’s the worst I have ever had. There was loads of it but It didn’t taste nice. I couldn’t eat any of it! Hubby tried to eat some of the meat. It was expensive £35 We are so disappointed.

Nothing more to say except "six black hairs in my takeaway curry". Despite several previous takeaway orders with this place I will now never use them again. One might have been forgiveable, but how on earth does someone leave six black hairs in a light coloured korma? Disgusting.

Had gorgeous chicken tikka jalfrezi, coconut rice, chips etc but ordered online and requested delivery after 19:25 and no earlier. Confirmation email said 18:50 so I phoned them and they said we would not get the delivery before 19:25. It came at 19:05. The food is delicious but why let people request a time if you’re determined to deliver early?? We had to microwave it at 19:25!!

We were in two minds whether to order, since our previous review (May 2021) was disappointing, but remembering the October 2020 food was so good, we decided to go for it. A great decision; the food was a whole lot better and we enjoyed it so much that we will confidently order again in the future. Delicious chicken tikka jalfrezi, coconut rice and chips. Xx

Have used Red Chilli many times, less so during lockdown, but last week my cousin and I ordered separate takeaway meals on the Samar night, arrived at the restaurant, obviously work to refurbish going on, no Covid measures in place but hey, I understand Ordered lamb tikka balti, not sure what cousin ordered but it arrived a few minutes apart, and ate at separate houses OMG it was terrible, so watery and just not the same unlit you as before, I rang my cousin, his meal was not great and very watery but we both put it down to the alterations etc The next day we find out that it’s been taken over by Mr Sadek from Shildon tandoori I contact him to let him know that we had two very poor meals, he offered a 15% discount for us to go again, but not enough in my book ! Have contacted him twice since, no reply, then today I meet two other friends from Redworth who ordered from Red Chilli and are regular customers, it arrived 90 minutes early, the lamb dish was chicken, and very poor quality and watery Mr Sadek told me that they have the same chef, so what is the problem ! Poor quality ingredients !! The fact is that it’s not as good as Red Chilli used to be, and it’s a real shame I await your response Mr Sadek

Hasn’t ordered for a While due to the cost (£30 for two) but really looked forward to it as last time it was fabulous (see October 2020 review. This time, the chicken tikka jalfrezi had a weird after taste. The coconut rice was dry. The onion Bhaji left orange coloured grease on the plate. What has happened?? New owner? New chef?!

Had a gorgeous takeaway here last Saturday. Food was amazing. Chicken tikka jalfrezi was just the right heat and tasted amazing. Coconut rice was just sublime. They even gave us a free naan bread. Chips that we shared - lovely thick and crispy/fluffy. Hubbie said his chicken tikka balti and pilau rice was spot on. Ace. Big thumbs up. Thank you xx

We have just had our first take a way from here and not only did it arrive cold it was by far the worst Indian meal we have ever had . Needless to say it ended up in the bin. We will stick to shildon tandoori which as dropped of at late but nowhere near as bad as this

After eating with friends in-house a few weeks ago I ordered a King Prawn Bhuna take away last week. While the sauce was very tasty, the Prawns were absent and fish of some sort was cut in small pieces and used instead. Had this before in some Indian restaurants but not in the better ones of which I have visited many in the past two years. Won’t be going back.

Came here with another couple and ordered the banquet for four. The food was gorgeous and there was plenty of it. Poppadoms and pickle tray, mixed kebabs, then lamb Rogan's Josh, prawn bhuna, chicken tikka masala, and chicken jalfrezi, 4 different rices, a mushroom bhaji and vegetable bhaji. We were stuffed. The restaurant is cosy and the staff are very attentive. We will be back.

This was our first visit to this area. We had tried another Indian but had not booked so was turned away. We found this restaurant when driving by on the way back to hotel. So glad we did. The place is quite small but the staff are very friendly. The food came out piping hot and was delicious and you had a lot in each portion. I had tandoori chicken masala and you had lots of large pieces of chicken in a rich sauce. You definitely get value for money and we could not eat all of our meal due to the size of portions. Definitely would visit again if we are ever in the area. Highly recommend this place.

We've just tried the Red Chilli and, wow, the place and food is fantastic. The restaurant is small but beautifully authentic and a lovely setting. We had tandoori mixed platter and a chicken Bhuna with the usual bread and rice sides. Both main courses were high quality. Generous portions of nicely seasoned tender meat with the Bhuna sauce amazing. Definitely worth staying local if you're looking for high quality Indian food. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated with circular, booth style, seating at some tables. One small issue is the fact that takeaway orders are taken by drivers through the small restaurant disturbing diners slightly. If they find a rear exit for takeaways it will make things even better. Highly recommended

The Red Chilli Indian Restaurant was recommended, so here we go, The Staff were very professional on the phone, very friendly, we were ordering a takeaway to be delivered out of there radius, great communication, the wife wasnt vey hungry which was just as well , because her order wasn't delivered a slight mishap on there side, after a message on Facebook messenger, I said no problem , just credit it for next time and sure there will be a next time bad point out of the way, the food was good, side salad chopped tomatoes and onions tasty, all were piping hot which makes a change from takeaways that are only 5 mins away, it is easy a 25 min drive, overall , give it a go

This is without any doubt the best Indian takeaway we've ever used. We've had many Indian takeaways and from all over the world, Perth Australia, Florida, Vancouver, Liverpool, Evian France as well as various parts of North East England. The chef owns the restaurant and has won gold awards including for being the best takeaway in the North East in a respected and regular competition. Superb We still eat regularly at Masala Tandoori. It never lets us down. Every dish is delicious - if you like it mild - just say so, it's never a problem. Thoroughly recommended always a treat.
