So sad that this bar remains closed - it’s difficult to understand why the reason given is “staff shortages”? Just pay them a decent wage and recover the cost on the drink prices! It’s a lovely spot to stop and have a nice cold beer on a sunny day.

Went here on hot sunny day the place was open to visit but no staff. No drinks or food absolutely ridiculous. Sign saying sorry not able to open due to staff shortages

Used to love this place. The stars and figures hiven are as low as poss as there are no zeroes. Fantastic spot but been "temporarily" closed for some time allegedly due to no staff. Please dont let this place go into disrepair . It would be 4/5 if still operating

I had a drink here at this bar and a very pleasant chat with the barman. He gave me lots of recommendations about various drinks and various local pubs. The location couldn't be better, at the top of The Great Orme. This place was lovely and clean. A great place and a great beer with staggering scenery.

You always risk getting ripped off at food/drink establishments at tourist attractions, but this pub had a couple of local ales on tap for £3.50, which I thought was quite reasonable. Add the majestic views you get on clear days such as this one and its an absolute bargain.

Short changed and the barman said can't check until closing. Could be an honest mistake, but it still feels a bit cheeky when it's their mistake.

This place seems to run along the lines of maximize revenue from once-only tourists. This is short-sighted because many visitors, like myself, are multiple repeat visitors. It's not that bad but the prices reflect the fact that they're the only place at the top of the Orme.

A young man was helping us and we received a good service as we were a large group and confused him by giving him a big order. However he stayed polite and calm and got it all right! Coffee and ice cream was good too!

We came across the bar by accident. We learned that Randolph Turpin the famous boxer once owned it. There are mat photographs to view along with other memorabilia. They also serve a nice drink as well.

After exploring the Great Orme, I decided to call in at Turpin's for a swift pint and, being a real ale fan, I ordered a pint of a local brew. Unfortunately, when I received it, it turned out to be completely undrinkable. Needless to say, I poured it away in disgust. I have no idea if this has anything to do with inexperience in keeping real ale or what but, in future, if I fancy a drink when I have been on the Great Orme, I shall go to the King's Head at the bottom, where the beer is excellent.

Great little pub. Stopped in for a quick pint after several hours of hiking around the Great Orme before jumping on the cable car back down. Had a nice local cask style ale they manually pull to pour, it was nice and creamy! My wife had a Jack and coke, and was surprised to know they actually use a soda gun rather than needing to a a whole bottle! Staff are friendly and there's outdoor seating available to enjoy the wonderful views!

Had to queue twice for my drinks as we wanted coffee from one side and was told to queue again for the bar drinks, so the coffee went cold!Ordered a pint of Thatchers cider but was actually given Strongbow. When I checked at the bar the large Thatchers sign on the pump and tap actually had a tiny strongbow logo underneath too, very misleading. Staff were uninterested when I tried to enquire, so won't be returning here sorry

Has finally received the long needed renovation and best of all is now serving beer from the Great Orme Brewery. Great selection of ice cream if that's you thing, it is not and you're over 18 go for one of the top notch local ales. Don't forget to check out the displayed information on Randy Turpin too, if you love sport or just have a heart you will want to find more when you get back home.

Popped in to the Randolph Turpin predominantly to get out of the wind, but also to treat ourselves to an ice-cream. It wasn't cheap - £4.50 for 2 single scoop cones, but worth it for the tastiness of the ice-cream and the spectacular views.

We sat in the Turpin cafe bar, which has seating for over 100 people. They sell hot food and a selection of cakes. They also sell hot and cold drinks and ice cream. I had carrot cake which was quite big and tasted very good and a pot of tea, which gave me a cup and a half. The place was clean and the staff very friendly. There is also a gift shop attached and a cash machine ( which charges for withdrawals). Would eat here again.

When you've got to the top of the Great Orme take some time to call into the Randolf Turpin Bar - you don't have to be a customer to pop in & browse the literature & many historic photos on the walls. Spend a few minutes watching the aged fight footage - we did - it was black & white and a trip down memory lane for us!The bar serves alcohol, beverages, soft drinks & delicious fresh cream treats & cakes too. I did see several folk tucking into great looking pub grub but we didn't partake this time as we were due to meet friends in Llandudno for lunch. There's seating outside if you've taken your dog there with you & lots of water bowls for pets to refresh with too.

This establishment at the summit of the Great Orme is something of a blot on the landscape, although it has been smartened up a little over recent years. However, on a hot, summer's day, we were glad of somewhere to have a quite drink and also to enjoy the extensive views. This is not somewhere that we would make any effort to especially visit, but we were glad of it at the time.

Had lunch on a Thursday, was told 10 to 15 minute wait. After 20 minutes asked again and was told it would be another 10 minutes in fact it took 15 minutes. Then to cap it all off was over charged by £5. Not a good experience, but at least food was tasty.

My friend & I went for a few drinks in Randolph Turpin Bar, in the summit complex of the great orme, Llandudno, after visiting & taking in the amazing views of the great Orme (on a separate review). The staff was friendly, and good service. The drinks was reasonably priced. Randolph Turpin Bar had a lot of memorabilia of the boxer, whom once owned the summit complex in 1952. It had a friendly atmosphere, we had a nice time.

Yes the views are amazing. Just a shame this place isn't!. It felt like a canteen with added memorabilia. Unfortunately the prices didn't match the surroundings. If you are going to have a meal there you may need a mortgage!! I only had coffee and biscuits and it left a dent in my purse. Wasn't the greatest coffee either

Turpin's Bar is located in the summit complex at the top of the Great Orme, which means it's not the easiest place to pop to for a quick pint. It's named after the boxer Randolph Turpin who in the 1950's not only became the world middleweight champion by beating Sugar Ray Robinson but also bought the summit complex and opened boxing themed bar here. The current bar will be of interest to boxing fans because it's a minor treasure trove of boxing memorabilia, with an obvious emphasis on the 1950's.I'm personally not interested in boxing but that's not a problem because the other selling point of this bar is the outdoor terrace which offers some of the best views you'll find from any pub anywhere in the UK and probably anywhere on the planet. Given it's location this isn't somewhere that will ever become anyone's local but at least one drink on the terrace should be on everyone's to-do list.

Stopped in her for lunch on our walk to Conwy. Lovely restaurant and views. The food was mediocre if I'm honest and my wife's fish tacos were utterly tasteless. I guess you are paying for the views as the food is average to say the least based on our choices!
