Food was always great I have now changed my mind about the food it's gone downhill big time, and I no longer order food from here. It's a shame really but after the last 6 orders have decided to stop wasting my money.

Probably the best chip shop in the local area. Have tried a fair few and can't beat this one. Fast even though it's always busy!

wow, Mini cod & chips. piping hot, worth the wait whilst cod was cooking. Huge portion & the price £6.80. Certainly better value for what you pay at other "centre" chippies @ nearly double price!

Great chippy, and good value. There a few good chippys locally but the others tend to take advantage and be on the pricey side. This is the best of both, excellent food, and not as expensive as some of the others. Staff always great and friendly and service is very quickly normally. Can be a queue at peak times but that because it's popular for a reason!

There was more food in the picture but i ate it because it’s so good! Battered hallumi is always banging food is always hot when i get home, best chips in redditch and best curry sauce! Can never go wrong here it’s always good. This cost me £6.80 4 battered hallumi sticks medium chips and a curry sauce i think this is a bargain for food that tastes this nice! I think to make the chips even better you should start ordering onion vinegar, it is top tier x

Rectory Road Fish Bar Tried this place for the first time tonight and was truly blown away by the food. Prices are less than most the chippies with tinned roe at £2 and 5 fish bites at £2.20 and small chips at £2.50. The portion was really good, fish bites were big and the tinned roe lovely and soft. The chips were really tasty but I ended up wrapping half of it for tomorrow because I couldn’t eat it all (eyes bigger than my belly ☺️). The food was ‘fanbloodytastic’ and the staff were super nice. Please if you haven’t tried it you must because they are the best chip shop in Redditch!!!! I will definitely use it again ❤️

Just had mini fish chips x two the fish was terrible tasted not right been using once a week since you opened this is third time the fish has been not right shame but won't use again the one owner all ways speaks the other never will miss the place but no good lately

Tiny portion and like Julie's review, I have been given a child like mini fish and chips by the tall lad. Won't be paying £7 for this again.

Possibly the worst place to have fish and chips from. Soggy small kebabs, will never use this chip shop again. And this is second time this has happened £8.80 for this……..

Good place to get your chippy. Can be chaotic at times and hard to get your order in but the staff are very nice and friendly.

The food is always lovely, been going here regularly for the past 10 years but the portion sizes have shrunk dramatically by almost 50% & is no longer good value for money so have now since started going elsewhere

Always been my go to chippy however the food portions was appalling. Mixed donner very small portion and very tight with salad and sauce! Was really hungry not long after my meal Shame because this used to be the place I would recommend to anyone.

An excellent chip shop, we visit regularly and the food is always fresh and tasty. They do get very busy during peak times so be prepared to wait. In response to Julie's review, you haven't been served a child's portion, in recent months the general portion size has reduced significantly. A medium portion is now very, very small. I completely understand that material prices and operation costs have increased during this time, but I believe customers would favour an increase in retail prices to reflect this rather than a reduction in portion size, which have seemingly shrunken by as much as 50%.

We go regularly to this chippy The food is always excellent. The portions are good too however, there is a tall young lad who has served us twice and has given us child portions for the same price has anyone else had the same experience? We will not be getting served by him again.

This chip shop consistently delivers..I'm not big on takeaways but Rectory road has always delivered on quality every time I've had their fantastic fish and chips quite a few time, always amazing... Tonight, well it is Christmas, we went for a couple of kebabs....OMG... Taste and presentation were spot on.. So I can safely say a 10/10.. Well done to all Rectory Rd... There's a good reason you have queues out the door and down the road...and why I drive past 3 other chip shops to get to yours... Keep up the good work, quality food and competivly priced menu.. This used to be the best fish and chip shop in Redditch. We visited last night, but were disappointed with the portion size of chips we received. They attempted to make up for it with a special deal, but even that portion was smaller than expected. The quality of the chips was poor, possibly due to low-quality or unclean oil, or perhaps they were refried. They lacked freshness and flavour. The battered sausage and peas were acceptable, but overall, our experience was very disappointing. We will now have to find a new favourite fish and chip shop.

Probable the best fish and chips I've ever eaten

I have food here most weeks. Kebab is good and fish bites are nice. Southern fried chicken is great. Chips are nice enough but the curry sauce isn't great. Sometimes like it's watered down too much to have any taste. It must be good though because we keep coming back.

Been about 3 or 4 times. The food has been consistently excellent. Like others have said - "the best chippy we've ever been to." Gets very busy - the queue is always out of the door - I'd say that's a good sign. On a dog walk yesterday and noticed a Rectory Road Chippy bag on the dinning table in the house 2 doors from Astwood Bank Chippy! That's another good sign IMO. I'd rather eat from here than Restaurant Gordon Ramsay @ £500 a head - that was disappointing! Maybe Rectory should get the stars instead of effing Ramsay! LOL!

The best fish And chips in Redditch, and I've tried them all , their quality is so consistent it's unreal for the fast food industry from my observation! I hope they keep it up

Slightly off the beaten path to find, but we'll worth the effort. Food is always fresh, and it's my go-to place for a kebab. Staff friendly and more than enough on for quick service. Highly recommended 👌

Just ordered sausage chips and curry sauce, literally a handful of chips and the curry sauce taste so watered down it was not edible, if I was sat in the car eating I would of taken it back

Used to be really excellent, but they've recently reduced portion sizes and put up their prices. Quality has dropped down a bit too. Attached photo is supposed to be a 'medium' chips.

Been all around the country sampling chippy and this one is the best by miles. Consistently top quality food and the serving ladies have good banter. (Phone your order for collection. Much quicker)

My wife orders haddock yesterdays 1st time in a while. The food was very oily chips included more than usual. Not surprisingly the whole family suffered from upset stomach the whole night.

Ordered a mini fish and got a large, rare treat as it was defective. The guy cooking the food was very friendly.

Southern fried chicken was poor quality with not many chips which tasted like they'd been left over from lunch time , service was also poor the food was just thrown together. Friday night is not an excuse for poor food I won't be returning

Used to be high quality but recently gone down hill. Portions have shrunk and the quality has tanked on the chips. On top of that, they're enforcing a completely arbitrary £7 spending limit out of nowhere, against the policy of pretty much every major card network. This limit is being reported to MasterCard/Visa and your service will be suspended.

Always good service and the food is very nice. The young people behind the counter work very hard to keep the queues down.

I ordered the small fish and chips with curry sauce and my partner ordered the mixed kebab and it was honestly the best chip shop food we both have ever had.

Polite friendly service. Luke warm pie which spoilt meal plus chips were a bit soggy texrure . Not sure how long pie was sat there but surely after they go cold they should be thrown away . I Like my food piping hot. Not horrible but very average.

Very polite helpful service. Good quality fish and generous for a small portion. Hot cooked but soggy fish and chips. It's probably down to personal taste. Ideally twice cooked chips but prefer my fish and chips cooked in extremely hot oil producing a crisp surface texture.

Last 2 occasions ive been really DISSAPOINTED..had portion of chips and took home..to describe the portion is poor. Size ok for £2.50. But 50% are just bits of potato and crispy but greasy. The actual chips which are small 1.5 inches long at best and thin..these gel together and are saturated in oil which was sickly...never again

Great chip shop. Foods very good value for money. Parking can be an issue as its down a side road by the church and houses but not the chip shops fault. The staff are friendly and service is usually very quick.

The staff are great also the food and they don't try to cut back on the chips

For my money, this is possibly the best chippy in the town. The name of the game is consistency. The quality is ALWAYS there in the food. I don't go anywhere else now. Fish and chips has gone up price wise big style, so it's ever more important that one feels that the maximum bang per buck is being delivered. And this establishment really serves up a treat that's top quality (that word again...! ) and excellent value.

Good food… but actually trying to get through to the place to put your order on is an absolute shambles… definitely need to sort that out as phone constantly engaged/phone off hook for about 45 minutes. I won’t be using this place again as really pushed me over the edge with constantly fighting to get through.

Lost 3 stars because, unbelievably we were charged an extra £1.20 for "wrapping paper" a charge which will not be found on their price list. £1.20 for 2 sheets of white paper plus a brown paper bag. How else are we going to get our fish & chips home?

Me and my wife decided to try all the local fish and chip shops to the area and rectory road was 4th on the list however we have now abandoned the list as we simply don't want to eat from anywhere but here!!!! Portion size is for Americans and the cost is spot on

Had take away once and was better than my last experience. The chips were soggy for some reason, don't understand that. On street parking only but plenty off and off main road, so you'll find a place to park. Very busy plaice (punt intended)! Enjoy 💥

One of those nights you fancy a good "Chippy" tea. Best in Redditch Rectory road. Fish perfect, beautiful batter. Curry sauce ok. Chips ,two large portions of "Modge" . Won't be going back for a good while, probably best to call in and get them, charged £1.50 to pre order by phone. Disappointed.

I had fish and chips from here a few weeks ago while visiting from New Zealand. I haven't stopped thinking about it, it was soooo good! Will definitely be back next time I'm in the UK :)

Half the order wasn't put in the bag and then when we went back for it they blamed us.. said we didn't pick it up off the side, but the rest of the food was bagged for us. Pie was wrong and bits missing from order. Attitude of the girls was disgusting. All round bad experience

This shop has been there forever. It's an odd plaice for a fish shop with no other shops adjacent. Still good fish and chips and nice and clean.
