Had surf and turf, lovely 8oz rump steak, 5 pieces of scampi with chips and peppercorn sauce for under £15. Lovely food and served piping hot, pleasant staff and very clean pub. Highly recommend, great value and friendly service.

What an excellent venue, from the outside it doesn't look very appealing however once you are inside its totally different, we stayed for several days due to a local wedding and the staff were out of this world, the breakfast was great each morning, the staff were friendly and chatty and very informative about the area. There is parking at the rear and also at the front although the front does have a time limit on it but according to the locals the local council very rarely if ever enforce it. We would happily use again when visiting the area.... Do not be put off by the outside appearance it really is a great venue.

Stayed at the Railway Crossings for 5 days and I have to say it was a great place to stay, eat and drink. Made to feel welcome from the moment I stepped through the door, the room I had was great, spotless and very comfortable. The thing that really sets this place apart is the staff, who are absolutely fabulous, and that is all of them, the bar staff and the locals are extremely friendly, and I enjoyed my stay very much. They even arranged a cover of snow for my final morning, which made it feel like December for sure 😊

The best pub Sunday Dinner I've had in a long time! Properly roasted potatoes and parsnips, lean and tender meat, and flavoursome fresh vegetables. And, excellent gravy! Six of us enjoyed our meals today, and all agreed they were 'faultless'. Super-friendly staff made our visit even more pleasant. Thank you.

Stayed and ate here. My mum and I were visiting family and stayed here based on a recommendation from someone who had stayed as well, and I’m glad we did. Lovely place, with great service, staff, food and rooms. Staff were lovely and so helpful. The food was delicious, we had breakfast and dinner. Great fried egg sandwich, fish & chips and sponge puddings. The rooms were nicely done and had everything you’d need. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Came on Saturday night for a one night visit. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. The included breakfast was a really good cooked breakfast . The rooms seem like they have been newly refurbished to a good standard. Really comfortable bed. Although we were upstairs and a lively bar was below, we hardly heard a thing when we got back to the room. Would 100% recommend a stay here

We were in the area for a funeral having travelled from the Midlands and called in here after leaving a local club where the wake was held. Didn’t know what to expect as the external looks don’t represent the inside which is very modern and comfortable. Good selection of beers and not expensive. Didn’t have food so can’t can’t comment but they did have a large jar of pork scratchings on the bar which were great. Enjoyed ourselves so much we changed our taxi booking by an hour but we’re still sorry to leave when it arrived.

This is our local, never tried curry night before so thought we'd give it a go. Choice of 3/4 curries served with chips, rice, naan and poppadoms. Very tasty and for £10 per person, incl a pint, you can't grumble. One of the best curry's we've had in a pub ever! Well done to all !

Believe it or not this is few mins walk from our house. On a few occasions we have tried to eat here to no avail. The times we have tried we have been told they have run out of food and we have left. Not much of an impressive start with new owners. Got to point stopped bothering. Pub itself is OK but can get very busy but that can't be a bad thing.

My wife and I drove up from Southend-on-Sea for lunch with friends who drove over from West Yorkshire to have lunch with us on Saturday 14th September. I don't know if the 5 of us took the chef by surprise. We all started with garlic mushrooms, which arrived on what appeared to be a slice of bread. The fish and chips were left,--- "soggy" was what I heard. I had the peppered chicken breast which was so small it appeard to float on the sauce. I didn't find the whole meal to be a good experience. All in all, 4.5/10

Visited with a group of friends last Thursday tea time as Steak night was recommended (two steaks, all the trimmings, two desserts and a bottle of wine for 24.95). There was of course other options available on the menu - burgers, Hunters chicken, hanging kebabs etc - all for around the price of 9.95. Four of us opted for the steaks and we weren't disappointed - steak, choice of chunky chips or fries, onion rings, salad, tomatoes, mushrooms and a choice of peppercorn sauce of Stilton and mushroom. Dessert choices were chocolate fudge cake, sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble all served with either cream, ice cream or custard. Washed down with a bottle of red. Other friend got the chicken burger and it was so big she had to chop it into pieces and it back in her bun! Needless to say all portions were of a generous size. Wait wasn't too long either - about 25 mins. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Will definitely be returning soon.

Following us moving close to the village 6 months ago we decided to pop in for a drink one afternoon. Really welcoming lovely pub and the menu looked great. We've now become regular visitors and the food is fantastic- the chicken Parmo is our favourite and is so fresh and made with quality ingredients.

Came here with a friend who lives local. The pub looks very traditional, no frills! Personally I love this atmosphere in a pub. Menu was very simple, just what's needed. No fuss burgers, grills, fish. I went for the black and blue burger with skin on chips. I was no disappointed! The HUGE burger came in a soft sesame bun with fresh salad and bacon. It wasn't dripping with a blue cheese sauce it had just the right amount! The burger was very tasty and extremely juicy, well worth the probable calories! The skin on chips looked homemade, if not they were a very good quality! They were seasoned perfectly! The accompanying sauce was lovely too! All served on a trendy chopping board. For £8.95 fabulous! The staff were friendly and relaxed, not in your face. I enjoyed this little stop off and would bring people back here if I'm back

The food on offer is really great, we had steaks but the choice was varied but limited meaning every dish was there because they can cook it well. Great deserts too. The atmosphere was good but it is a pub setting and you are eating in the bar so a little lack of ambiance is the only reason I give 4/5. Absolutely recommended anyone to eat here. You will not be disappointed.

Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink. Both dog and baby friendly. Nice and quick for food to come out. Ordered some cheese on toast which wasn’t on the menu for our little one and they very happily sorted this out and provided childrens cutlery and plates.
