Lovely restaurant, spicy food, which I love, friendly, and you can take your remaining food home, some places don't do that!

If 0 stars was an option, I would click it however it's not an option, so 1 star it is. Burnt onion bhajis, Chicken korma that was like chicken with milk on top, Jalfrazi was honestly , i could not take more than 1 bite, I ordered mushroom rice that has ACTUAL BIG MUSHROOMS in it. Don't order or go near here, this was terrible!!

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation. It did not disappoint, the staff were lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough. For 6 of us the bill was very reasonable. We will definitely be back to Rani's. Thank u

A small restaurant but authentic kerala flavours. We have tried Chilli paneer, Chicken chukka and Kili parotta. Loved every bit of the food. The service was great!

Not the best tbh but it was ok

Really bad food exception being to Gobi Manchurian. Fried rice and dosa are so off. Sambhar, chutney you can’t even take more than 1 spoon. I am surprised with fake reviews all over. Argumentative service manager, took 50 mins for first food to arrive at table. Fly in the second room, even found in beer glass. Sad as we ended with lot of expectations

Poppadoms supermarket style was a sign of what was to come. Meat really tough and chewy, curries to too rich in flavour. Staff were friendly so feel bad but ratings need to be more realistic as feel like wasted money.

Southern Indian cuisine so very different from Bangladeshi. Dishes are large so don’t over order. Can be pretty spicy too.

Really delicious food - options for veggies and those avoiding dairy... I love eating at Rani's - highly recommend the dhal and the masala dosa - these are my favourite dishes! They offer soft drinks and are now licensed (UPDATED: July 2024) selling wine, beer and spirits. We've been back several times and are working way through the menu.... I never fail to be impressed by the delicious food and friendly service.

It's as if I ordered Indian food from wish. Com. Nothing was quite what it should have been. Korma tasted like nothing and the biryani was overly hot

The meal was good however it should have been great as I feel that if it had came straight to us from the restaurant rather than the driver dropping off or collecting other orders before ours as they are known to do as driving for multiple platforms. It was like warm which let it down but you could tell it would have been great as I said.

Food given in an open bag with an oval dish at the bottom so the first time I braked it ended up over the floor of my brand new car. It being a pot of sauce that had not been closed properly. Once off my car carpet and on my plate the beef curry was inedibly hot. Shame as it seemed a nice sauce but given the other dish we had was fine and there was only one chilli between them I’m sure it was a mistake. Had high hopes based on the reviews, has a nice vibe about it. Unless you like insanely hot food though, avoid. It was an ordeal I won’t repeat…. It’s now 3am and I have woken up due to the spiciness which is burning like acid indigestion. The food i could taste, like the dosa, was bland. The dosa was soggy, I guess that’s an issue with boxing it and the reason for the oddly shaped box. I make a lot of reviews, I can’t remember being so disappointed in such a highly rated restaurant for 19 years. It was also luke warm because they made / bagged it in half the time Just Eat said they would. A bit hard to send it back with a takeaway…

The vermicelli payasam i have ordered was too salty when usually it is supposed to be sweet,don’t recommend it

Delivered in great time I did not wait long, I liked the chicken 65 a lot and big portion, lovely chicken. I ordered Indian curry’s . Next time I will try the Sri Lanka curry’s .

Superb delicious Kerala dishes. Cook George ettan is an expert man for our south Indian dishes. We had our daughter's birthday party there and the food was yummy. Chicken dum biryani, Chicken fry Kerala style, Kerala porotta and beef curry etc. Service was excellent. Many thanks to Rani's Restaurant management team for the excellent food and services. Will surely recommended.

Delicious food every time. Authentic Sri Lankan cuisine

Wow! Incredible food! Freshly made with a real taste of Sri Lankan cuisine! Their house special fried rice in particular was incredible!!! Staff are friendly and welcoming too. Wheelchair accessible, a little tight if restaurant is particularly busy. We went for lunchtime and it was much quieter which was wonderful. Atmosphere was relaxed, music was a little loud but otherwise nice. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back for more!

Order arrived late and soggy and cold. Restaurant gave three different stories when I called. Not likely to order again. Makes me miss Spices of Lanka

Food here is exceptional, staff very friendly and more than happy to go through the less obvious items available. No licence for alcohol during our visit but just across the road is a Tesco express, annoying that the door to the toilets and into the restaurant don’t auto close as it gets quite cold. Lighting also a little bright. But would definitely recommend.

This really is a gem of a place...huge credit to the team there. Our first visit here and we were wowed by this restaurant. Food was truly excellent. Superbly spiced and cooked extremely well. Prices were reasonable and portion size good. They are not licensed at the moment but there is a Tesco express opposite which has chilled wine/beer. We're back in a couple of days time.

Probably the best Sri Lankan, Indo / Chinese in Thanet! Ordered a takeaway chicken masala dosa, so tasty! Chilli chicken, chicken kadai, pilau rice and a mushroom curry. Great flavours all round. Nice n spicy. If it were Strictly, we’d give a 10!!

We had a lovely evening at Rani's Restaurant tonight. The owners are so friendly. I was kindly told what all the different dishes were that was being taken out to other people so that I could have a peek at the different things. It all looked great. I had vegetable rolls as a starter which were really nice and crispy. But the Kadai Chicken was just amazing, the chicken melted in my mouth, the sauce had so much flavour to it and the mushroom rice was overflowing in the pot it was served in and was just delicious. It all felt light to eat, no oily or greasy food. My husband had the Medium Vada to start, I had a taster lol, it was really nice. He had a Prawn Curry Sri Lankan style which, I had a taste of too 😂. He loved it and I did too 🤣. The sauce again had so much flavour and the prawns were cooked to perfection. The Masala tea is great too. We had a really wonderful night with amazing new dishes that we hadn't had before. What a gem of a restaurant, we will definitely be back to try other things on the menu and of course for dosa, we just didn't have any room left to eat that too tonight or we would have ordered it too 🤣. We can't wait to come back to see you again for more amazing new dishes to try out.

We decided to lunch here during a leisurely Sunday walk from Ramsgate to Broadstairs and back. Having been a resident in the area for about a year, finding quality South-Asian cuisine has proven to be a bit of a challenge. I'm currently participating in Veganuary and also have gluten intolerance so my dining options are somewhat restricted. The Dosa I ordered was nothing short of incredible. While it could have used a tad more potatoes and a crisper texture, its overall taste was great. The sides of dhal and okra were a revelation, standing out as the best I've had outside of London. The flavours were on point, with minimum grease. What truly added to the positive experience was the exceptionally friendly staff. Their warmth and attentiveness made the dining experience even more enjoyable. In a world where value for money is increasingly hard to come by, this establishment exceeded expectations. The prices were more than reasonable, making it a rare find in today's dining landscape.

The best Sri Lankan meal I have had anywhere and the best South Asian food I've found in Thanet (coming from the Midlands we have struggled to find anything comparable in the last 15 years here). Dosa's were exceptional. Staff were lovely and prices were reasonable...we will be back!.

We had takeaway from Rani's and we were blown away by the quality and authenticity of the food. We only moved to the area a few months ago and have been disappointed with the other South Asian restaurants we have tried so far but now we've found Rani's I very much doubt we'll go elsewhere. I'm not an expert on South Asian cuisine but I have travelled there extensively for work and in my opinion Rani's is among the best food I have eaten. Really top quality.

Starters took nearly an hour to appear , very over cooked, mains were very spicy no matter what spice rating was on the menu , very disappointed spoilt my wife's birthday celebration.

Amazing food and friendly atmosphere

We ordered a takeaway and the whole experience was great. We were phoned to say the order was ready a bit earlier than expected, so we could go and pick it up. The chicken balti and chicken dhansak were delicious. Lovely flavours, tasted freshly made and not at all oily. The staff were friendly and very pleasant and the restaurant seemed to have a nice atmosphere. I would recommend.

Best food I've eaten out in quite a while, brill to see mutton on menu, along with squid, crab n kingfish curry's, owner really nice. Seriously recommend it to anyone who likes a great curry+ take yer own booze making it a cheap night out. FAB.

Wonderful family run South Indian and Sri-Lankan restaurant in Ramsgate. The owner and his staff are friendly and very welcoming. The chef is the owner's wife who's name is Rani! The food is amazingly tasty and generous portions too. We had paper Dosa, mutton kottu, devil mutton and Sri-Lankan squid curry and devil crab and squid for starters dessert - payasam. All the dishes were excellent. We have already been there twice in the last 3 weeks. Best to make a reservation so that you won't be disappointed as generally weekends it's heaving. The place is v clean and nicely decorated. As they haven't got their liquor licence yet, you could take your own drinks. Parking too is not too much of a hassle as could park down the near by, by roads free of charge. We used to enjoy "Riz" v much and was sad when they changed hands n eventually closed! So was v happy to find this amazing little restaurant and enjoy their mouth watering dishes! Hope standards will be maintained. Rani's may you go from strength to strength!

What a lovely Indian restaurant! Visited yesterday evening with my husband and received a warm welcome from the owner and his staff. Authentic food, lots of choice, generous portions. All well cooked and presented. Very clean tables and restaurant. The premises have been tastefully renovated and refurbished to a high standard. Chairs very comfortable. Nice ambience. Will definitely visit again.
