Came here for dinner as a party of 3, service was slightly slow as only 1 person seemed able to take orders despite several staff on duty. Food was very good and decent value for money, all staff were friendly so would happily return and recommend

It took 30 minutes to give our order. By the time we received our food 3 tables who came in after us had eaten and were waiting on their mains. We got food an hour after we were seated. Waitress grumpy when we complained. Porcini mushroom sauce overpowering, battered haddock slimy and greasy and bizarre veg combo of cauliflower cheese and ham and peas in the same dish. Unappetising. Last time we go there

Very poor quality of food, lacked service and atmosphere, extremely overpriced for quality, quickest thing to arrive was the bill!

I really don’t like to say bad things about this restaurant but I feel in this instance I must.I have visited occasionally over time and been quite satisfied with both the service and the food but on our last visit I had to go to the toilet and because of COVID restrictions I had to wait till the toilet became vacant..When the door opened a member of the kitchen staff emerged an walked straight past the sanitising point and into the kitchen.I did my toilet and turned to wash my hands,was shocked to see a perfectly dry sink and no wet towels in bin.Evidently the person before me had walked out without washing up.I’m afraid I will not be returning to this restaurant until hygiene procedures are seriously looked at

As an ex-Chef of 12 yrs, I am sure that meals have not changed dradtically. The service was great, the meals were cooked correctly. Starters were Pate and Prawn Cocktail The pate was far too salty, the Prawn Cocktail had a few flat lettuce leaves, normally it should have a small hadful, with prawns around/in front of slightly over the lettuce. Prawn Cocktail is traditionally served with quarter slices of brown bread. Main Course were Steak Pie and Haddock We were not informed that NO vegetables would be served and not asked if we wanted them. mixed vegetables with steak pie and peas with the fish is standard fare. Garlic mayonnaise was served with the fish, I like garlic mayonnaise, but certainly not with fish. Dessert Cheesecake Brought in, so no problems. Covid People sitting at tables back to back, we're literally two to three feet apart. Three Staff walking around with face masks under their noses, total waste, they are breathing in Covid through their noses. An air conditioner was switched on, blowing cold air and with it, spreading Covid if it was present. For an Italian restaurant, there was no pasta on the set menu????

i really hate to do this but being a frequent restaurant diner i feel the need to write this review .. went in to restaurant nobody came to see us or speak to us at materdees area , 5 mins went by and someone came . sat us done took drinks order .. 10 mins we waited for them to come , thats fine . so we were told to look at menu on phone so we did picked our food and waited over 15 minutes to order while staff were standing in corner talking , had to ask someone to take order but they said they couldn’t as they had to get someone else to do it so waited another 5 minutes for that eventually the man came took order apologised for the wait . no explanation , so we ordered starters cane within 5 minutes . chicken gojouns we got a d they were really good , mains came 15 mins later which is totally fine , mains were absolutely delicious lasagna and steak pie . we decided we disnt want our desserts and they said we can take them away asked for bill girl said ok , 10 mins went past nothing , asked another waiter he said he was going to get it , another 10 minutes went past so my wife got up and asked they said its coming just processing it , so it came 5 mins after that . paid and obviously left no tip which i hate doing but i treat my dining experience on service first before the food i cam handle bad food if the service is good but if service is bad it ruins your experience regardless of how good the food is . i wont be giving this place another chance and i would never recommend to anyone . train your staff on customer service and politeness

Food is frozen not fresh staff are rude customer service not existent just a very dissatisfied experience

could not fault the food,fillet done to perfection.service a bit iffy,we were into our main before wine came although it was ordered when we chose our starter.(on last visit they served the wrong wine).When dining on a weekend and paying almost £100 I prefer not to be facing someone wearing a baseball cap for the duration of his stay and another with a hoodie and a pair of shorts.Would be ok in a chip shop.A large amount of the diners moved about without any face coverings.

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at this restaurant. We were treated at the door and shown to our table on arrival. The staff were so friendly. I had ordered a soda water and like without ice but it was at room temperature, I asked for another one but with ice in it. The waiter said they wouldn't charge for the first one even although I asked for no ice. The food was , well what can I say, gorgeous, tasty, etc etc. I don't have the words to describe it, suffice to say we all enjoyed what we had. As usual we ordered too much. The staff were so friendly and took time to exchange a few words with us. Everybody around us seemed to be having a lovely time too, the atmosphere was buzzing. There was a small piece of steak left on one of the plates and we asked for it to be put in a bag for the dog. We chatted a few minutes about the dog. The waitress brought the piece of steak back in a box which was then put in a bag. The bag had the dogs name on it with a paw print. We thought that was such a lovely thing to do. All in all we had a fantastic night. We also thought the cost was reasonable. We will definitely be back. Can't praise the staff, the decor and the food high enough. Well done for giving us a memorable evening.

Been here a few times now and love it every time, food is fab and the staff are great! Definitely recommend going here.

Cant criticise the food but what has happened to the service, phoned for a table and was told their was nothing my partner phoned 5mins later and we had a table, had to ask twice for a drink then the sweet menu followed by the bill then to top it all had to go to the bar for my change, not saying I wouldnt be back but find I off putting to return.

Come here regularly, set menu is amazing value for money. Always have steak and the steak is always cooked to perfection with amazing flavour! Service can sometimes be a bit slow however but manager is really friendly and great with customers! Great wee asset to shotts

Arrived at Benkaz at 10 past one to be turned away at the door after being told that they close at 2. I understand restaurants close but to not be offered a table 50 mins before closing is poor indeed. We will not be coming back although it had been recommended to us. We have went elsewhere and the service could not be better.

Family dinner of six adults and two children. Very busy little place food excellent staff friendly. What more can you ask for.

Servizio eccellente, rapido ed efficiente di ben 4 giovani cameriere. Ambientazione informale ma moderna, accoglienza amichevole. Atmosfera cordiale con commensali prevalentemente locali, abituali e buongustai, di ogni età. Lista dei piatti e delle pizze molto folta e tutta di stretta osservanza Italiana, sorprende poi la ampia offertakk di vini esclusivamente nostrani in rappresentanza di ogni regione. Antipasti di pesce gustosi, seppur ridotti in quantità, pizza anch’essa di gusto e fattura italiana.

The worst service I have ever had. Booked for my dad's 60th. Didn't have our reservation, asked us to wait on a table. Waited 45 mins then 11 of us were squeezed in the corner with no way for us to get in and out after we had sat down. Asked for a few jugs of water for the table when we sat down. The girl appeared 5 mins later with 1 jug of water and 3 glasses. A further 10 mins later we still hadn't even been given menus so we left. First time I have experienced anything like it. Will definitely not be back.

We have been to Benkaz a few times with friends and family for different occasions and there was never an issue. We haven't been for a while so decided to check out the new renovations. Well.....if this is what the renovations bring, then they should tear it down. Nothing to do with the food as that was excellent as always BUT the new staff they have is ridiculous. The "manager" was rude, smelt of smoke and was dressed completely inappropriately for a restaurant of this "standard." The other members of staff didn't have a clue what they were doing. Asked several times for our drinks which the girl didn't seem to have a clue what we were talking about when they were clearly sitting at the bar.

My Husband and I went to Benkaz on Friday 1st Sept for a meal, as we had not been since the renovation. We were very impressed, with it all. The food was delicious, prawn cocktail was amazing, the chicken in peppercorn sauce was terrific and the sticky toffee pudding was a treat. My Husband had the lasagne which he said was a real treat and an excellent portion size. Staff were very nice and couldn't be more helpful. Will certainly be going back soon

Up until recently we go to Benkaz at least once a month I recently visited with my family and was very disappointed with the food and the service.

visited on Friday night for anniversary dinner.... arrived & seated straight away in the lovely new extension .... bright airy and very stylish have seen previous reviews with reagrds to the music personally we found the volume to be absolutely fine.... drinks were brought by a nice young girl who made us feel very welcome.... ordered al a carte and i must say we have eaten italian all over even in italy..... not a patch on the food at benkaz ..... gamberoni and meatballs to start.... my husband had a fillet which was cooked to perfection i had the chicken milanse delicious.... the home made sweets and bellini topped the evening off..... all in all price food surroundings and staff are all top notch.... first visit and will not be the last keep up the good work ....

Usually love benkaz but unfortunately was in last week and found the recipe of my favorite pasta dish changed!! I also found the tables to be too squashed together. The waitress who took my food order was also smelling of stale cigarette smoke, very off putting!! Don't think I will be back.

Hace poco visitamos Benkaz para una relajante comida con nuestros amigos. La comida era genial, sin embargo, el nivel de música era insoportable. El personal del bar de la música de la discoteca "controlado" que estaba jugando alrededor del nivel del restaurante, y justo encima de nosotros mientras intentamos disfrutar de la comida. Nos pidió repetidamente que la música, porque nos pareció que era de los gritos que al otro lado de la mesa, que era horrible. Había leído las críticas antes de la reserva restaurante una mesa, y pensamos que la música no podría ser tan malo! ! Creo que es tan malo.

Visitamos el restaurante con amigos para una celebración familiar. Nos sentamos en una nueva extensión a la agradable restaurante, pero justo al lado de una pared de altavoces de música. Una comida agradable, estaba completamente arruinado por la floreciente música de discoteca. Que no podíamos ni hablar. 3 veces pedimos la música ser bajas y el volumen estaba sólo disminuyó ligeramente. Como estuvimos discutiendo si ordenar un desierto, la música era de repente regresar arriba y era insoportable. No hay café o en el desierto para nosotros y nos fuimos para casa. Mientras paga la factura de mi esposa y me quejé a la cajera, pero nadie estaba interesado. En el aparcamiento que pudiera sentir mi cabeza fuertes de la música. Buena suerte, que no se Benkaz volver

Visitamos el Ben Kas para una comida familiar y relajante. La comida y el servicio era excepcional, pero el ruido tipo disco música que jugó hizo nada pero relajante. No éramos los únicos clientes para quejarme y pedir a ser denegada. Preguntamos en tres ocasiones, pero nos dijeron que el volumen estaba puesto y no iba a ser alterado. Uno de nuestro grupo usa un audífono y me pareció muy incómodo. El recientemente añadido nuevo extensión es precioso, pero ¿por qué estropear la experiencia con esa música ruidosa. La mayoría de las personas restaurantes usan la oportunidad para charlar y relajarse, quizás con algunos música de fondo. Espero que la gerencia pueda resolver este problema y, como todo lo demás en el Ben Kas es increíble.

This Restaurant has to be up there with top city centre establishments and yet it is local, serves great food and has a great aura. i see it has an extension under construction just now which will allow clientele not to be disappointed at not getting a booking, so well done BENKAZ,

The meal was excellent great quality and very reasonable. The staff were brilliant my daughter is allergic to garlic and the head waitress checked the menu she ordered to make sure everything was okay. 10/10 for service.

The food was tasty. Garlic prawns for starter and seafood risotto for main dish, both excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly but the service was matron like and inflexible, perhaps because the restaurant was busy but nevertheless...

Llevé a mi hermano aquí para la cena, su primera vez y que no había sido por un tiempo. Ahora estamos preguntando por qué no he sido clientes habituales.

Me encanta la comida en este restaurante, en verdad no me puedo quejar. Sin embargo, el servicio de uno de los miembros del personal dejaba mucho que desear. En primer lugar nos acusó de estar a 20 minutos tarde para nuestra reserva cuando estábamos justo a tiempo, entonces ella apresurarla teniendo nuestros pedidos, más de una vez nosotros cortando cuando estábamos hablando o plantear una pregunta, Maleducados! Luego, cuando en realidad servir comida deliciosa ella olía a humo de cigarrillos, no muy agradable no voy a decir que no volveré, porque yo quiero, pero eso es totalmente por la calidad de la comida y no por el servicio!

Lovely decorated restaurant with friendly staff. 3 course set menu £15.95, good choices and portion sizes. A la Carte reasonably priced. Food of excellent quality and very tasty. Even brought dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday which was a lovely touch. Definitely recommend.

Visitamos Benkaz el viernes por la noche para una comida familiar. Reservamos con antelación asumiendo la calle viernes noche/día Patrick sería ocupado.

Fui allí por primera vez el sábado por la noche, estaba lleno y nos sentamos y para las 7 pm. Pedimos una botella de Prosecco, que la camarera trajo y dejó sobre la mesa sin abrirlos. Nos costó 10 minutos y no podía abrirlo y pedí otra camarera para abrir si tor nosotros - pidió disculpas y se lo llevaron y luego trajo abierto. Nuestros pedidos fueron tomadas con bastante rapidez, pero la comida tardó un largo tiempo fuera Esperamos un rato los aperitivos y luego esperamos un rato por la red. Tuvimos que pedir a mirar el menú del desierto y también trata de conseguir la atención del personal para pedir otra copa - la comida era estupenda, pero el servicio necesita un montón de trabajo - no creo que volveré hasta hay algunas buenas críticas cuando el servicio ha mejorado.

We were left waiting half an hour for desert and ended up just leaving without it. Very unorganised staff. The food however is lovely. Steaks are always cooked brilliantly and the saute potatoes are delicious.

Él era bastante gruñón, aunque estaba muy ocupado y el lugar estaba falto hechas a mi sobrina inapropiada insistencia que me cuestionó sobre los hombros de él pero sin tanto como una disculpa. . . No me temo que el comportamiento aceptable.

Hemos visitado este restaurante varias veces y había tiendas. Hace unas semanas, mi madre pidió un filete bien hecho y fue presentado con un trozo de carne que un buen vet podría haber traído de vuelta! Este fue el mismo envió y trozo de carne fue presentada en la placa trasera grapado como una cena de perros, en vez de una comida fresca. . .

Tuvimos que esperar 45 minutos para tomar una bebida. Ya para el servicio de camarera. El personal parecía pensar que limpiar las mesas vacías era más importante que servir a nosotros. Tuvimos que esperar incluso más tiempo para las comidas para ser servida, aunque entiendo que la comida tiene que estar preparado. El plato principal era lo suficientemente agradable, pero no garantiza el tiempo de preparación. Tuvimos que esperar incluso más tiempo para el postre. Nos estaban empezando a pensar que eran invisibles con personal de caballos arriba y abajo ignorando nosotros.

Siempre estupenda comida. Ambiente y servicio siempre me ha decepcionado en el pasado varias visitas. Personal necesitan prestar atención al ambiente y servicio de música, es decir, en tomar abrigo chaqueta/orden de bebidas, tome rápidamente y se reponga y sé menú en relación a requisitos dietéticos. Siempre tenemos que esperar y buscar miembro del personal para conseguir la factura.

Fue en unas semanas atrás Benkaz para cenar, este restaurante fue recomendado por amigos. Habíamos reservado una mesa, el restaurante de la llegada fue ocupado por un cumpleaños sin embargo nos llevaron a la zona donde había unas pocas mesas. El personal era amable y acogedor, la comida era buena, teníamos los aperitivos y platos principales un par de copas. La comida es de estilo tradicional italiano, buena comida familiar sana, lo recomendaría y volvería.

A menudo han comido aquí con mi familia y amigos y siempre nos pareció que la comida era de alta calidad y abundante. Ambiente relajado, agradable y amable, atento servicio.

He estado en este restaurante muchas veces contar y nunca puede encontrar defectos! Cualquier visita de familia siempre tiene que probar aquí y no se arrepentirá!! Pastas son simplemente fuera de este mundo, nunca había probado algo así en ningún otro sitio! Menús con un precio muy razonable.

First time visiting this restaurant and if was very nice indeed. The staff were friendly especially the head waitress who made sure we were comfortable by changing us to a bigger table, as there was only the two of us the table for two was ample but once our side dishes got brought the husband jokingly said we could do with a bigger one and she obliged. the minestrone soup was lovely, as well as the sirloin steak with all the trimmings. of course it being the set menu we went for we managed to squeeze in the desert which was mint aero cheesecake, mmmmmm!. Great menu to choose from, would be hard not to find anything you liked. The restaurant has a relaxing feel, and the toilets are very clean. All in all I would highly recommend and would return.

We go regularly to benkaz and the food & Service is great. The kids love it and happy kids equals happy adults. The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes very good.

I have eaten here on several occasions and never been disappointed, the staff are very pleasant and helpful, the food is delicious and fresh.

Best food anywhere in north lanarkshire.if steak is your thing them this is the Place to eat Beast charcoal fillet steak anywhere in central scotland. Service when busy sometimes can be a little slow but you will not be dissapointed with the food

First time visit and was not disappointed, chicken goujons for starter brilliant, had sirloin steak which was great. 3 course deal for £15 but plenty of the choice from full menu. Staff were friendly and service excellent. Will definitely be back there with family.

Cannot praise this little place enough. The menu was A la Carte and absolutely top notch. The staff are warm and friendly, and the surroundings are lovely. First rate service, A1 food. Will definately be back.

Un accidente feliz en Benkaz un sábado por la noche. Menú estándar italiano con todo, desde pizza hasta Pollo Rasputin. Servido por un personal excelente, era delicioso, buenas porciones de tamaño y a un precio razonable. Disfrutamos de nuestra comida; 3 campos cada uno más bebidas costaban alrededor de 50 libras. Altamente recomendado como el mejor lugar de la zona.

The food Is really good, would recommend the chicken gujions and steak if you are full you can get ur desert in a doggie back, it's a really good atmosphere but bit piricy for drinks and staff are really nice but a bit slow in serving this is a must try.

We used to go here when it was Ravellos and not disappointed. They offer a great set menu which is also available at set times during the weekend. Includes for example steak pie, sirloin steak, soup, haggis and do not miss the mint aero cheesecake.

Fuimos allí un sábado por la noche por primera vez me dijeron que era una buena cuando estaba revellos pero era muy decepcionado. Habíamos reservado una mesa, pero tuvimos que esperar y esperar media hora para que entonces esperamos otra media hora para ser servido el primer plato que era gambas en ajo y vino blanco, que se servía en un tazón de sopa con ensalada y era más como una ensalada sopa caliente; primera vez que he comido ensalada caliente! T. . él plato principal era una lasaña que era toda la pasta con una pequeña cantidad de Misa del Gallo, mi esposa tuvo el pollo y hongos risotto y el arroz estaba mal cocida. Pedí una botella de peronni y me dieron y nos cobraron por una pinta de algo más. La mesa de al lado para nosotros tuvimos que pedir seis veces por una porción de patatas fritas que habíamos pedido. En suma, si te lo cobran mejores precios, la comida y el servicio debería de estar en lo alto.

I've been going to Benkaz with my hubby and kids for many years the food just seems to get better and better never had a bad dish! X would highly recommend it prices are very reasonable too.

Was here on a Xmas ngt out, there was 14 of us....food was amazing as always....£14.99 for 3 course service was quick and the steak was delish!! The staff was really helpful and friendly!! Gd ngt had by all!!

Disappointed with Benkaz, although the staff were friendly and attentive the food was mediocre, I was looking forward to a pint of peroni after seeing the peroni font on the bar but was let down after seeing peroni being poured from bottles behind the bar and costing £5 a pint , the house wine was also disappointing being poured from 2 litre bottles. I also witnessed cream being poured onto a liquor coffee from a Coca Cola bottle . All in all a poor experience , will not rush back.

Me encanta Benkas. Fantástico servicio desde el momento en que entras en el hotel. Mejor reservar con antelación en los fines de semana que puede estar muy concurrido. La comida no toma demasiado tiempo para venir y su deliciosa. Especialmente los bistecs, sólo se funde en la boca. Mmmmm, y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Las bebidas pueden ser un poco caro cuando a la factura, pero supongo que es la norma en todos los restaurantes. No llevar comida, así que también es : fabuloso )

Comida rápida y orden cuidadas y entregados estaba caliente! Mesa liquidados profesionalmente y el próximo curso sirvió hábilmente. Buenos precios y excelente comida. Volverá a Benkaz en Shotts.

Viven localmente pero no había estado aquí durante años. Vimos algunas buenas críticas y decidí darle una oportunidad. Bien impresionado! El viernes por la noche y la opción £14,95 3 platos de comida disponible. La comida era realmente agradable, fresco y bien presentado. Hay mucho para elegir, sin ningún Recargo. El servicio fue muy amable y eficiente. Tuvimos una experiencia encantadora que fue una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda volveremos (recogido llevar menú también!)

Been going to Benkaz for a few years now and there has been a couple of changes in management. But this has never effected the food or service. Tonight however we went for a birthday dinner and I will say now I will not step for back in the place.

a spur of the moment decision to go for dinner with friends. Was not disappointed, good selection, good service with very nice food at a reasonable price.

Was visiting someone nearby and decided to stop here on way home. So glad we did! Had an excellent set menu for £14.95. Food was lovely and portions surprisingly large. The staff on duty were helpful too. Will certainly be back and would recommend.

Tuvimos una comida familiar aquí esta noche para celebrar mi graduación de nietos de guardería. El personal era muy atento, aunque nuestra visita, muy amable y servicial. La comida fue fantástica, y bien vale la pena el dinero. Todo el wee extra!s hizo una comida muy especial. Para rematar, mi nieto estaba en su mejor comportamiento ya que todo el personal de su vivero también estaban allí para una comida. jajaja he estado antes en ocasiones Serval y el nivel o comida o servicio nunca falla. Volveremos de nuevo. Gracias.

Visitamos en el último minuto salir a comer con mi pareja y padres. Mis padres se han visto antes y comentó sobre lo bueno que era. Aunque el entorno desde el exterior tal vez no es genial, esa opinión cambios una vez dentro. Está decorado con mucho gusto y es muy acogedor y cómodo. Nos llevaron a nuestros asientos por un hombre muy amable, que nos dijeron que es el propietario. Muy contentos de ver a alguien tan involucrados en el restaurante en frente de la casa y haciendo su poco hd por servir pedidos. Las otras mujeres que nos servía era igualmente agradable y amable. El servicio era rápido y nos trataron a toda una gama de especialidades a escoger. La comida era deliciosa y muy bien presentado. También nos quedamos muy impresionados con lo que una buena relación calidad-precio que resultó ser. sopa, salmón ahumado parcelas, Black pudding churro cosas y gambas cóctel para empezar, luego 2 12 oz solomillo bistecs, 10 oz fillet, y pechuga de pollo hecho con tocino y champiñones en salsa cremosa blanca para platos principales, horneados Alaska, menta aero cheesecake, Stick toffee pudding y helados para pudding. También tuvimos lados de pan de ajo, champiñones y aros de cebolla. Todos regados con 3 pintas de Peroni, y 2,5 pintas de soda y lima, £137,80 . Las raciones eran muy generoso, y no pudimos quejar de la comida. Siendo un poco quisquilloso, las gambas en el cóctel de gambas no estaban directamente de la nevera, o quizás lo llevaba antes de ser servido como eran casi warmish. Para un establecimiento fantástico que sirve buenos filetes, creemos que quizás patatas handcut sería una buena adición, en vez de congelados. También habría preferido el bistec de haber sido servido en un plato caliente. Dicho esto, hemos trabajado mucho para encontrar fallos y en general tuvimos una comida fantástica y agradable velada. Sin duda alguna volveremos otra vez!

Me encanta este lugar! La comida es de alto nivel. El gerente y el personal es muy amable y servicial. Nada es demasiado problema. La comida es increíble y hay un gran ambiente. Le daría a este lugar como un 5 estrellas. Me encanta ir a cenar con mi familia, amigos o mi novio. Recomiendo mucho este restaurante a todo el mundo.

have ate here several times and can honestly say the food and service are of a high standard only crititsism i would have is the menu doesnt change very often. Hgihly recommended

Tuvimos una comida fantástica en Benkaz como de costumbre, la comida era awsom y el servicio del personal siempre es excepcional. Sin duda lo recomendaría a cualquiera. La comida aquí es de primera calidad de restaurante donde otros lugares en esta zona sólo puede proporcionar comida de pub. Puedo decir sinceramente Benkaz es el mejor de la zona.

Esta es nuestra cuarta comedor de experiencia en Benkaz ... Es una confianza buena noche. Buena comida, buenos vinos y excelente servicio a un precio muy razonable.
