Great Ice cream Fantastic to replace my daughters ice cream she dropped How ever the young lady behind the counter today august 17th who seemed to be having issues with the card machine was obnoxious and judgemental My son is a sends child with autism and various other diagnoses he was excited and looking what flavour to have when he touched the ice cream display counter which any child is going to press there nose and hands against in pure joy and excitement Only to be told off by the young lady with a demeaning attitude and tone in her voice “ please don’t touch the freezer it does say it on there” in such an obtuse condescending manner which was absolutely disgusting how dare she talk to a child like that or any other child in that matter that is one sure way not to get returning customers The lady that served the ice cream was amazing I understand your busy it’s summer and Ice cream is the first thing on a child’s mind but you work in hospitality and catering in all my years in this industry which is over 30 years of spoke to a customer they the young lady did I would have been fired Again thank you for replacing the dropped ice cream and the ice creams were delicious in there own right

Sampled Ice Cream at Helen Brownings Royal Oak Bishopstone Pig Festival. The person manning the ice cream tricycle did a fantastic job serving huge queue non stop on a lovely hot day with great patience and enthusiasm.

Since the revamp there is less freezer space and a much reduced range - you used to be spoilt for choice (20?), now only a handful (5 or 6). Might be a cost decision but a shame in my opinion.

Very disappointed cannot believe an Ice cream shop that doesn't have Rum and Raisin is not a Ice cream shop. It used to have massive selection now very small. Very disappointed.

This is the best place to go in Swindon for ice cream. They are always friendly, and have a wide variety of flavours including some unusual ones at times. I absolutely love their salted caramel flavour and the cider sorbet.

Forget your cheap supermarket ice-cream, this is in a league of its own. High quality, amazing taste and so many different flavours to try. We had a bundle delivered in lockdown 1 and it was just the treat to cheer us up. Staff always friendly and helpful in the shop. They have it set up so well for covid friendly and safe shopping. Cannot recommend enough.

My daughter turned 10 this year during lockdown. Turning 10 is a big one and we wanted to get her an impressive cake to make up for her being locked in. I'm not a baker, anything I make looks like an angry toddler has fly-tipped it, I admit it, it's not one of my skills. We had a quote for a bespoke cake at over £60.00 which I just couldn't bring myself to do, especially as we may not actually get to eat it all before it went stale, with the lockdown. Then I thought of Rays, she got to choose the base flavour of ice cream and the style she liked - she went for the gummy bear with honeycomb. It was delivered on the day we asked. We got one of those flaming candles for it and the look on her face when we brought it out was perfect, such a kilowatt smile. The best thing about an ice-cream cake is it keeps, so you don't have to eat it all in one sitting (two or three in our case) or even within the week. It tastes blooming marvellous and it has that unique factor. With Rays you can choose your flavour and a range of styles and it is very reasonably priced. So thank you Rays for cheering up my little girl in lockdown and giving her a birthday cake to remember, and not for all the bad reasons she would have remembered if I had baked her one...

First time in this country having an ice cream cake made for a birthday! Used to love them when we were in America! Hubby was really surprised and everyone who had a slice thoroughly enjoyed it!The coffee ice cream had the perfect flavour and strength of coffee taste!Fully Recommend Thank you!

Enjoyed the Oreo ice cream. Plenty of big chunks or Oreo. By boyfriend also lived the bubble gum ice cream. Just like the bubble gum at the bottom of a screwball. However the raspberry ripple and bakewell tart were quite bland. Definitely have had better/creamier ice cream. Would definitely come back to try a waffle once the cafe section re-opens though.

Rays sells all manner of amazing ice creams, they are always super helpful in trying to find me a flavour that is running low on stock. They were especially helpful in making me a last minute birthday ice cream cake. The delivery service has been a great addition too! The ice cream is some of the best I have ever tasted, lovely friendly staff, always worth a visit!

Love rays Ice Cream. Lots of limited flavours as well as the staples. All ingredients sourced locally and super friendly service. Do yourself a favour and try the cheesecake. You'll be glad you did.

I’m honestly not really an ice cream fan and initially order for my children as a treat over lockdown however this stuff is something else....The vanilla is amazing and my family has enjoyed every flavour they have been lucky enough to try! And the ice cream cakes lush!!

People in the Bourton Village recommended we ordered a home delivery of ice cream - what better during this period of social isolation. Amazing. Website was easy to use. Simple to order. Fair priced. The delivery was on time AND they called me to tell me where they'd left it as I wasn't in... And the ice cream?! Amazing. M wife and I just enjoyed a great cornet with flake... Two scopes of course. Truly tasty. Wickedly wonderful

All of Ray’s ice cream flavours are delicious, but my personal favourites are Christmas Pudding and custard cream. Unfortunately it was due to the sad circumstances of COVID-19 that they stated delivering, but so glad that they did! (currently getting through half a tub a day between 2 of us).Having something to look forward to each day makes things a bit more bearable, so thanks for being a ray of light in such sad times :-)

Today my lovely husband surprised me with a birthday cake from Ray’s Ice Cream parlour. It looked stunning, it was cherry vegan ice cream, Oreo biscuits, nuts and vegan chocolate on top.We were all very impressed. It looked good, was reasonably priced and tasted delicious.

Was walking around old town and saw this little ice cream shop.The shop is small, but it has really nice ice cream. The mint ice cream was had just the right amount of mint in it. Would definitely visit here again, maybe try the waffles and ice cream next time.

I have been visiting Rays since it opened. Great range of scummy ice cream,sorbets and frozen yoghurt flavours which are always changing. It's a difficult decision each time I visit which one to have!!

All the Ice Creams from Rays are brilliant , we now stock them at The Runner but my personal favourites are the Vegan Cherry, Mint Choc And Banana

Been living in Swindon for years and big fan of ice cream but believe it or not it is the first time we stopped to have an ice cream at Rays.Gosh why did we not discover those before. Totally lush and the 2 scoops is huge.Absolute delicious, and probably my favourite ice cream now I had peanut butter, yummy and vanilla, yummyAndy had salted caramel, yummy and bubblegum, yummy. Will be back soon

Me and my daughter often find ourselves wandering up on a Sunday to have ice cream and waffles 😍😍 they never disappoint plus the ice cream is to die for!!!! The people that work in there are so lovely and friendly too.

The wife and kids took me for a birthday surprise to Rays in Old Town, Swindon.Excellent birthday surprise, for a BIG kid!The Panna Cotta ice cream was a new find, served on a very nice Gluten Free Waffle.The wife and kids enjoyed their ice cream / sorbets.Only downside (and it really isn't a big one - and is all down to personal preference) was my café latte wasn't great - not bad, just average. I think its mainly down to the beans / grounds used, as the barista was well trained.All in all, another excellent trip to rays - becoming an annual treat!

We have been going to Ray's for a couple of years and plenty of flavours to choose from but lately the flavours have been a bit bizarre and not changed to much over the last few months.When asked if we could have 2 flavours in a small pot the lady with the blue hair can only be described as rude and very arrogant and you would have thought we were asking the earth we felt like we were an inconvenience,clearly not set up for working as front of house.Shame as some of the other older staff have been very accomodating in the past.

Yesterday I wanted some vegan ice cream as we were entertaining some visitors for the weekend and needed it to top a dessert I had made. I was making a special trip and didn’t want a wasted journey so I contacted them first. I had a reply within a short while confirming they had what I needed and a very nice lady served me and was most helpful.

We had a meal close by and needed a walk, then came across this Nice little shop with an excellent variety of ice cream flavours, all homemade. Fabulous.

We are fortunate to have Rays ice cream on our high street in RWB. They have the best home made ice cream and a great selection to buy in tubs to take home. They even cater for dogs (you can buy tubs to take home).

I always love going to rays ice cream!! It’s so nice and I love the fact that it changes all the time which makes it easy to try different flavours.

Really fancied churro as hadn't had one in years. Had them with salted caramel and they were yummy and so reasonably priced! Could not manage ice cream as well so will look forward to that experience next visit.

As usual a really good selection of ice creams, and my scoop of Malteaser ice cream was very nice. Unfortunately I feel this place continues to be let down by younger staff members which is a shame since the owner appears on the ball in every other respect. Hoping this year they extend their summer opening hours so we can go for ice cream after dinner as it's intended, not before!!

Popped in for lunch and our little one had a waffle and my other half had the same. They both loved it. A waffle is £3.50 (and it’s huge!) and you can add ice cream for £1.50. You can also add other toppings and sauces for 25p each.

My daughter and I visited the Wootton Bassett store. It was great - just the treat we were after, and I'm so pleased you were open on a wintry Friday afternoon. We saw the signage from the high street and went to investigate. The service was friendly and the ice cream was so good we bought some to bring home too. A new favourite!

Wow who would have thought you could get ice cream this good in the UK and at great prices too!! Amazing flavours, all made on site and love the waffles too. Yummy and great friendly service. :-)

Walking through Old-Town in Swindon, we passed by Ray's Icecream Parlour, so stopped off for are visit, to try the Milkshakes made using their icecreams.

Simply superb. Flavours subtle or robust come through the ice cream masterfully. The only place I have ever had banana ice cream which tastes like proper fresh banana. The best cinnamon ice cream I have found in the world. Beer ice cream where you can tell the difference between different brands of beer. They encourage you to taste, and in all ways their service matches the quality of their ice cream. Worth a trip, truly excellent.

I can honestly say it's the best ice cream I've ever eaten. Always tastes great and there is a wide variety of flavours. Nothing better than getting an ice cream from here on a hot day and trying to get to the town gardens without it melting.

We went to Rays on a very hot day with our children, one of whom has a dairy allergy. She was well catered for with a range of sorbets. My husband has a gluten intolerance and he had a gluten-free waffle with some ice cream. There was a wide range of flavours, the familiar ones and some more unusual ones like frozen toffee yoghurt. The shop is quite small, but the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the different ice creams. We will be back.

no gloves and no one washed there hands before. the guy shoved his hand in the fudge stick jar and stuck it in to my ice cream, it fell off on to the floor and he just stood there till I said I would need a new one. did not clean spoon in between ice creams. not offered any extra's such a shame .

Lovely ice cream but the place is too small and would be better in a quiet pedestrianised location. I sat outside on the one table with my daughter on a very hot afternoon but the traffic noise and fumes spoiled what was a very delicious black currant ice cream. On a hot day you want to be sat outside in the sunshine in peaceful surroundings not on a busy main road!

This ice-cream parlour is small but perfectly formed. There is always such a fabulous range of flavours available; the trusty old favourites mixed in with an amazing supply of imaginative new ones every time we visit. The staff are polite, fun and friendly.

We went there just before it opened, and the café was still being cleaned. The staff member let us in 15 minutes before they officially opened with no fuss, and sold three tubs of ice cream for £12.50. Tis is a reasonable price for hand made ice cream. The ice creams are all delicious, and the best was the frozen yoghurt. They do ice cream cakes for parties too. We will definitely be back.

I've been going to Rays for 3 or 4 years, they've got a fantastic selection of ice cream and frozen yogurt you can have as scoops, tubs or 500ml take away tubs for later. Great selection of flavours, all made in house and regularly rotated.

I understand that they make dozens of flavours, but why would anyone want anything else than Salted Caramel? Excellent, tasty Ice-Cream to savour, look-forward to and enjoy.

All we can say is this place is amazing, delicious homemade ice creams every time! Have already recommended! 😍

Visited here earlier this year with some friends, the lady behind the counter accidentally cracked my cone, I said it was absolutely fine and not to worry but she gave me another one anyway... lovely customer service!

This place is one of Swindon finds. The ice-cream is all home made and lovely. I like sitting outside and people watching.

We have visited this place many times and we were not dissapointed even once. The ice cream they have is superb. Staff is polite and friendly. Must try flavours: Royal burbon vanilla, double chocolate and pistachio.

Had a dream honeycomb milkshake, one of the best I've had.

The ice cream is exceptional and the variety of flavours on offer ensures there is something to suit everyone. However it's their warm and friendly staff that make this place the very best. They are always welcoming, offer you samples before you buy when it's difficult to choose. Their friendlines even extends to our dog Gertie who loves the unique dog only ice cream. Definitely worth a visit or two!

We are regulars to Ray's and cannot rate the ice cream and sorbets enough. We like being able to sample new flavours before we decide and there are some great toppings. Looking forward to trying the waffles too.

I was introduced to Ray's About 3 years ago. Now I Ltd my favourite place to visit and often venture to Ray's for a sweet treat. I love taking the kids and getting to chose from all their amazing flavours!

Delicious home made ice cream, always a variety of flavours available, with friendly service. You can try before you buy from a range of ice cream, frozen yoghurts and sorbets,the flavours vary each time we have been there. We have never had a horrible one yet, and can never resist getting two scoops each. Always a favourite place to visit for a treat.

We had a lovely visit to Ray's today. Double chocolate, mango, chocolate orange and pistachio were our choices! I would highly recommend each of them but my favourite was mine.. Pistachio ice cream mm Mmm mmmmmm! Well done Ray's, a lovely ice cream! Thank you! And they had wipes for a messy 4 year olds hands!

We LOVE Ray's ice cream. We love the flavours, the zero food miles, the cheery ice cream parlour decor. So many favourites, but at the moment we are loving Death by Chocolate, Custard Cream and Ginger and Honeycomb. If you haven't been, you must!!

I regularly visit here with family and friends. They always have a great selection of flavours and you can have a taste of them so you know when you commit to a flavour you're happy with it. They're all set up for kids as well with baby wipes on the counter!

I really love this ice cream parlour. I was sceptical that it would be a success when it first opened but hoped it would, and I can now see why it is a success. The ice creams are always homemade and lovely and different flavours everytime alongside some more regular ones. They also serve milkshakes, waffles etc. It is busy all times of year with a great atmosphere. The staff always friendly and owners very nice people. My kids love this place!

Rays ice cream really are the business. Their inauspicious surroundings in Old Town in Swindon, belies the high quality of their product. The ice cream is so fresh and delicious. We hired them for my 40th birthday party and they brought their stand to my house. Everyone agreed that is was the highlight. We got to choose flavours and mix and match. Coconut with chocolate and ginger with honeycomb were just two of the delicious flavours we chose. Whether your popping in for a takeaway ice cream or you're catering for a big party, they come highly recommended.

Really loved visiting Rays, we've been around 12 times now with our 2 small children, the staff are always friendly and helpful and the portions are very generous and yummy! Only downside, not a lot of space if there is a pushchair inside, but staff have always offered to help move things around to fit us in!!

Massive homemade waffle with chocolate ice cream. No comparison with kaspas desserts down the road. Great value for money and really friendly staff.

First visit to Rays, it won't be the last. Following previous reviewers advice I ditched the car and walked to Old Town, one of the hottest days of the year, but it was worth it! Served by a very lovely young lady, the ice cream was sublime. Really, really good. So good it was on a par with ice cream I had on holiday in Rome a couple of summers ago. I can't give Rays any higher praise than that.

Amazing, the choices, then the serving size & then the taste. Back home in the North the best ice cream is a place in Macclesfield and I never expected to have the taste delight here in Swindon. The only thing I can tell is just go and check it out - for something safe to something fancy - they have it all. Also available to take home, just a shame it's a two minute walk from home

This icecream is out of this world Although parking is a little tricky there is a car park by the coop and it's well worth a visit you can also take a tub home with you !

It's something of a luxury, but Ray's Ice Cream is about the best around. Another review said "Best ice cream in Swindon", but as someone who used to make his own, it's as good as home made. I can't compliment higher than that.

My husband, myself and some friends stopped at Ray's the other weekend after a day of walking in the sunshine, and we were immediately welcomed in to the shop by very friendly and helpful staff. The selection of flavors at this shop is quite impressive, and they have quite a few unique flavors that you could not find in many other places, such as Toffee Apple, Bubble Gum, or Rhubarb. (I really recommend the Toffee Apple!) The prices were also quite reasonable, especially for the size of the scoops that they give you!

I took my 3 girls for ice cream and all I can say it is far buy the best ice cream we have had. Lots if choices for everyone and changes with the seasons. Not just ice cream lots more go and enjoy.

Our favourite place in Swindon for a treat. My daughters love being able to taste the flavours before they chose. Both daughters are coeliac and they can still choose lots of flavours.

I love bringing the kids here, quite often it's a trip out specifically to the ice cream shop as we only live a 20 min walkaway They're also lovely people, very accommodating. Definitely recommend, you won't know what to choose!

The service is always great, the ice cream is outstanding...The only problem I have is that there is too much choice. Now that they are open through the winter as well we will hopefully be getting up there more- I'm dying to try the bread and butter pudding flavour. Always a delight.

I love Ray's ice cream. I live 25 minutes walk from old town and love popping in on my way home and walking back with a cone! Turkish delight is my fav!

So many amazing tasty choices you wont know which to have!! I wouldnt bother with just the one scoop either because you will definitely regret getting the second one. Great service with a smile accompanies the delicious treats :)

Rays has a great range of ice cream flavours. Including some scummy seasonal offerings. It's a hit with me and my children!

Great value waffles & a varied selection of ice cream flavours. The majority of waffle toppings was limited to the different ice cream flavours that were available though.

We popped in on a Saturday lunchtime and had ice cream, milkshake and coffee and the whole experience was a delight! All of the ice cream flavours we tried were delicious - big shout out for the ginger and salted caramel flavours - and were just as yummy whizzed into a thick shake. We also had coffee, which was good and made better by being Fairtrade. Throughout we were lucky to be able to speak to the owner, who was very knowledgable and extremely friendly. We'll definitely be going back (probably tomorrow, and every day thereafter!). Huge thanks!
