Nice pub, good pub grub, and tge range of drinks is also very good.

Took our dog Thursday 16th Jan. The staff were amazing, very friendly and made us (and our dog) feel very welcome. Thanks very much, will be returning 😊🐕Also the Gammon was lovely

We have been going to the Cock Inn for our Christmas gathering on Boxing Day for a few years now. Always have a lovely meal, huge portions and competitive prices. Great atmosphere too.

Nice place and food Drinks are bit pricey.

Pub was very welcoming on a particularly January cold night. Shown to our table and served by Suzanne who was very helpful. Food and drinks arrived in good time and was tasty and good value. Pub was getting very busy now but Suzanne helped us decide on our desserts and coffee.

Boxing day xmas dinner so much food, was stuffed, lovely crisp roasties and plenty of meat, we have been every boxing day for last for yrs and always a great meal 👍

Visited The Cock Inn today 5 January 2025 - Sunday lunchtime menu - good range of dishes & very welcoming staff. Our party of 7 enjoyed a lovely meal. The roasts were plentiful & the crumble was particularly nice too. The coffee afterwards was lovely & hot, which is not always the case in other places. Will be visiting again & can recommend. Our 2nd year in going Christmas Day to The Cock Inn, in Rochford. Food was really lovely, staff & service outstanding and a really Christmasy atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Food was great, service was great also our server was friendly and helpful. Not many people in the restaurant so very quiet.

We had the best experience on Boxing Day. Our party was quite large and occupied the whole of the upstairs. We couldn't fault the service or the staff they were amazing. Thank you so much for a memorable day

My and my friends had a great time at the Christmas quiz. The food was so tasty and looked great specially the katsu. Liz was very accommodating and polite. Suz was very friendly at the bar. All in all a great experience was had and we thank you

Booked for Sunday roast 6.30 pm no turkey no beef no lamb shank very poor steak pie ok not good when you are serving until 9pm if you want a roast go before 3pm I think

Came here with the family, the food is amazing and staff are so friendly and Kirk was very helpful and friendly.

What an amazing pub! The festive burger was delicious, I’d definitely recommend. Also the sticky toffee pudding was superb!!! Can’t wait to be back soon.

Had the Christmas menu was superb . Not often i leave any food but was so much . Service was great . Also table was done up very nice . We did not fancy wearing the Christmas hats this early but the waitress got in to the Christmas spirit for us . All round 10 out of 10

Very slow service. A two course meal with an hour wait for 1st course isn't great. They seemed well staffed too. Food was nice but far too long sitting waiting to get served and then food arriving here and there for our table so not eating together. Not impressed on this visit.

We visit quite often for the 'seniors' lunch, a drink and a good natter. Modest portions but not expensive, and very tasty.

Couldn’t tell you as was refused entry! Asked why, was told management just said no, asked if we could sit in bar area just for a few drinks and was again told no. Asked to sit outside and was also told no. No explanation as to why. Took our business down the road to Anne Boleyn who were very welcoming, good food and great prices. Ended up staying there whole afternoon into evening so The Cock Inn missed out on a huge amount of business. Should at least give reasons to potential customers rather than just rudely denying.

We had a great family gathering of 17 of us. The service was amazing, we felt so looked after. The food was delicious too. Everything from the atmosphere, staff and food was spot on. We certainly will be back. Thank you Everyone.

A good pub, with normal pub food. It has had some reasonable chefs recently. Wait for food was around an hour last visit due to its popularity. The service was however quite good and my dish was excellent with too much for me to eat. Update. My food this evening was the katsu chicken, I made a few changes, and was no issues whatsoever. The chicken was crip, the sauce very nice. And the garlic bread was brilliant. Beer options very good.

Lovely dinner beef rib bouignon with buttery mash and brocoli and gravy. With white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and colis for dessert.

My 5yo had a minor heartbreak as she was busy chatting and forgot to save her last chicken nugget until the end….Emily was a super star and came to the rescue with another chicken nugget! Saved the day.

Very disappointing lunch today. No bread was available therefore several dishes were off the menu. Didn't know this till we tried to order. My mum went thro the starter menu and EVENTUALLY something was available. My wrap was good apart from the pathetic rocket salad, could have included a tomato or cucumber. Can't believe something as simple as bread couldn't be sourced.

The food as always, was delicious. However, the staff weren’t very friendly & actually, came across as quite stand-offish. The woman behind the bar with red hair was blunt when I asked if there were any tables available for food (the restaurant and bar were empty at the time). When taking our order she wasn’t friendly and I felt rushed, despite there being no queue. Long wait between starters and mains and the waitress just kept laughing saying, it’s coming, it’s coming. I’d definitely return based on the food quality, but hope that the service improves.

We were there today Tues 13 aug and we have been a few times in the last month When we went in today a gentleman behind the bar said they were a little behind with food so there would be a wait I didn't think to ask how long just thought he meant 30mins we got there at 1.15pm and our food started coming out at 2.45pm so well over a hour for food I was watching and food was coming out probably every 25mins to 30 mins and though the food and service was good I do think they should address why it's taking so long to cook and bring food out this was a Tuesday I would hate to think how long you would wait at the weekend this isn't a bad review this is a suggestion that maybe it needs looking at turning custom away because people will have to wait over a hour for food is not a good idea in this day people will just go elsewhere

I only had soup as I had lunch waiting at home, I really only nipped in for a quick pint.

Bought 4 drinks, charged for 5, not sure was an error. Food slow to arrive and then one at a time so we coukdnt eat together, this happened with the puddings too. Only one vegan pudding but still got it wrong, giving me dairy ice cream. Not acceptable.

We booked a table for three and a dog, for lunchtime, We were seated in a cosy corner and served extremely well. Our chocolate lab, was made very welcome and given treats, they even have a doggy menu. We each had different main meals along with drinks from the bar. Holly, our lab, enjoyed a sausage which was served cut up in a doggy bowl. The food is delicious and each of us enjoyed our individual choices. This delightful venue is certainly going to be a regular visiting place. The staff are super efficient and extremely friendly.

Food was nice, I had a fish and chips which was alright and my partner a katsu curry which was also alright. For the price you can’t complain, drinks came out a while after the food which is not ideal but was lovely to sit in the garden and enjoy some fresh air whilst having a lunch.

Visited today. Ordered a pint of lemonade. Got a pint of fizzy water, no lemon flavour at all. Sat outside, and within 5 minutes was surrounded by smokers and dogs. Not a pleasant experience and I don't think I'll be back.

We are not frequent visitors, but whenever we go Sue is so friendly and knowledgeable about the food on offer and the drink that she makes us feel like valued regulars. The customer service is wonderful.

The food was the worst I ever had in england

Went out for lunch with hubby today. We've been here before and enjoyed our meal - but not today! He had Macaroni Cheese - EXTREMELY small portion, overcooked and not much taste. I had Lasagne - again, really small portion and again, really REALLY overcooked. In short, it was just a bowl of mush. I hadn't noticed at first, as it was scolding hot! But by the time I got halfway through, I decided I'd had enough. When the waitress came round to collect, she asked if everything was OK. I told her I hadn't enjoyed my meal as it was so overcooked. She said I should have said something sooner and she would have got me another one. But I'd had enough and guessed another one would only have been the same anyway. When we went to pay, the man behind the bar asked us if we'd enjoyed our meals. I told him the same and he just said "Oh sorry about that". I thought he may have offered us a refund or at least a reduction, but no such luck. I'm not one to make a fuss, so we just paid and left. Oh well, we won't be rushing back...

It’s very much what you would expect from a chain like this. The food is adequate, comes out quickly and hot, although slightly pricey for what it is. I have no doubt it’s pre-prepared and heated for service - even still is tasted good and portion sizes were ok. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, friendly and accommodating. Always ensuring we were ok and if we needed anything. Car park fills up really quickly, even at 12 you may struggle to get parked. The pub its self is well kept, but the toilets really need tidying up and a deep clean. They are pretty grotty with lots of dirt and water stains. Atmosphere was nice, although it got super busy within about an hour after opening.

Service was a bit slow today but we were not in a hurry I think the lovely weather had brought more people out than expected thankfully we pre booked (very easy to do via the Green King app!) our server, Emily, was particularly good especially as she and other members of staff were dealing with a new ordering system and a broken fryer! She was friendly and polite and did everything with a huge smile on her face. Food was good as it always is for the price and the atmosphere was great. Nice place to go for a spot of lunch!

Stopped off on the way home for a beer and bite to eat. Lovely looking pub and a great country ish location.. nice indoors and gardens. Seems very family friendly and has a playground too. We arrived on a busy sunny Sunday afternoon at around 5pm.. not too much of a wait to get sevied and staff (clearly busy) were friendly... Had a couple of pints .. all good.. and ordered the mushroom pie roast dinner and a beyond burger. For the price, the food was good/ok :)

After a really bad experience a few years back just after covid I ate here with my daughter and grandson we say outside. I asked to changes some items of my meal and the bar person checked with the chef and all was good. The waitresses were very efficient and the food was excellent. The timing were very good as well. The clearing of table was fast and so able to order deserts quickly so my grandson could carry on playing in the childrens area. After being in this trade for over 40 years myself in the past I was very impressed and would recommend 👌

10 people, friends and family in our party for Sunday lunch. The service was good, our order were taken at the table for food and drinks. We had to wait a while but we all got our meals at the same time. It was worth the wait as the food was excellent. Several Sunday roasts, steak pies, Hunters chicken and venusschnitzel.

The garden is fantastic for kids, lots of space and capacity. It's cheapish, compared to other surrounding similar pubs but the bar staff were a bit short with me TBH. Must have been having a bad day, but it definitely took a lot away from my first visit; hence the 3*, the waitress was very friendly though. Food; mediocre, filled a hole.
