R Bar and Brasserie in Liverpool

Was really looking forward to our 3 course meal that we had paid for through Virgin Experience Days...... But it was SHUT . Just a number scribbled on an A board. So obviously can't comment on the service, the food, the ambience......

Had afternoon tea with two friends here using a Groupon deal. Was absolutely beautiful! The food was great and the selection of savouries and sweet treats were delicious, together with a glass of prosecco each. One of our party was vegetarian and she was given her own stand with lovely, unusual options for the sandwiches, which she was very pleased with. The service was excellent and tea was unlimited. The room is beautiful and we had a lovely few hours - excellent value for money and highly recommended!

Booked via group on definitely wasn't disappointed ! Food and service was great. Amazing value for money 3 course meal for 2 and a bottle of wine for £40. Lovely venue too.

Beautiful dining room and very helpful, friendly staff. Afternoon tea was beautifully presented but a bit disappointing - cheap, nasty ham on one sandwich...wouldn't cost much to buy some decent ham but the other sandwiches were lovely with plenty of filling. Prawns were big and juicy. Lots of cakes - scones were light and tasty with clotted cream and jam. Petit Fours all seemed bought in and had been previously frozen as the pastry was very soggy, they tasted nice but would have preferred home made. Mini carrot cake was divine and tasted home made but the others were just quite mushy and probably shop bought. Informed by waitress that there is a new chef and this does not appear to have been a change for good! Tea was weak...need 2 teabags in a 2 cup pot!!

Fui aquí el viernes para el té de la tarde con mi hija y mi madre. La decoración del hotel es fabulosa, impecable con estaciones de desinfectante de manos. El camarero y la camarera nos hicieron sentir realmente bienvenidos. ¡El té de la tarde estaba muy bien presentado y estaba delicioso! Realmente disfruté la envoltura de pollo de coronación. ¿Volveré y volvería? recomendar.

Brilliant and friendly service from Nuno who looked after us for our high tea birthday treat.Professional and courteous while having a smile on his face at all times.Nothing was too much trouble, even when we asked for a different selection of sandwiches (as we don't like salmon).Lovely place and will definitely go back again.

Booked as part of our Anniversary break away. After researching different venues around Liverpool we chose to try it here.The afternoon tea as delicious. The finger sandwiches were fresh and tasty, the scones were warm and the cakes were light and fluffy. The Prosecco was of course the icing on the cake to wash it all down.Our waiter, Nuno, was brilliant. He looked after us from the minute we walked through the door, nothing was too much trouble. He even arranged for us the get a couple of extra treats on a slate plate with 'Happy Anniversary' written in white chocolate.Although slightly away from the hustle and bustle of central Liverpool, it is definitely worth the walk or small Uber ride.

Visited last night and the food was magnificent, service excellent and good value for money. Can not recommend it more, it really is worth the visit. We had the creamy mushroom starter, out of this world, haddock, delicious and warm brownie, yummy.

We bought a groupon voucher, the food was served as quickly as expected, and was very good, overall a good evening was had by all, helped by the lovely staff.

Mi pareja y yo visitamos el sábado por la noche después de haber tenido un cupón de Virgin Experience Days para The Beatles Story y una comida de tres platos en el R Bar and Brasserie. Como era parte de un paquete, esperábamos un menú reducido de lo que está disponible en el sitio web, y este fue el caso.El primer plato que elegí, calamares, fue encantador, pero ahí es donde comenzó y terminó cualquier belleza. El tagliatelle que pedí para el plato principal era pésimo y no tenía sabor, ya que la salsa cremosa tenía menos sabor que una lata de emulsión blanca. Después de 2 bocados (el segundo esperaba mejorar el primero), no tuve más remedio que dejar la comida. Mi compañero pidió la hamburguesa que nuevamente no cumplió con las expectativas. Cuando los camareros vinieron a tomar nuestro pedido de postre, tuvimos que repetirlo dos veces ya que ella no estaba escuchando la primera vez que se había distraído con algo en las pantallas de televisión detrás de nosotros, seguido de un "perdón, ¿qué fue eso? ". Estaban muy manchados.Es una pena porque después de leer las críticas de otros visitantes pensamos que estábamos obteniendo una buena oferta como parte del paquete, pero siendo sincero, es la peor comida que hemos tenido (y la estoy volviendo a experimentar hoy como mi estómago) no se conformará!).Espero que esto sea único y que acabamos de visitarlo en un mal día, ya que seguramente ser parte de un paquete de cupones le daría la posibilidad de ganar para repetir la costumbre de seguir adelante, y este no es su estándar normal.

Mi esposa y yo estuvimos en Liverpool el fin de semana, como parte de nuestro viaje tuve un cupón para una comida de 3 platos en el Richmond. La comida fue excepcional, pedimos del menú, hay una muy buena selección de comidas, todas fueron preparadas y presentadas a la perfección, el personal es realmente amable y hace todo lo posible para asegurarse de que tiene un ambiente realmente especial. noche. Had a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine brought us as a gift and could not fault it the food was tasty plentiful and hot .. A really enjoyable evening .

Had a starter of tortilla chips followed by wild mushroom carbonara and a mocha coffee. It was all very tasty. Excellent.

I booked afternoon tea for my Dad's Birthday. The whole experience was perfect. The table was nicely decorated because I had said when I booked that it was for a Birthday. There was a good selection of sandwiches,warm scones and lots of tasty cakes. The fizz was great. The two ladies that served us were so nice. They went out of their way to make it a lovely treat for my Dad. My husband could not come so they went to a lot of trouble to sort out a doggie bag for him. I would recommend the afternoon tea here and will definitely go again.

Nos alojamos en el hotel y cuando nos registramos bastante tarde decidimos comer en el restaurante del hotel. El personal es muy amable y excelente comida y bebidas a precios razonables. Buen precio de dos o tres platos, pero no teníamos tanta hambre. Buen restaurante con una decoración interesante.También desayuné al día siguiente: excelente elección pero no había suficientes asientos ya que el hotel estaba obviamente lleno. El té de la tarde también se veía delicioso!

The choice of food is excellent with the set meal being very good value , The food is well cooked and presented. The staff are friendly and attentive .

As reviewed as part of hotel review, the breakfast was the worst I've ever had 1st day not cooked properly, next day food was cooked but at best was lukewarm at worst stone cold. Avoid avoid avoid

Food only average. Service very slow and poor at times. The 50% off all food Tastecard offering is maybe a good guide. If you plan on three courses be prepared for a long meal with long waits between courses.

Unfortunately there was a hen party when we were there so it was a bit noisy ! The staff apologised for this and were very attentive in trying to compensate for it. The food was good

We ate here twice and on both occasions the food was superb. It was nicely presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

Here to have a whistle stop tour of the city to celebrate the Lady Nadine's birthday we crammed in the Beatles Story, Ferry across the Mersey and the Museum of Liverpool and were booked in for dinner at the Richmond as part of an Experience day and how lucky were we!! Quite a funky looking restaurant with a great menu which was particularly good value if you were paying direct too! We started with Asparagus (me) and Salmon (the Lady!) which were egg-cellenty presented and very different! Then we had one duck and one steak and these were perfectly cooked with d-vine chips and a luscious Diane sauce - both of us were very happy and couldn't fault our dinner and devoured the lot very happily! dessert say a great selection of gelato and beautifully presented profiteroles - exceptionally presented and a fine bouquet! Washed down with a great french Malbec (after advice and tasting from the excellent Daniel who looked after us perfectly throughout - he was a very lucky find to help finish our day in Liverpool perfectly! Can't wait to go back and explore more of Liverpool and of the Richmonds menu - would highly recommend and thank you to Daniel and the team for rounding off our day so pleasantly!

We ate in the Brasserie as part of a one nights theater stay with our 2 children. The service was excellent - Todd in particular really fussed over us and made our experience memorable. He made sure we picked a red wine that we liked, and when I had an issue with my desert it was changed immediately. I have rated the atmosphere as 4 because it was quiet and another couple without children chose to sit right behind us and then complain, which made us feel on edge. Certainly not the fault of the staff but a strange thing for the other guests to do. I have rated the food '4' because the children's banana splits were just the banana and ice cream, whipped cream and promised toffee sauce forgotten I think. And really picky, I probably would have liked a bread roll with my starter. All said the meal was very good, I would recommend it and I have to say that the staff really REALLY make this hotel.

Excellent buffet breakfast, a fine selection of cereals, continental meats, fruits, fruit juices, as much coffee or tea as you want, never ending toast, a good selection of cooked breakfast goodies to choose from....if thats not enough you can order direct from the kitchen...

Had a lovely afternoon tea at the Richmond Hotel bar/brasserie this afternoon. The food and fizz was lovely, we did have to wait quite a while for service from some staff but they were getting busy with Christmas groups so totally understandable. We would especially like to thank Kelsey for the excellent, friendly service and also to another staff member whose name we didn’t catch (sorry!) but was very helpful and accommodating - thank you, from the ‘scone ladies!’

The service was a bit disjointed and slow and in total it took over 3 hours to eat! 20 minutes of which was the time between asking for the bill and actually getting the bill. And then another 15 minutes waiting for the card machine to arrive! That said, (whinging out the way), we had a very nice evening. All too often a meal can feel rushed. But the slack service was a bit of a bonus. The food was pretty good too. Simple tomato salad to start, not a lot can go wrong there. But nice selection of different tomato’s, very fresh and tasted good. And the main was well cooked chicken in a nice mushroom sauce with dauphinois and carrots. The dauphinois were a bit undercooked but tasted good enough. Bit disappointing with desert as the majority of the menu had sold out so it was ice cream or pretty much nothing! I’d go back if I was invited but if it was my own cash, I’d probably try somewhere else!
