What can I say about Ray’s. It’s simply superb. We’ve eaten here 3 times in the last year during our holidays in the area and it never fails to impress. It’s not just our families favourite restaurant in the area, but one our favourite restaurants full stop. The food is always exceptional, I had the butternut squash and sage arancini to start, whilst my wife had the Mushrooms special. Both were exceptional and having travelled to Italy many times the Arancini was the best I’ve tasted anywhere. My wife, father in law and I all had the veal and pork meatballs with spaghetti for main, my mother in law had the prawn and chorizo pasta and our young daughter had carbonara. All of the mains were excellent and authentic. The service and friendliness of the staff is always brilliant and this time we were celebrating my mother in laws 70th birthday. They were very accommodating with us bringing a cake and delivering to the table without her knowledge. We have stopped in a few times in the mornings for coffee as it’s the best in the area and the likes of Costa & Starbucks do not have a patch on Ray’s for taste and smoothness. We are always made to feel welcome and will 100% return when we are on our next break in Milford. I just wish there was a Ray’s closer to where we live as we would certainly be regular customers.

This restaurant is the best for miles around - my wife and I had the "special Lunch" main course of Skate which was out of this world simply the best!!! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough if you visit, live in Milford or the area then you are missing a real treat. The staff are exceptional and make you feel really welcome & the service is brilliant.

Went with a group of friends. Even though we all chose different mains, deserts and drinks there was no problem. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good, not just pizza and pasta.

Ok. So if you haven’t heard of low fodmap; look it up. Onions and cream are my nemesis from trial and error. Ray’s Kitchen could not have been kinder or more considerate of my needs. It isn’t an allergy or a food intolerance per se. It causes havoc with my constitution if I have them. I had the most delicious 3 course meal each course explained and even parts presented separately so I could choose to taste. Relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff. Tasty quality food and plentiful portions, very reasonably priced. Not hurried or rushed. I felt like a special night for us. Thank you

Nice coffee and very friendly staff. Visited in the morning so can’t comment on dinner options, but everything on offer looked lovely, including some classy lunchtime salad selections. Will be back, soon.

Incredibly authentic pizza from this little restaurant in Milford on Sea. We ordered for collection although if you plan in advance you can book a delivery. Pizzas were excellent (thin crust, perfect toppings) and we have a tomato and onion salad which was lovely. Quality use of ingredients.

first time visiting Ray's, amazing food with great presentation. we had coffee and cake but the standard of food here is certainly 5 star. Will definitely return.

Jean and I went for an early meal (6.15 pm) last week. We had the most excellent food...Jean's veggie pizza and my penne arrabiata...perhaps one of the best I have ever had. toped by a sprinkling of mixed herbs I think..superb. Starters of gamberi (for me), mushrooms for Jean..again excellent.The service from the very helpful waitress was top class and the beers and wines great as ever. All round a first class meal which we expect at Rays. If anything we had to wait a long time between courses and I think it was because they were doing takeaways and perhaps did not have adequate staff. Its difficult to judge this I know but I think there needs to be a better plan ,particularly perhaps earlier evenings. It dragged out the evening too much really We will be aware of this for the future...but it won't put us off going..this time.. Thank you all. Terry and Jean Langford. Milford on Sea.

Did not actually get to try the food in Ray’s, which is a shame. Wanted to use the takeaway option to feed 4 adults and 5 kids.This place is really not geared up for takeaways. Could not get through on the phone so went down to the restaurant to order 6 pizzas.When I arrived at approx 6.30pm they said they would be ready around 7.45pm - 8pm. I thought a 75 minute minimum wait was A bit excessive! The answer I was given was that they were v busy.This is fair enough, but if you are marketing yourselves as a takeaway as well as a sit down you need to be getting food out of the door in half the time.This is not a slight on the food, just the service of the ‘takeaway’ option.You need to know a long time in advance that you fancy a pizza in this establishment.

We were greeted by a lovely smiling lady. Thoroughly enjoyed our pizza and pasta dishes at Ray's. Nice happy atmosphere, very tasty food and impeccable service. The chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice-cream and blackcurrant sorbet come highly recommended. Will definitely visit again.

Perfect evening. Felt really safe, all COVID precautions in place. Great vegan pizza and super service. Definitely worth a visit or two.

We visited Rays tonight and ate the most amazing food. The ambience was very pleasant and the service couldn’t have been better or more friendly. We each had a different starter and all were beautifully presented and exceedingly tasty, I then had the creamiest pasta I have ever tasted whilst the others had the thinnest crispy pizzas with lovely toppings. We will definitely be returning soon!

I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars. I went there for my first time yesterday after hearing some wonderful reviews and I had such a lovely time. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the vibe was amazing and the food was out of this world! If you like salmon, I definitely recommend you trying their salmon pasta. It was absolutely delicious!

I am staying in the local area for a few days and our AirBnb host recommended Rays Italian Kitchen. We booked in advance and are very pleased we did. The service was excellent, even in light of the new restrictions/curfew. All three members of the staff on the floor were constantly working & knew exactly what was going on with every table. They were all polite & welcoming. It was plain to see that the restaurant was incredibly busy but the food was excellent & was served much quicker than expected in the circumstances. Thank you to all of the staff for making our experience an enjoyable one.

If you are in Milford you must visit Ray's italian restaurant its amazing,the menu is small but there's something for everyone.The service we received was excellent when we finished our meal i asked if they could phone a cab for me,i was then told it would be a hour's wait,at this point one of the waitresses said she'd take us back to the place we were staying.What a lovely thing to do!!

Pizza is good. But the staff are never ready for you. Never happy to see you. It always feels like they have had enough and would rather you left. But the pizza is good.

Last minute booking managed to fit 4 adults and a dog. We also require gluten free for 3 coeliacs. As we were camping we had our dog with us needed to find somewhere to eat that catered for dietary requirements and a dog friendly. They accommodated for all our needs. My Hubby's pizza was fantastic and our gluten free meals were very tasty too. Service was excellent and they even bought the dog out a bowl of water. Next time in the New Forest would definitely visit again. So many gluten free options as well it was lovely to actually have a great range.

We visited Rays whilst on holiday in Milford. We are all big fans of Italian food and this restaurant did not disappoint. Plenty of choice and all of us thought the food was excellent. The decor and atmosphere also adds to the overall experience. Definitely worth a visit.

We were looking for somewhere to eat locally as we didn't want to travel too far on our last night in Milford on Sea, all the local places were either shut or fully booked. We tried the last place on the list and the friendly lady said if you can come at 17:30 we can squeeze you in. We received a warm welcome and they led us up to a little place at the back of the restaurant with just two tables, it seemed a little isolated at first but it turned out just fine. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food was freshly cooked and delicious, the two pizzas we shared between the three of us were more than enough and I just couldn't finish the last piece! The only complaint we have is that we didn't find this little gem earlier in the week and wish we had somewhere as good as Rays close to home. Thank you all for making the last night of our holiday a memorable experience.

We booked a table at Rays Italian Kitchen in Milford on Sea for our family group early one evening and the restaurant was fairly busy when we arrived. The staff seemed to be working hard but there didn’t seem to be any proper system, we weren’t allocated a waiter or waitress when we were seated so just had to keep asking any passing member of staff each time we wanted to ask something. A member of staff eventually brought our drinks and took our food order, at which point we did ask if the children’s meals could arrive soon, as a starter, as they were very hungry. Alas their meals arrived with ours about 50 minutes later by which time they were ravenous and not very happy. The food was very good and enjoyable, but what spoilt the experience for us were the unnecessary cocky, sarcastic comments that the manager / head waiter kept making every time we asked a question or made a comment. He really does need to brush up on his customer service and interpersonal skills.If you go to this restaurant at a busy time be prepared for a long wait for your food, as the kitchens priority appears to be take-away pizzas which seem to keep jumping the queue ahead of eat-in orders.

Great meal at this very popular restaurant. We visited while on a family stay in Lymington and were not disappointed. Very good food especially the pizzas, the only small negative was we were in the garden room which wasn’t as nice as being in the main restaurant, but overall would definitely return.

Lovely as usual, we love it here. Staff always really friendly and the food is tasty, well prepared and well presented,plus the wine list is good, varied and not too pricey.

We got takeaway pizzas here this week for a family members birthday. We phoned up in advance and placed the order where the lady reinforced that we must be on time to collect the order, to the point that she was being rude and demanding we not be late.We arrived to the restaurant on time, after being told so strongly to be there on the dot, to be told they were "just boxing it up for us". I'm not sure how long boxing up takes, but it can't take more than five minutes? We waited outside for over 20 minutes until our food was brought out to us. To make this worse, we could actually see them just putting the food in the oven after they said they were "boxing it up". When the food was brought out to us there was no apology for the long wait at all.Now, we understand that during this time things may take longer and you may have been busy due to the holiday season. But to tell us so rudely on the phone that we must not be late for the collection, then making us stand outside for over 20 minutes was absolutely disgraceful. The food was fine but the customer service really let it down. Unfortunately we will not be eating here again, this is not our first bad experience here either. If you're in milford, pop to Britannia Thai where you'll get a much friendlier reception and won't be waiting 20 minutes for your takeaway.

We have just come back from a family meal here and it was fantastic. Every course was delicious, the service was superb and the venue is like a hidden gem. Will definitely be back, even the kids loved it. Thanks so much for an amazing dinner and for excellent social distancing in place

We visited twice during a week’s stay in Milford (Sat 18th & Fri 24th). Had the garden set menu both times. Absolutely fantastic meal, despite being apprehensive with eating out for first time, we needn’t have worried - tables spaced well, staff all in PPE and mindful of being distanced whilst serving, toilets cleaned after each use, immaculate tables and finishings (other places could learn A LOT from Ray’s!). Great to support them, have amazing food and to feel safe all at same time. Thanks Stacey and team. We’ll be back soon!

Best pizza I’ve had outside Italy! We had takeaway because restaurant was fully booked (COVID restricted capacity). It transported home well but we put it in hot oven for a couple of minutes to reheat. Whitebait was also high quality.

Had 3 pizzas and lasagne takeaway delivered to Shorefield and it was excellent and really good value.

We visited Rays Italian Kitchen for a sit down dinner on Friday 10th July and then returned on Saturday for a take-away. Pre booked and pre-ordered food for the Friday visit and sat in their lovely rear garden. Garden was well set up to ensure compliance with COVID-19 government guidance. Staff were also wearing the correct PPE and cleaning all areas when customers left. The food was delicious and service great. We were not rushed and the evening was very relaxed. Prices were very reasonable. For our take out, we pre-ordered and paid for our pizza’s early afternoon and was given a time to collect in the evening which was 6.45pm. Arrived and they were ready to pick up at that time. We eat Italian a lot and have to say they were one of the nicest pizza’s we have eaten in a very long time. Would not hesitate to recommend Rays’ Italian Kitchen. Great food, great service.

Incredible from start to finish. First post lockdown meal out and we were not disappointed. Paid in advance £30 per person for the 3 course set menu and we ate like a King and Queen! Starters- Italian tapas sharers of Halloumi, Meatballs in spicy tomato sauce, garlic and rosemary flatbread and the freshest deep fried whitebait! Mains- pizza tropical (smokey ham hock and pineapple with sweetcorn), salmon in a vodka creme sauce with penne pasta, fresh garden salad and tasty crisp salted French friesDessert- strawberry cheesecake with cream and tiramisu Highly reccomend, the portions were so ample that I had my leftover pizza boxed up to take home and the owner Stacey came out to give this to me - nice touch! Also the drinks were on the house to thank us for supporting Rays! Incredible service just flawless didn’t want for a single second! Only wish we lived closer thank you Stacey and the team at Rays for a wonderful meal out post lockdown!

Ordered two pizzas for supper last night using ther offer of a delivery service while CV lockdown is on. They were delivered on time (I ordered well ahead) and were superb as ever. Two quattrostaggiones with extra toppings...both so very tasty and warm enough to eat right away despite the delivery. Everything about the food, the service, the care was just great. What a great experience from ordering to eating. We are social distancing and wanted to make Saturday night special. At just after 12.00 phoned up. The phone was answered by the very cheerful Head waiter who asked what time we wanted it ordered then what we wanted. We had the Tropicale Pizza and the Bolognese calzone with mushrooms and ragu added. They arrived on time djelived by a very cheerful man who delivered it on the doorstep and then distanced himself. What a great meal. Thank You Ray's. Please give it a try. We are so lucky in Milford to have such great local restaurant s please use them.

We booked whilst walking past on the Friday night for Saturday and so glad we did. Arrived as they opened and were greeted by the Owner/Head Waiter with a warm greeting having remembered us from the night before.Food was very tasty and well presented. Services was friendly and efficient.Later they were turning people away as fully booked.

Everything perfect. Light attractive decor, excellent food. Friendly efficient service. The lunchtime menu is particularly good value,generous portions expertly cooked and served.

Unless my memory is failing me, they have added white marble tops to their tables since our last visit last year, giving the whole place that higher class bistro feel than before. Sadly the experience this time was not as pleasant as last time, for two reasons. Firstly and most importantly, the food. Unlike last time, I ordered a top of their range 12 inch thin crust pizza at a huge price of £13. I expected a lot from this for that money but it fell well short. It looked great and was very tasty....BUT the actual filling was measly in quantity and once again the chef had been far too enthusiastic with the olive oil as he had been with the fish dish that I had had at our last visit. The whole top positively glistened in the light and there were pools of oil around the edges where the filling met the crusty edge of the pastry. It was a big let down and not as a pizza in my opinion should be. My wifes dish of spaghetti carbonara although very tasty was pronounced rather dry and claggy. It was also very rich for her taste but that of course is her subjective opinion. Secondly, and I stress that this is not the restaurants fault, there was an empty table for 5 next to us. Half way through the meal it became occupied by 5 fairly well 'oiled' middle aged ladies celebrating a birthday. The fact that they all had to talk, sorry, shout to each other at the same time raised the volume to a pitch where neither I nor my wife could carry on a conversation. We had to finish our meal and leave earlier than we would have liked, missing out on a sweet course. There ya go, that is life

Great decor, lovely vibe, good menu choices and reasonably priced - we had not been for a while but it has definitely improved. Cooking to a good standard and the small plate menu works really well if you are not really hungry. And try the Primitivo wine its really good!

This visit, for an early dinner with two guests was a first for me at Ray's and having looked online at the menu choices in advance, admittedly I just expected to be visiting a really good pizza and pasta restaurant. Well.. Ray's is so much more than that. The warm welcome from the start was appreciated and the fabulous choice of seating was spot on. We had a comfy booth which would be my preferred choice of seating. I had already seen my choice of dishes online which I thought looked pretty tasty and so was completely blown away when a specials board arrived and further delectable delights were listed. I chose two dishes from the board in the end and they did not disappoint. I opted for the ravioli for starters and a venison for main. Both were just blissful to eat. My dining guests also agreed that their meals were excellent, they opted for pizza and the service was top notch.

Four of us went two never been before. Food and staff were great as always. A little gem of a place with Stacey at the helm it can’t go wrong. X

My hubby and I went to this restaurant again on Thursday and the atmosphere was great and the food excellent. We feel so lucky to have such a good restaurant in our village with very attentive staff, an excellent team and wonderful chef.

A group of us went for dinner, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was great too! We couldn't fault our starters and main courses (different pizzas and pasta dishes). All in all a lovely night out and good value. We will be back!

Meal for 4 people in the mid week. They had a good menu with lots of choices and specials on the night. The food was good overall for starters and mains. Authentic Italian.

We arrived and were seated in one of the booths. The service was good and staff were friendly. The food was good apart from the spinach on the pizza it had a bit of a funny taste. It seems it bit daft to have plates that have to hang over the sides of the table as the table is not big enough for them to sit on so you have to juggle your drinks around with the plates. Unfortunately the restaurant was really cold and my daughter ended up keeping her coat on. We didn’t stay for coffee or puddings. So unfortunately we were all a bit disappointed.

Visited with friends for dinner - could not fault the service or the food. Ecmvety course just the right amount (room for dessert!) Special mention for the shortbread biscuit which was soo short it melted in the mouth.

Just had a lovely meal with max Guillaume Oceane our children just Freddy missing and Gabrielle who is now gluten free and dairy free and we all really enjoyed our time at Ray's and our meal Gabrielle really appreciate to have a great meal especially since she cut gluten and dairy lovely team working there we felt welcome I had the squids starter Oceane and Guillaume shared the whitebait and maxime had his vegetarian starter I had the quattro stagionne pizza four seasons is it? And that was lovely Gabrielle was hoping to have a g free pizza but opted for the risotto on the specials and really enjoyed it so Will want to come back to try that pizza and to finish I had the tiramisu all NB was very good and we will be happy to recommend to friends and to return there for a meal well done and thank you for a good evening out .

Ray's is a small Italian style restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. However the new lunchtime menu is rather short on anything substantial. Fine for light snacking but we required something a little more meatier.

This restaurant is a gem, excellent food and service...we love it! It gets busy so we try to book to be sure of a table.

My husband and I have just had a delightful meal at Ray’s Italian Restaurant. The owner, Stacey was so welcoming with her staff and the chef, Rebecca, served us a superb sharing starter and then a pizza and pasta which was very reasonably priced. My husband mentioned that I had just retired and along popped the plate at the end. Each dish was excellent and well worth coming out on a night where it was pouring with rain and blowing a hooley.

We eat from time to time in the Italian chains (Prezzo etc.). What a delightful change to eat in a one off Italian restaurant with a good atmosphere, attentive staff and excellent food. This restaurant is in Milford on Sea, so you have to seek it out as it is not on the main road into Lymington but it is well worth the effort. A wide ranging menu was appreciated. We opted for a shared seafood platter and were not disappointed. Together with delicious ice cream / sorbet desserts, drinks and coffees, total bill was just under £50. Highly recommended.

We were recommended to try this restaurant from some friends who live in Milford on Sea. So booked for my birthday lunch. The proprietor Stacy was warm and welcoming as were all the staff. The food was outstanding delicious and presented beautifully. The choices are endless from the specials board to the main menu, plenty for me as I don't eat meat. We will be back. Sarah and Tim.

We dined at Ray's a couple of Friday's ago with two of our good friends and we all felt that it was such a treat.

Just a perfect place, with a perfect atmosphere and great food. Staff were amazing, just made us feel so welcome. We had such a lovely evening. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ray's has a very warming feel to it. Hustle and bustle of the staff, who are attentive, but not overbearing; decor that has obviously been thought about and that helps create the atmosphere and a sense that your custom is really valued. Pretty impressive to give that impression within moments of walking through the door.

Our daughter recommended this restaurant and we're pleased we tried,food,service excellent,well attended will come again,parking easy.

Während unseres Englandurlaubs haben wir nie so gut italienisch gegessen wie hier. Zwar sind die Preise (vor allem mit Wein) wie in dieser Gegend üblich recht gehoben, aber das Essen war frisch und vorzüglich. Für Kinder gibt es günstige Menüs mit Desert und der Service war außerordentlich flott und aufmerksam.

We walked in without booking on a wet evening . We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table . The choices on the menu were varied and all looked interesting . We shared four small plates all were good, the hake with lentils standing out. Our waitress was exceptionally pleasant and helpful . Would certainly visit again. One small comment the lighting was a little subdued

We booked a table for 6 on a Saturday evening for my father's birthday meal. The food was delicious and fresh, probably the best pizza I've had in a long time. All the other food ordered at the table looked very good too and was enjoyed! The service was amazing and all the staff were so attentive. I had mentioned at the start of the meal that it was my father's birthday and as a birthday treat the staff brought our a glass of champagne each for us and then for after our meal a limoncello. We will all definitely return!

We went for early supper and all (2 adults and 1 child) had different pizzas. This was the best pizza we’ve had since a trip to Italy.

We love eating at Ray's. The food's good as you might expect but the staff are engaging with an interesting tapas-style selection if you don't want to eat from the main menu. You'll need to book at weekends!

Visited for the first time on Saturday 7th September. Staff very friendly and accommodating couldn’t fault the service. Food was great too, have recommended to friends and family.

Back in Milford after 9 months I had made the decision I would go back to Rays Italian Kitchen. It did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in we were looked after so well. With a new menu, we decided to sample the potato coquette with garlic and citrus (2 large ones so very good to share), small plate of deep fried squid and a tomato and mozzarella salad which was also delicious. For our main course, we had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection which was served with a gorgeous green salad with pine nuts (can’t remember what it was called!) and I would absolutely recommend the courgette fries. They were out of this world - not a tidy food to eat but who cares! We drank a very nice red called Montepulciano and I don’t normally drink red. A lovely espresso martini to finish as there was definitely no room for dessert.

Great food, friendly staff and excellent service. Well worth a visit and will definitely be going back.

I enjoyed my first visit to this eatery, and I shall certainly go again. I'm not sure how long it's been there, but I have only recently noticed it and so decided we would give it a try.

What a gem of a restaurant! Looks unassuming from outside but is spacious and sassy inside. The staff were delightful and the food delicious. We choose soup of the day which was tomato and butter bean and goats cheese with fig compote! Really tasty. Followed by salsa di noci and ravioli stuffed with chicken. Delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening.

What an amazing find! Great menu, fabulous venue, lovely decor, ambience and very chilled outside space. Will be returning very soon.

Delicious and large sized pizzas, in pretty little restaurant. Some different options of pizza topping to choose from as well as your classics. Went for the vegan, vegitariana, with butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, mushroom, chilli, garlic oil ect.m. There were plenty of other options on the menu for vegetarians and vegans too, as well as fish and meat. Would like to come back and try one of the pastas and have a pudding, as what the table ordered next door looked great too! Would recommend booking in advance and the restaurant doesn’t open until six thirty on a week night, so not good as an early dining option.

A it of a tardis when you enter, just keep on going. They fitted us in as we were only in town for that evening, the service as excellent the food fabulous and the price not at all silly.

Had to visit as a grand daughters favourite. New owners total improvement. Looks great inside even an outside to eat. Very attentive staff. Presume owners very vigilant with diners and their needs. Staff clearly well trained. Loved the table reset procedure.

We have tried this restaurant twice now as we think it fair to give a venue the benefit of the doubt if first experience is not as expected. Sadly our second visit was worse than our first. The specials board was spelled incorrectly. The ambience was marred by some extremely noisy diners but worst of all the food was again disappointing. The aforementioned tagliatelle special was absolutely swimming in oil, the sea bass was overcooked and the dish did not contain all the ingredients mentioned on the board. We will not be returning for a 3rd visit. Sorry Ray!!!!

Lovely little courtyard garden , and as it was quiet we were offered the full menu. Indulged in three courses - arancini, sardines, special tagliatelli, carbonara , panecotta and cheese (excuse spelling??) ; all great - nice portions. With a good bottle of Primitivo.

We visited Rays last Thursday for an evening meal. I had the goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza which was delicious and hubbie had the spaghetti Bol. He said it was the best spaghett bolognaise he had tasted. We both had a pudding, my lemon posset was light and very lemony. Hubbie had the tiramisu. The service was excellent, friendly and unhurried. We loved the modern decor.

We love going to Ray’ Kitchen Italian in Milford!
