Used to be good - see previous reviews - but now seems to be permanently closed. And it's NOT in Gillingham - it's in South Street, Dorchester (perhaps the DT1 postcode gives that away!). Pity that TA can't be more accurate - this could be misleading.

The decor is quirky and the food is very good. We had pork stew which came with crackling on top and was absolutely delicious, yes the tables are a bit squashed but the food makes up for that.

Very odd looking place. First of all put off by very miserable looking female staff. But as we had a small dog with us we decided as they were happy and had space we would stay. Glad we did. Very nice young man served us eventually. Confusing menu and specials board but he knew all the answers to loads of questions. Which was good as we had a vegetarian and a coeliac in our group. The food was great, we all enjoyed our choices. Soupand gluten free bread, mushrooms on toast with a poached egg, and fish finger sandwiches which were huge and very popular. One tip, if you are going to use heritage China, sterlizeto remove-old tea stains in cups. It looks dirty otherwise. Devote very unusual. Some chairs need more attention mine was Brocken at the back and too rickety to be safe. People todayare bigger then when 1950s chairs were made and they need to be strong enough. I’m under ten stone and I felt unstable my male friend could not have sat on it and he is not overweight At All!

As a birthday present I had received a voucher for a cream tea with a friend of mine. It was delicious and we will certainly go back there a nice environment and very nice food and drinks.

All the food is homemade here and the cakes are amazing, the banana split is something else, didn't think I would be able to eat it all (but I managed just) All lovely mismatched bone china crockery and the way the waitresses are dressed adds to the quirkiness

We keep trying different places around Dorchester but keep coming back to Reloved. It's a lovely qwerky little place, great food, fairly priced, the staff are always very friendly and very work hard. It's always busy which says it all really. If you want to try somewhere different with an old fashioned feel I would definitely recommend Re-loved....

We felt very welcome in this quirky, friendly place. The specials menu was varied and imaginative. Warm mackerel sandwich with salad / warm pork sausage sandwich with salad - very yummy, with fresh apple juice. Our cappuccinos and shared homemade brownie rounded it all off nicely!

We held our daughters baby shower for 25 people here at the weekend, Alex put on a superb buffet and drinks (non and alcoholic). So helpful in letting us set up the room beforehand with a balloon arch and arranging a few tables. Everyone commented on what a lovely venue and how nice and friendly the staff were looking after us all afternoon. Alex and his teams award winning cocktails are a must to try,

Soup was awful, tasteless, not even a trace of leek and potato as described. Waste of money , dreadful. It was hot flour and water , like bechamel sauce only thinner.

We popped in today as our usual cafe was closed! I can see now why we don't visit the black cactus. This isn't the first time, but the two members of staff, who weren't busy dealing with lots of customers, weren't the most friendliest unfortunately. I completely understand they were writing the memo board and sorting that out, but I don't understand why they cheerfully couldn't have explained they would be with us in a minute. There were no happy faces etc. Then the flap Jack's we had weren't the best, but you win some and lose some. When it came to leaving, it was like we weren't even there. No goodbye, thanks for coming, nothing, and to reiterate, they were not busy serving customers. I'm sure many people have had great service there, but unfortunately we have not. So we won't be returning.... Shame!

We visited the Ibberton as we often do when In Dorset. It was warm, cosy, beautifully decorated for Christmas and the food was delicious. There is even a little jewellery cabinet made by a local lady and proceeds go to charity!
