We had ordered kotthu paratha and idiyappam..the taste was underwhelming and the food smelled strongly of egg. Overall, a disappointing experience.

I dont don't do reviews very often but it's small family business . Best Sri Lanka food.. I had prawn SriLanka style and crispy fried squid, try it if you around. Recommend to every one who want to try south Indian food.

I am a huge dosa fan and Rani's doesn't disappoint, the Mysore Masala Dosa is brilliant: light and crispy Dosa with a great potato filling and coconut chutney. Love the spinach Dal as well, such a treat to have home cooked food. Service is always friendly and warm

You must visit this amazing restaurant/takeaway, everything i ate was delicious, perfectly cooked the perfect amount of spicing this meal had it all, depth of flavour and reasonably priced for sri is and the food. I am 💯 recommending Rani’s Restutant 85 Hereson Road Ramsgate.

Delicious South Indian and Sri Lankan menu. Seafood varieties is a must try. Many vegetarian Doasa and curry options. If you like Indian food generally you will like the experience. Parking available oppsite to St Ethelberte Church and also adjacent to the shop.

This is an absolute gem. Eating here brought back memories of being in Sri Lanka. All the food was excellent and very authentic. This is no run of the mill curry house, a true taste of Sri Lanka. Worth travelling for.

This is a really brilliant find. Amazing food. The best curry I’ve eaten outside of Sri Lanka. It’s Sri Lankan and Keralan flavours with some dishes we haven’t seen anywhere else including Nethli Meen Varuval - a spiced deep fried anchovy dish with curry leaves that was incredible (pictured). Expect the food to be spicy and delicious. The kids’ masala dosa also went down very well. Staff were also very friendly and tolerant of our rabble.

Rani is an absolute gem! The food was bursting with authentic flavors—every dish tasted homemade with so much love. I have visited this restaurant several times in the last couple months.The customer service here is excellent. The diner's every need is attended to, and every question is answered. The atmosphere is well set by the cultural wall art. I absolutely recommend it. So good!

The food was absolutely fantabulous. We’ve come here for a special occasion and we’ve had such a great experience. The food was amazing(ignore the 4), the service was the best we’ve had so far, couldn’t be better. Finally, the atmosphere is very homely, the owners are so warm and gentle, you’ll literally not want to leave. They were helpful in our decision for what to eat as we needed some pointers, the ingredients used were very strongly Indian, original and authentic. In all, they made the celebration even more enjoyable. We are happy to give a very generous 8.5/10.

That was a fine find. Not what you'd expect on road full of housing between Broadstairs and Ramsgate. An ex-grotty pub put to very good use, 30 seconds walk from the always excellent Honeysuckle Inn. A fine variety of south Indian food, great, friendly service too. You know an Indian restaurant is good when Indians go there too. Nice.

Excellent thali which is new on the menu with 10 items served with rice and chapatti. Highly recommended!

If I have option of rating 0 I would have rated them,they took so much time to serve food and bought everything at same time leaving no place on table. As a south indian, food was so bad not even taste like south indian food and they are trying to explain they got south indian chef and I don't think they had south food any time. I would not suggest any indian to go there to have food expecting our flavours.

Best South Indian and SriLankan food in Kent with taste and flavour matching Indian standards. If you want proper Indian food with spices, this is the place for it. Would recommend to try prawn devilled starter, chicken kothu paratha and egg aapam.

As always a lovely warm welcome. The South Indian /Sri Lankan food was plentiful ,delivered hot and extremely tasty. This is not the place to go for run of the mill Indian food, they do not do Pakistan, Bengali foods they specialize specifically in South Indian and Sri Lankan dishes.. If you want to try something different and authentic please go and support this lovely restaurant you will not be disappointed. The king fish and mango curry was so tasty and the chicken fry delicious.. This restaurant caters for everyone as long as you love delivious mouth watering South Indian and Sri Lankan foods, so please go along and try it the owners will welcome you with open arms. #bestinthanet

Incredible food + incredible service <3

I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday because it was advertised as an Indian restaurant. However, upon trying the food, it became evident that the cuisine leaned more toward Sri Lankan flavors rather than authentic Indian dishes. For anyone from an Indian or Pakistani background, I’d recommend keeping in mind that their spices and flavor profiles are quite different and might leave you feeling disappointed. On a positive note, the staff was genuinely friendly, especially the gentleman who welcomed us. He was very courteous and attentive, even noticing toward the end that we had left a lot of food and kindly asked if the taste didn’t meet our expectations. While the service was great, the food didn’t quite live up to the promise of being Indian cuisine. Would i go back? Probably not for the food, but the staff definitely deserves a mention for their excellent hospitality.

Love Rani's, beautifully cooked dishes and a different menu from most Indian restaurants, try the Sri Lankan dishes if you like spice, or the dosa if you prefer mild

Lovely restaurant, spicy food, which I love, friendly, and you can take your remaining food home, some places don't do that!

If 0 stars was an option, I would click it however it's not an option, so 1 star it is. Burnt onion bhajis, Chicken korma that was like chicken with milk on top, Jalfrazi was honestly , i could not take more than 1 bite, I ordered mushroom rice that has ACTUAL BIG MUSHROOMS in it. Don't order or go near here, this was terrible!!

A small restaurant but authentic kerala flavours. We have tried Chilli paneer, Chicken chukka and Kili parotta. Loved every bit of the food. The service was great!

Really bad food exception being to Gobi Manchurian. Fried rice and dosa are so off. Sambhar, chutney you can’t even take more than 1 spoon. I am surprised with fake reviews all over. Argumentative service manager, took 50 mins for first food to arrive at table. Fly in the second room, even found in beer glass. Sad as we ended with lot of expectations

Poppadoms supermarket style was a sign of what was to come. Meat really tough and chewy, curries to too rich in flavour. Staff were friendly so feel bad but ratings need to be more realistic as feel like wasted money.

Southern Indian cuisine so very different from Bangladeshi. Dishes are large so don’t over order. Can be pretty spicy too.

Really delicious food - options for veggies and those avoiding dairy... I love eating at Rani's - highly recommend the dhal and the masala dosa - these are my favourite dishes! They offer soft drinks and are now licensed (UPDATED: July 2024) selling wine, beer and spirits. We've been back several times and are working way through the menu.... I never fail to be impressed by the delicious food and friendly service.
