Never had a bad experience or bad food from this place , big portion sizes too

We ordered from here last night and after a few years of staying loyal to this shop we won’t be returning. Our haddock was way over cooked and extremely dry - the scampi also too hard. Given they’ve put their prices up lately it’s terrible value for money and will now try another chip shop in Rayleigh.

We collected sausage and chips X 2 today ,the worst food i have ever had the chips were stone cold and the sausages were not edible , will not go back again £12.70 wasted.

Best Kebabs in the area . Great service too . Also a chip shop .

Delivery times are getting later and later beyond the eta. No apology.

So these guys delivered flyers to the area.i ordered food and gave them my postcode which is a mile and a half away and they said it was too far!!! We are a spit away! Really guys sort it out

I ordered a kebab among other stuff. I'm fussy when it comes to kebabs as I like the meat cooked properly and browned. This was to my satisfactory. Very tasty, enjoyed very much and the chips were 😋. Staff are friendly and efficient. Prices are pretty steep apart from that I'd recommend.

Bought Plaice, Chicken pie & chips from here a few days ago. Nice big piece of fish that wasn't dripping in fat & a really large portion of chips. The chips could have been better but it was all cooked to order so piping hot. I've honestly had better fish & chips from other shops so couldn't whole heartedly recommend this takeaway. Parking is difficult & while I was there, 2 other people came in to order and had to park on the pavement at the front of the shop. It looked clean and the staff were pleasant.

First visit and I will not be going back. Has to be the worst I have ever had. Fish dry, chips shrivelled and sausage was gross.

My elderly parents ordered spare ribs and some fish for their dinner last night .( the meal was delivered) The spare ribs weren’t cooked they were tough my dad couldn’t eat them . So he called them explain the situation they didn’t even offer another meal or their money back , so my dad ended up with no meal . They did offer another meal but ask them to spend another £20 to qualify for another delivery . What is the matter with these shops treating people like this especially the elderly that can’t drive anymore , Shame on you definitely won’t be going back there 😡

My partner and I are definitely regulars here now. When it comes to both ordering it as a takeaway or going into the shop, we are always satisfied. Anything from kebabs to fish and chips, absolutely delicious!!!!!

Just had another meal from Fish and Shish, I have only been in the UK for 6 weeks and was introduced to them by my family. Have to say their food has been awesome and it's going to be a regular for me.

Hot, fresh, clean, good value each portion. Love the staff. Always 5 star. I believe Fish n Shish is the BEST locally, despite other's claims. Quality with quantity every time. Forget the rest, just make sure there's a portion left for me!

Family of 4 ordered fish and chip, fast delivery and the best locally we all agreed. Had from others chips shops but hands down best so far.

The online ordering wouldn't accept card payment, so I had to go in and order. When I got home, one of the medium cod that I ordered was overcooked and smelt fishy. Don't know if I will go back again

Staff friendly, place was clean, service was fast. Here is where the good news ends. Ordered cod & chips x 1 It cost £9.30 😲😩 so I was expecting something really special. Not the case. The fish was tasteless and a bit dry. Chips were ok-ish but no sign of the vinegar I asked for. Way overpriced and distinctly average (or even a bit below that) Disappointing 😕

Food an hour late, most of my order missing. Such a shame, usually really good, greasy tonight, plus the wait is longer than it normally is, please tell us the exact waiting time to as near as possible..thank you. PLUS OVER CHARGED, THEY SAID REFUND WOULD BE IN THE BAG, IT WASNT.. Regular £30 order will be taken elsewhere..

Dreadful service. Food an hour late, rang them to be told it would be another 25 minutes, 35 minutes later called them again to be told another 10 minutes. When told we weren’t happy with the service we were met with “well what can I do”. And then to add salt to the wound the food turned up cold. Absolutely pathetic service.

Amazing quality food. Quick delivery time and the collection is just as quick. The food is still hot when it arrives. Love it!

Ordered the lamb special very tasty more than enough to share asked for small chips ( if these are small wonder what large is ) I’m not complaining! speedy delivery driver friendly will be back if in the area

Ordered twice now and we have and kebabs and fish and chips. Very tasty and large portions. Will be using them again. So much choice that everyone in the family is happy

Usually good service, portions and food. After last night however we will never order again. Initially only half the order dropped off. I understand these mistakes happen and they were fairly quick to sort. However whilst eating the fish we had ordered my other half found 3 pieces of hard plastic, each about 1.5cm×0.5cm. Rung to inform got passed to the owner who offered no apology and demanded we bring the plastic in to be inspected. Informed him that no we wouldnt do that and the samples and fish will be passed to the fsa and relevant offices. At 9.30pm, 2ish hours after the call, owner turns up knocking unannounced and unwanted. Again offers no apology after being shown 1 of the fragments and doing his upmost to crumble/destroy it, got antsy when explained we had more bits so destroy it all you want. Only offered an excuse that its the type of fish. Then began to suggest that because of the slight problems with delivery that we had put the plastic in! At this point the civility from my part, ended and i told him to leave immidiately (paraphasing).

Fish and chips are very nice - they should be for the price. The young women who answer the phones are extremely polite. Deliver drivers always the same. Had a request that I phoned in with. The manager was rude and unfriendly. No need for that. Won't be using them again.

Lovely food. The boss is a very nice man the food is always nice and hot. We enjoy the food. You get very good portions and it always comes with nice fresh salad. We will always be using them in the future. Deliver is always fast too polite driver. Thank you x just can't fault them.

Try the chicken kebab and salad, it’s really tasty. Management are fantastic and catered for gluten allergies.

My partner and I went here this evening the chips were cold and when my partner told him he simply shrugged and told him it was cold weather so chips have gone cold!! Didn't offer to replace them or cook fresh chips just wanted to get rid of the old food not happy and will not be returning
