Little Swift in Thanet

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The friendliest people, the best wine and lots of lovely goodies to munch on. And the music! So good! Definite must visit when in Maragte. And don’t get me started on the views of the see. An absolute gem x

Little Swift is one of my absolutely favourite venues in Margate - and has hands down the best selection of natural wines in town. This is a great spot if you want to drink your way through a really well-thought out & interesting wine list, but the craft beer selection (both tap & can) is amazing too. Equally the seasonal cocktails are quite special and the team really goes above and beyond to integrate local and seasonal produce into them. My favourite spot is upstairs in one of the window seats with a glass of orange! You can’t go wrong ☺️🍷🙏

Been coming to Little Swift for years and love the location, innovative cocktails - especially a slushie in the summer months, snack selection and friendly team. Plus with that view, you can't really beat the experience, we always bring our visitors here and find it hard to leave 💜

There's lots about this place that say it will be great - the menu, and the impressive selection of wines for example. We went on what should be a quiet day just after Christmas (and it was, lookibg around the town) , but the staff simply couldn't cope. We sat at a recently vacted table, and has to flag someone down to wipe it - fine. But then waited a while for our order, which we had to shout to the staff because the music was really at a ridiculous level for the day and time. The selection of wines by the glass is a little disappointing, but I'm aware that keeping several bottles open could be expensive However I wish they'd swap out some of their trendy biodiverse, orange stuff for some can't-go-wrong Bordeauxs or Chardonnays. Won't be going again, especially now there's a place called Pomus that made us feel really welcome, with all staff knowledgable on the wines.

Whilst the wine selection looks good, it’s actually very difficult if you are hard of hearing or even deaf to speak to your group. So much so it was quite off putting. Despite wanting to enjoy the ambiance you’d be better off with the Two Halves with their exceptional sound proofing or Pomus with their lovely wines and friendly staff

This is an excellent winebar with some extraordinary wines. Worth a detour.

I cannot fault this place. Absolutely stunning venue, excellent choice of everything. Staff absolutely fantastic, so knowledgeable and friendly and always there to help. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Put simply: the best bar in the world. I've been going here since day one. I think Graham beat me through the door as the first customer, but I'm happy to have been second! The views out across the main sands are stunning, even more so at sunset. Personal favourites are the Augustiner bottles in the fridges and the Flensburger on tap, the on tap G&T (think they are £5 - bargain!) and the cocktails are all fantastic - I had an English French Martini on New Year's Eve which was phenomenal, but also have the fondest memories of many Margaritas sat out the front in summer sun. There is such a welcoming atmosphere, and a genuinely lovely vibe from the staff who clearly care deeply about their customers having the best of times. The upstairs is such a brilliant place for a bash - a few friends have had it for private hire, which has worked so well having a space for everyone to chill out and / or party (depending on the vibe :) Top tip: don't miss the events they put on. Last month I went to a brilliant tasting by Sam at Boxcar brewery; can't wait for the Natural Wine tasting later this month!

Arrived late into a rainy Margate, then after a great meal at Angela’s we popped into Little Swift for a nightcap. Fab welcome and some tasty beers available for their Oktoberfest. Will go back to try the Mikkeller Oktoberpretzel 🍺

Genuinely quirky (good way) with a top notch craft selection and eclectic music. Feels like a real labour of love which I in turn love. I highly recommend a stop off.

Lovely bar overlooking the sea! We booked a table for a hen do group of 11 and they booked us a great table with a view outside from their upstairs. Lovely cocktails and the staff were fantastic. Thanks, we'll be back next time we're in Margate! Well priced cocktails averaging about 10 each

Paid £9 for a takeaway frozen cocktail. Nice variety of cocktails and great you could takeaway so easily - saw so many people with a cup from Little Swift over the day. Nice friendly staff

Such a great bar. Jordan and Bella were so attentive and the reason we went back several times over the weekend we spent in Margate. Cocktails were yummy, especially the frozen spicy margarita. Chilled vibes. Great recommendations. Don’t miss this if you’re in Margate!

Don’t go to little swift for swift service… waited over 20 min for 2 drinks (and I had to follow up - I'd probably still be waiting if i hadn't…)

Popped in for a swift pint and some wine, also grabbed some provisions from the deli. Again, much like everywhere we went to in Margate, amazing hospitality and real passion for what they're putting out there. The vibe is laid back, it's comfy, unpretentious, feels like a social club meets wine bar - lots going on with various events promoted, a real hub of energy. If it wasn't raining sideways and trying to blow the roof off, the seafront view and ability to drink outside would no doubt be excellent. Will be returning. 🐶 Dog friendly too

Friendly service and Great beer selection.

Really nice selection of craft beers and wine. Also a decent bottle shop with some interesting bio dynamic wines. Good position on the front to watch the sunset when the weather is decent too.

Superb spot for wine and cocktails. Also has provisions for beach picnics and hiking lunches. Outstanding selection of carefully selected but still affordable wines made accessible and easy to order by well crafted list descriptions. And brilliant, welcoming service. We visited for pre-dinner drinks during a weekend visit from London, and left with a list of the best places to eat and drink in Margate and beyond. We could not have felt more welcome, and we can't wait to get back.

Quirky little place with music from vinyls, lovely small events and deli. Lovely wines, althought a bit pricey.

Not to everyone's taste, unfortunately it wasn't for me The staff seemed a little overwhelmed with a coffee and lager order which took 15 mins to arrive Also there is an automatic 1.25% service charge which MUST be paid regardless of service quality My pint was advertised as £5.50 but cost me £5.57, I know its only 7p but this should be advertised as £5.57 We left as the speed of service was very slow If you do chose to dine here, all ask is be aware that you pay more than the advertised price, just in case you were thinking about leaving a tip, it might already be hidden on the bill

Best place for a hangout with a fantastic atmosphere and very welcoming staff. The idea, of which I've never come across before, of being able to personally choose a vinyl record from their huge selection blew me away. What a cool concept. Ten out of ten, definitely recommend

This is such a hipster little gem of a bar/resto right by the sea. I loved the team, the decor and the concept. The combination of the summer afternoon sun, frozen Pina Coladas, craft beer and an amazing cheese platter to share with friends made this place; simply perfect! Thank you lovely ‘Little Swift’!

Had a great afternoon in the upstairs part of the bar. The staff were really friendly and service was excellent. Dog friendly.

Lovely little bar with great views. Good range of well made cocktails, draft and bottled beers and wines. The food menu looked good. We only stopped for drinks before dinner. Friendly and accommodating staff. We had booked a table for 11 for 5pm and as some of us arrived 20 minutes earlier, they were happy to offer us a temp table until ours was ready. If you are in Margate do pay a visit. You won’t regret it!

The cocktails here are amazing! Definitely pay a visit when you are in Margate. The slushie cocktails are fabulous and the coastal negroni is delightful. A great place to sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by.

Lovely! Booked a table for my birthday and was lucky enough to be seated on the first floor by the huge bay windows with views of the sea. Such a cute place, staff are delightful, relaxed and fun vibe with a sophisticated cocktail and wine list. We really enjoyed the great quality cheese and charcuterie platters. Reasonable prices too, given how delicious the drinks are.

Fantastic venue and quality food and drinks. Craft beer is always the best in town. And the hosts Steve and Charlotte are equally always first class . Highly recommended!

Great bolt hole that I returned to three times in a one night getaway. Visited the deli, had a delicious margarita (what a shame, only served as a double portion, whoops), and for a refreshing lunch time beer. Charming team, who were so helpful, fun atmosphere and overlooking the sea. Go Go Go!

Perfect little seaside view window seats with a brilliant selection of beers, and great vegan sharing platters! Home away from home.

Really nice & relaxed vibe, great music and in a prefect location. Loved the wine, drinks & side plates selection on offer. We went for a bottle of natural Portuguese wine, Uivo Curtido with sides of some big juicy olives. You guys are smashing it!

We had good experience with the food and drink. Then the very slim lady who works there approached us when we asked for the bill with the card machine, where our third friend was in the loo to pay the bill. We asked her to come back when our friend is back to the table, she refused it and pushed two of us to pay the bill. We found it very rude.

A great bar with a relaxed vibe. There is a huge selection of beers, ciders, cocktails and wines, as well as a fantastic range of non alcoholic drinks. There are some great sharing platters as well as a wide variety of crisps with exotic flavours. Additionally, there are some delicious, high quality smoked meats and fish to take away that are amazing in salads and sandwiches.

The little swift is my favourite place to go to in Margate. It’s perfectly placed on Margate seafront and perfect for catching the sunset. The selection of drinks and food is always incredible and the staff are lovely. Would definitely recommend!

The frozen cocktails were phenomenal! We also had a wonderful conversation with the owner while making a wine selection for later at home. His wine recommendation was excellent.

We frequently visit Little Swift. We tend to get a couple of mixed platters to share. Their on tap beer choice is great and you can get wine and all sorts of other drinks. They have service at beach street level and inside. The bar is on the first floor and there is another area upstairs from that which gives a commanding view of the beach. The service is always good and they are very welcoming to multi-generational family groups.

From outside doesn't look like much but when you walk in and you've got excellent views of the harbour. It's a right treat. Service was excellent and very intensive people. Cheese was divine!

Lovely little bar in a seafront location doing a nice range of cocktails and more. Also an excellent range of small dishes and platters are on offer which look to be from top ingredients. I need to go back and explore more!

Lovely food and wine, good service

Lovely views and great location. However stale bread and watching the waiter pour water from one tables water bottle into another for reuse later seemed unhygienic. Tables went cleared either and the upstairs smelled a lot of cheese because of it.

Favourite bar in Margate that we visited during our short break there recently. Enjoyed great beers and tempting cocktails. Amazing sunset views from the first floor. Staff were lovely: friendly and efficient. We even got to choose the vinyl soundtrack at the end of the evening! If you visit Margate, come here!

A lovely space with a relaxed and friendly vibe. Staff were very welcoming, eager to offer suggestions on food and wine. The vegan platter is particularly good, with a lot of the sampled foods being available to purchase seperately at the back. Highly recommend!

Views of the sunset, like everyone says are spectacular, the sun disappears in just a few minutes too. Nice relaxing retro music and they took request too! Very dog friendly, nice range of NEIPAs. We spent a very pleasant few hours there, a broad mix of people, lady who served us was very friendly. A lovely bar on the front and we didn't even get round to going upstairs either...

We came here for my mum's birthday and they were so so great - the venue is beautiful with a view of the coast and our waiter Charlotte went out of their way to make our experience incredible - for example they wrote down recommendations for takeouts after we asked about them, which went more than above and beyond. Tasty drinks as well!
