There's a lot to like about this eatery. If your local and you have ever been to Farmers Fayre at the NAC then you will feel relatively comfortable with what you find here. Quality food made with decent ingredients at a price that reflects that. Me and my wife went here for lunch on her birthday and we generally enjoyed the experience. Wait times in the que were a little on the long side, but this is testament to the quality and loyal following that the establishment has (READ: can be busy) The serving staff were attentive, friendly and polite. The tables were kept nice and clean and despite how busy the venue was it was relatively easy to find a seat. On a summers day the outside seating options look like they would be very welcoming, sadly the British weather was not conducive to testing that theory so we settled for an inside seat. One thing i will say is that with bare, corrugated in places, plastered in others walls - the acoustic makes for an echoey and noisy environment, so whilst clean, modern and well kept, eating inside is not the most enjoyable experience. I had a Latte and a House Burger, whilst my good lady had the farmers platter. Food was, as mentioned of a good quality, however, I did find my burgers patties to be somewhat under seasoned, making them a somewhat bland filler compared to the gherkins, chutney, salad and bun. My wife is quite particular when it comes to food, but she very much enjoyed her farmers platter. As stated earlier, the quality of the foods ingredients is reflected in the prices, whilst not super expensive, it's not super cheap either. All in all we enjoyed our visit, and are looking forward to coming back.

I didn’t think it was possible to make a roast dinner so bland!! Roast potato’s were soft and mushy, vegetables watery and the mash was hard, but the worst thing there was Zero seasoning - the only reason i scored a 3 was the beef was delicious - go for the roast roll instead cheaper and delicious

Had the most amazing Jacket potato with cheesy leeks and bacon here a few months back. Could not wait to come and have it again. Sorry to say very disappointed today. Could not taste any cheese in the cheesy leeks and the portion of bacon vastly reduced. All in all very bland and tasteless.

We were lucky enough to book on to this year’s sell out Breakfast with Santa, in Rebecca’s Kitchen at Malt Kiln Farm.Me, my husband and our 9 month old all tucked into a scrummy breakfast, while Santa greeted us, before we had a photo taken with him. He then read the children a festive story and handed out presents. It was such a fantastic and magical morning and a memory that we will treasure. Seeing how excited all of the kids were really swept us adults into the magic of Christmas.Father Christmas was brilliant and our visit was completed by the wonderful (some mischievous!) elves who really looked after us.Will definitely book on for next year again and would even suggest going bigger in 2019 - put on more dates and maybe do something with the small shed outside, you’ll be sure to fill all the seats!

We visit the farm shop for veg and meat every week so when we were looking for somewhere to meet family for breakfast this seemed like the natural choice. Six of us visited on Saturday morning for breakfast, we were all disappointed. Hard yolked fried eggs, over cooked bacon, four of us had finished before the last two meals appeared (after having to chase for them). At £10.50 for a 'big breakfast' we were expecting something special - if the deli in Brinklow can deliver special for a lot less than this surely it shouldn't be difficult for a cafe in a farm shop with on site butchers!Disappointing experience that we won't be repeating.

I went for lunch with my mum and daughter. We made the mistake of going in the week between Leicestershire and Rugby half terms. The cafe was so busy and for some reason they didn’t have all their high chairs out. I counted 3 being used in the cafe but I know from visiting regularly before and since (for a baby class) that they have several more high chairs. Because it was so busy they didn’t have a specials board so the menu was VERY limited. Also there were no children’s menu’s out so when I got to the front of the queue to order, I had to make a snap decision on what to get for my daughter, if i’d had time to think about it, I’d have definitely got her something different. The food took ages to come out, which was expected because they were so busy. I wasn’t entirely sure that my quiche was fully cooked. This is the second time we’ve been and neither was a particularly good experience. The first time we put it down to them just opening. I won’t be eating here again, it’s too chaotic and stressful unfortunately. I’d consider going for a coffee if it was quiet.

I took my two children to do some ‘pick your own’ on their pumpkins. This, they enjoyed and was well thought out. However, as it was lunchtime by the time we finished I decided we’d give the cafe a try.Be warned! At busy times the food is very late coming out and way over priced!I ordered a bowl of soup for me and two sets of the children’s ham sandwiches off the kids menu.It took 40 minutes to get to us which is ridiculous for soup and sandwiches and the children’s food was not worth the wait!! Now, if you order a sandwich you expect two slices of bread and a filling. All they got, was one slice folded in half and cut into two small squares! This cost £2.25, so £4.50 for one whole sandwiches, two slices of bread, for two children!!!!! So, with the cost of nearly £4 for two juices cartons and nearly £3 for one small glass bottle of juice for me, I had spent just shy of £20 for very little food, of which was very late. Soup and sandwiches do not take 40 minutes to make. Needless to say, will not be visiting again!

We love coming here for PYO strawberries, pumpkins etc. The kids have a great time. The farm shop and cafe are expensive but generally are at these types of places. I have to say though, the chocolate brownie I had when I was in the cafe last week was not only huge but the nicest one I've ever had (and I've had a few!).There's a lovely little outdoor play area for the kids. I think the only improvement they could make is to have something indoor for kids, a little toy corner or colouring table etc.

Such a great place with such poor staffThe cafe was lovely, food was good but overpriced. Milkshake was yummy, with a paper straw! The shop had a great selection although we couldn’t find any pork pies?! The lady butcher seemed actually offended that we had asked her where the pork pies were - she then carried on chatting to her college before eventually coming over to serve us.There was also a member of staff with a trolley of potatoes blocking the aisle, leaning on the deli counter chatting away to her colleague. We waited for her to notice we wanted to get past but she didn’t, so we pushed her trolley out of the way several times, meanwhile the whole time she hadn’t noticed! The lady at the deli counter told us they had no pork pies - which I was shocked at! Staple farm shop produce! The young lad who served us was lovely - my receipt says his name was Robert. Although he overcharged me, I went back to get my money back and was served by someone else. She called someone over and I got the impression from both of them that I was causing them a massive inconvenience and I had to actually apologise! The best part of the visit was the pick your own - still so many beautiful strawberries at this time of year.

It was well prepared but disappointing. No gluten free sausage option. Not sure how many sausages or bacon were intended but the ‘light’ breakfast was one of each. If they thought three bacon was an adequate sub for no gf sausages then that’s how they make their profit - being tight. Asked for no beans, got beans! Those few scraps of mushroom were too small. For an £11 breakfast this was no where near enough. It was supposed to come with coffee but I payed for more than the two breakfasts so they must have charged me for coffees. After ordering gluten free breakfasts, coffee came with a wheat flour biscuit - lack of attention to detail/poor service.Mainly went to have a look at their butchers counter. Didn’t buy anything. Won’t ever go back.

Malt Kiln Farm is a hidden gem on the Fosse Way within 20 mins drive of Coventry, Rugby, Hinckley and Nuneaton. Pick your own fruit and vegetables are available thought the season from June to October. Home grown produce is available in the farm shop including fresh frozen fruit; strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, blueberries, red-currants and rhubarb. All food produce is excellent quality and so worth the value especially as it supports local farms and businesses. Rebecca’s Kitchen offers generous portions of delicious food. We really enjoyed a healthy super salad with citrus dressing which inspires me to make it at home. There is seating inside and out and the ambiance is uplifting and relaxing. It’s a great afternoon out for families and friends or as we did, couples. The whole farm is clean, well presented, professional yet homely. Car parking is excellent also with an overflow car park. Came for brunch this Sunday and we were really disappointed not only by the food but also the "relaxed" attitude of the staff.Firstly the Eggs benedict came with over cooked poached eggs but on top of the muffin which had not be cut in half or toasted just sat in the bowl!. The veggie breakfast had hard "baked" avocado and when I asked for gluten free bread that arrived after the meal... The food was very average but to be honest when giving the order and the girl "ellie" behind the till was leaning on her arm looking totally bored it didn't bode well. Its a shame as being from a local village this would be somewhere we would come and especially as it is licensed. The food needs to improve and it needs to create some ambience before we will be back.

This was my first visit to the new cafe since it reopened following the devastating fire last year. I saw reviews claiming the coffee and food were unduly pricy but I did not find that to be the case at all.The cafe is much bigger (as is the farm shop) and obviously very new; it is a bit lacking in atmosphere being big light and open and could do with something to soften it as it is a bit like a big canteen right now.The coffee was good but not hot enough, even the second cup which we asked to be extra hot was no more than warm, which was a shame. The sausage sandwiches were fine but without garnish looked a bit dull. Maybe they should visit some of the competition to get a few ideas? I am hoping these are teething troubles and will get sorted because I liked it before and would really like them to do well.

We have been regular customers at this farm shop for a couple of years and supported them during the re building after the fire. The new building is far superior to the previous one and the range of food items is excellent. Paying for your items is much simpler now the till queueing system has been sorted. The staff are friendly and helpful (butchery & deli counters). The cafe is roomy with plenty of mixed seating so no problems for those with mobility issues. The toilets are immaculate. However, this is a cafe not a restaurant. A basic breakfast is around £10.00 drinks not included, far too much for breakfast food. A good range of gluten free cakes are available and the coffee is fine. Stick to light lunches and good cafe style food, prepared and served well.

We sampled the fresh bread and treated ourselves to an old fashioned style pat of butter, with the ham and chicken for sandwiches. Not having much time for cooking we had lunch in the restaurant on one day; the special were delicious, particularly the courgette and Stilton crumble with vegetables , and the butchers sausages and mashed new potatoes. We will definitely be back for a return visit when next in Brinklow.

Visited today for grocery shopping and some brekkie in the farm shop restaurant. The layout of the new farm shop is very odd - space not well utilised and lots of products at floor level, not ideal for those with bad backs! The restaurant is extortionately expensive!! A full cooked breakfast is nearly £11... And doesn't include hash browns, black pudding or toast. No drink either. Just bacon, sausage, a mushroom, poached egg and vine tomatoes. A bacon buttie came in at £5.50. Massively overpriced and a lot of their other customers seemed to agree - didn't see many folk eating. Mind you, with.a latte coming in at £3.30, drinks were overpriced too. No idea on the cost of a slice of cake - no prices on anything... Quality was fine, but not worth the money. Strongly advise anyone wanting the farm shop/dining experience to go to Farndon Fields at Market Harborough - they do it right and for a very reasonable price...

We have been here several times a year over the past few years to pick fruit and buy cheese and bread etc.. The tempry shop is doing the job until the new building is finished. The strawberries are the best we have tasted, our 2 year old loves picking his own and now is the perfect time of year for them.. the raspberries are also nearly ready. There is a tempry toilet on-site and plenty of goods in the farm shop including hot drinks and fresh from the oven sausages rolls the last time we visited on the 23rd of June.we look forward to returning and seeing the new shop/cafe.

Malt Kiln Farm Shop is quite simply lovely. There are some beautifully cooked locally grown produce served up. Who can complain at that?! Plus, the items you can buy in the shop are lovely too...In fact some Gloucester Old Spot sausages I bought from here helped with a job interview I had many years ago!

After their terrible arson induced fire they have worked had to get part of the business back up running. Called in today, new building with butcher, cheese counter and vegetable, salad, etc all up to same high quality as before. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff ensure a pleasant visit. Still a lot of work to do to re-instate the restaurant and other areas but well worth a visit to support them.

Been here a few times and every time the kids love it, picking their own fruit provides them with at least 45 minutes of fun. The staff are nice and it's still really good even though there was a fire not long ago. It's all reasonably priced which is a bonusHighly recommended and we'll be back soon

What a lovely little farm! A wide selection of pick your own, fruit and veg, at very reasonable prices. Layout very well thought through, great markers and advice boards for where to locate their tastiest offerings. Lovely little shop with a great selection of produce. A nice spot for a family picnic too. Have just tucked into our bounty of fruit and can safely say it's the best I've ever tasted

We had a blast picking our own fruit and vegetables, the farm shop was well stocked considering their recent misfortune. I took my 5 year old and a small baby in a carrier which was easier than using a pram - you could use one in a pinch but it will be rugged and narrow in places. There were 5+ picnic benched, we will definitely bring a picnic next time!

After arriving at Malt Kiln, we're appawled to see the unnecessary fire damage caused by arson on the main building but glad to see they were doing everything possible to keep the show on the road.Temporary portable toilets in the car park and a temporary tent outside the burnt building to pay and buy the produce. Glad to see facilities like card payment still available from a tent! Good effort.Wide selection of Pick your Own in the fields. We took advantage of Rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries, broad beans and courgette. Seemed reasonable in price, not the cheapest we have been to but the quality matched the price in my opinion.Staff were friendly but quite a few lacked basic knowledge of the product being sold which is a shame if you need help.Very large pick your own area and plenty of each fruit or veg in season. This is the second year here and will return no doubt next!Shame about the people who abuse the pick your own by eating more than they buy or sitting there podding all the broad beans! We all had a sneaky taste as I am sure everyone does but limit yourselves and have some dignity!

I have visited Malt Kiln Farm Shop many many times and over the years they have extended and vastly improved the shop and most recently the restaurant. The fruit and vegetables are of the very best quality, the Deli counter has amazing choice several times I have brought quiches that have literally just come out of the oven. The butches department is also excellent with a wide variety of home reared meat. The staff I have found are very helpful especially on the meat counter as one reviewer also mentioned.I read in the paper about the shop being the target of an arson attack but with temporary buildings erected they were open for business selling limited stock. I made a visit yesterday as I normally do on a Monday and was totally shocked to see the devastation before me the whole building had been burned to the ground. But to see two lovely ladies behind a make shift counter with smiling faces knowing what devastation was behind them was a very humbling experience. Please support these lovely people and encourage your family and friends to visit.Lizzie H

We have visited before for a meal also to buy meat, cheese, plants and veg from this excellent farm shop and garden center. But what a shock when we turned into the driveway, we were told they had had an arson attack and all the buildings and covered areas had been fire damaged, so the only thing available was pick your own fruit facility and a small veg stall. Heart breaking for the owner and staff, it will take time to re-establish, what a loss to the community.

We went for breakfast on Father's Day. We hadn't booked a table but managed to find a table for 4, however they were very busy and many of the tables were reserved but remained empty the whole time we were there - so some people struggled to find a table. But the food and service were excellent. We were very impressed with the cooked breakfast and will definitely return

The Malt Kiln is predominantly a farm shop which stocks lots of goodies for foodies. The Butcher provides an excellent range of cuts of meat and will advise re cooking. The shop also stocks a small range of essentials but has a good range of frozen fruit/ready meals/patisserie. If you are into jam making, the pick your own is a must. I have picked pounds of soft fruit which is now residing in jars in the form of jam, some also in my freezer. The cafe serves light meals and lunches and there is regular exhibitions of art and crafts. The garden centre is small but does offer a range of plants. The centre itself is disabled friendly.

Found the staff friendly and attentive, especially the butchers. On the second visit we stocked up with plenty of produce which was excellent. Brilliant breakfast on both visits - couldn't finish it all the first time (mighty breakfast so went for the lighter option the second time), it's really good quality food cooked to order so don't mind a short wait. Get there early for breakfast though as it gets busy so this is possibly where some peoples grumbles come from. Will definitely be back!

Although we live in Coventry we enjoy ride through the countryside to the farm shop. We go at least twice a month. The selection of vegetables always fresh, salad, fruit, then onto the homemade bread, selection of batches different breads, the buns yesterday looked delicious. Then comes the butchers, the choice is brilliant with different things to supermarkets, can recomend tucked chicken, and lovely pork chops, skirt for stews, and they are only too willing to help if you are unsure of how to cook. Onto the cheese counter which must have one of the best selections for a small business I have seen. Cooked meats and their home made pork pies are brilliant. Next after the entrance to the resturant is the frozen foods which contain Gluten free sausages and burgers, which my fussy husband will recommend. Then comes a ltarge selection of sauces, oils, jam, etc. inthe next area are blubs, potatoe seed, toys etc.etc. then ouside are the plants and again a super selection. Must not forget pick your own strawberries in the summer. The eggs are also the tops especially the exra large ones. As we only come from Coventry we only have a drink and look at the art works done by locals. Worth a trip but take your purse if you have one. We do not have shares or relatives here just enjoy how through hard work they have grown over the years.

I am trying hard to avoid the main supermarkets and buy produce that helps local farmers. My two main farm shops are the Manor farm shop on A5 and This one. Mostly this one because it has slightly more stock. The Butchers are always ready to help and have given me lovely produce whenever I have visited. The cheese counter has small varieties to tempt your palette. fresh bread that in my mind is slightly over priced but enjoyable, and the ONLY place around where I could get a large bag of red spuds that actually tasted of something. Not tried the cafe yet but may do so this week. All in all the farm shop is worth visiting

We went to the Malt Kiln Cafe earlier in the year and decided to go back last weekend, we went for the Mighty Breakfast this time. The service was excellent and we did not have to wait along time for the breakfast to be served, everything on the plate was beautifully cooked, with my husband's eggs being doubled yoked. We can't fault the breakfast so I would definitely tell people to try it.
