Rainbow in Leeds

Ordered half a crispy duck £19 and some prawn toast. Prawn toast overcooked. Crispy duck, half the container was bones! The rest not crispy just greasy. Sent the chinese a private message, no response hence this. Never again. I have pictures.

Crap. Spent £60 on food then when I got home majority of food was cold. Will stick to hai loi tang

An "ok" chinese takeway. Nothing wrong with it, food was fresh, they followed requests for no garlic, but the beef with ginger and SPRING onions didn't have any spring about, just plenty of ordinary onions. But prawn crackers were free. Very difficult to find a readable menu - faceybooky is dire.

Lovely family run Chinese takeaway with plenty of options to suit a variety of tastes. Crispy chili beef is one of my favourites. Always enjoy the rice and nice prawn crackers which often compliment the meals

We have used this take away every few weeks for over 20 years and have always been very happy with the quality of the food, though some times the food is exceptionally fresh tasting but it never drop below very good. Then it appears there has been a change of ownership and there was a wobble! We had a take-away about 6 weeks ago, and the portion size was smaller, the food was a bit bland and they failed to cook all the dishes we ordered and even argued they had only changed us for the dishes we had. This was not true! So a third trip to the shop and we were refunded the cost of the dish they failed to cook but said they had not charged us for! Not a great introduction. Anyway, this week we gave them a second chance and they excelled, sort of! The food was once again fresh and tasty though the chicken satay and the Szechuan beef could have done with being a bit spicier! The duck was cooked to perfection as were the prawns Everything else with the food was fine. A decent portion, well cooked and presented. But the big negative: why not be honest with your wait times? They do themselves more harm by not being honest with wait times. Telling someone it will be 20 mins when it will be at least 40 mins is not helpful! We had to go back twice as our meal was not ready the first time when we arrived at the time they said it would be ready! I don't think they would lose business by telling the truth about how long it will take to cook. I think they will lose business by giving people unrealistic expectations of when their order will be ready!

Saturday evening called in for a curry on my way home from a night out, No curry sauce so no curries? A chinese take away without curry sauce on a Saturday!! Chips where warmed up dry rubbish and the kung po was a couple of pieces of fatty meat with mainly onions and peppers. Most of it went in the bin, id have been better off not bothering and making myself beans on bloody toast!

Worst £28 ive spent. Salt and pepper chicken and chips were plain. Chow mein was watery and tasteless. Prawn toast was weird and horrendous. Special curry was awful. Didnt eat it.

First time we have ordered from here, phone order so turned up expected the food to be ready, had to wait an additional 20mins...Chicken wings were burnt to a crisp, special chow mein was tasteless ended up putting it all in the bin...Won't be ordering from here again...

Not impressed. Used this place for years, not been in for a long time but ? Somethings changed ,don’t know what but it was terrible tonight,tasteless ,special fried rice. Meat chewy, king prawns mm not sure if cooked really,,did not eat much of it , maybe new chef ??needs to re think whatever they done. Wasted my money. Left one star because could not leave none

Looking forward to a classic Salt ‘n’ pepper chips. A simple Chinese chippy staple. Did not deliver. No onions / chillis / soy sauce. Just a box with chips.

we've ordered here a few times & always loved it. food tastes lovely & fresh with good quality ingredients. portion sizes are good, too. the only minor disappointed for me is that they don't do chicken balls in sweet & sour sauce as that's one of my favourite things to order with a Chinese, but plenty of alternatives on their menu. friendly staff, too. always busy in there when i collect, which is a good sign!

Not much taste, beef was like chewing leather. Sorry wouldn't recommend

This place is brilliant. Food is tasty and priced sensible.

Great tasting food. Can be quite busy and have on occasion left out part of the order (not intentionally i dont think). Double check your order in the shop to be safe. Friendly and polite staff and great food. Musy try the prawns and seasonal veg if they have it!

In 20 years I have not had a bad meal. As good as you can get outside China

Take away only. Quick and tasty. No delivery. They take card. No website and the Facebook page only has photos of the menu though. Generous portions.

Credit where credit's due. Another beautifully fresh and tasty meal tonight. Friendly service and prompt cooking. 15 minutes after calling and it's ready to collect. Thanks.

Good value for money and good food, beef is not too stringy or chewy either which I tend to find at other takeaways

Always find that the best takeaways don't provide a delivery service.

Marks old favourite, picked us up food for a cosy night in. It didn’t disappoint lots or flavour and low grease. It just a shame they don’t deliver but it’s worth the drive.

We’ve ordered from here twice and both times the food was absolutely delicious. Totally worth collecting from here due to the quality of the food.

I use this place all the time, I drive from stanningley to come here as i always thought the food was fantastic, however, tonight the food is disgraceful I wouldn't feed the the prawn toast that cost £3.70 to a dog, sad

Ordered chicken satay, but tasted of nothing just chicken and beansprouts in a box. No sauce or flavouring? My husband got chicken chow mein which he said was also tasteless. Wont use again.

Excellent cuisine and prompt service

Great, love it. Has been a local takeaway for a long time and it's very nice. Always friendly and the food is very tasty. Have a take away as a treat and this is always good. Don't really experiment too much with different dishes, always seem to stick to the same really but that's just me. Would recommend. In fact I have friends that used to live in Farsley that now travel to collect a take away from the Rainbow.

Was ok, but had better, but had worse too, the beef was really fatty, rice bland.

Previously I would have said the best Chinese around (I travel from Bradford to get their food). Tonight however the chicken in ok sauce tasted like chicken in hp sauce. Salt and pepper ribs were greasy not crispy, hardly any meat just gristle and fat and chips tasted like they were reheated. Very disappointing on this occasion
