Queens Head Inn in Bedford

Had lunch after walking with local rambling group. A little wait despite pre-ordering but not complaints about our meals.

I had fish an chips and have to say was very good, then apple crumble which would have been excellent apart from they don't mention it has sultanas in it which I hate 🤦‍♂️ that was a down fall but apart from that very good. 8/10 would have been 9/10 but for the sultanas.

We met friends here for a catch-up lunch on Tuesday, 26 Nov. This is an attractive, stone pub in the village of Milton Ernest which has rooms. There are new owners here and the pub has been smartened up since the last time we came for a meal. The bar & restaurant are really pleasant, the bar especially being cozy. Just not many customers. The lunch menu was relatively simple with pub standards and none the worst for that. The range of drinks seemed a bit limited for someone driving. Not much choice of non-alcoholic beer or gin. That could be improved upon. In a quiet restaurant, only one other couple were eating. Service was good and friendly though with only one person on, a bit slow at times and we were left to chat. It worked OK for us. Someone else came on later and the lady on reception helped as well. Us two guys had the curry, which was perfectly fine, if a bit bland. Some nice options were available for dessert. My crumble and custard was really nice and we all seemed pretty happy with our choices. All in all I'd give our visit 3.5 and round it up to 4-stars. It was a pleasant lunch with friends. Nothing spectacular but a standard pub lunch. It would be interesting to try the restaurant on a busy day to compare. If I was travelling on business, it would make a reasonable stop off point overnight.

There were 4 of us that had a excellent meal served by wonderful staff no rush and given plenty of time to look at menus well worth a visit all staff very polite and helpful would highly recommend going there

I use this pub as both a local person for meals but also as accommodation, breakfast and evening meals for a residential course I run a few times throughout the year. Kate and Richard are always helpful and adaptable to any last minute changes or food orders. We are always welcomed and our guests give positive feedback about the comfort of the rooms and how welcome they felt. good home cooked food in a beautiful building with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

We've been here a couple of times for a drink, but today we had Sunday lunch (pre-booked). Lovely lunch, and basically a nice pub for a drink as well. Staff were really friendly and we would highly recommend it.

Don't visit as regular as I would like but when we do it doesn't disappoint. Good food and menu at a sensible price point great attentive staff worth a visit considering other establishments in the area. From a Bletsoe resident. 👍👍 Not a review on the accommodation just the bar and restaurant.

Beautiful pub and now has new owners/landlord/lady. My liver and bacon was delicious so too was my Eton mess dessert. I had a few pints of Bonkers Conkers a beautiful ale which I could have drank all evening. Large TV, a great bar scene and in general a very cozy pub... Well worth a visit. Ample parking and a small garden area.

Did an overnight stay here while attending Santa Pod. The room was very clean and comfortable. Fee parking and easy to find.. Nice bar with a good selection of drinks, friendly staff at hand who provided good customer service. Breakfast was very nice indeed, will visit again soon.

Stayed here a few times came back this year for the Twinwoods festival the new owners we’re brilliant the hotel and rooms were were clean and comfortable good choice of food and drink have already booked for next year highly recommended

Parking no issue . Staff very polite two young ladies . Soon as drink empty staff attentive. The inn itself not well lit and atmosphere abit quite . No pool table has outside sitting and restaurant. I only went for a quick drink good cold larger on tap glasses and tables clean also toilets clean .

I stayed here for one night as it is very close to Bedford racing circuit. I was very happy with my stay. The staff were friendly, with a great atmosphere in the bar (quiz night), the food was great and the room was good. What more could you want. I would stay here again.

Went for lunch yesterday, not been for a while and was pleasantly impressed. Patio area was very pleasant, comfortable. Dogs allowed . Lovely lunch menu, very tasty. Prices reasonable, bar staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I had takeaway breakfasts with my work colleagues, today fantastic quality food and great value.

Went for darts and you get in a hole in the ground as there's not enough ceiling height nice beers nice service.

Myself and a friend had Sunday lunch today, excellent service and food. Good value.

Visited yesterday evening for a meal. Sat in the garden.We had to pay before we ate which I've never heard of before!! We were served a starter . Then waited n waited for mains my friend went to enquire. They had obviously forgotten about us. Finally food came cheese on top wasn't even melted. Girl who served us didn't offer more drinks n was very off hand. Have visited before and was happy with food n service. Won't be visiting again 😕

Welcoming staff. Decent beer. Pretty good accommodation too. Had a pint or two of Madri most enjoyable. Busy on quiz night when I stayed. Nice crowd.

A lovely pub, came here for a mates do, as I don't drink I got myself many lemonades orange juices. I stayed here for the night it was decent and breakfast is included, there is a vegetarian breakfast option.

The most incredible, homely, and friendly pub around!!! The landlord and landlady - Richard and Kate and the loveliest couple. Delicious food and even better drinks, cannot recommend this pub enough! The new garden is absolutely fabulous in the sun. Such a great addition to the village! 10/10

Food so delicious you won’t leave hungry. Got to stay three nights, enjoy breakfast lunch and dinner - all decent grub in a beautiful ambienced british pub. Sleep decent - lovely conference room also.

I recently visited and I was impressed by the ambience and friendliness of the staff. The pub has undergone some beautiful renovations both inside and out, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit!

Not dog friendly. Even though my dog is a service dog.

A cracking pub, friendly staff, a good variety of well kept ales (the Abbot is especially good) and very good food. The homemade pies are truly exceptional. Definitely worth a visit!!

Currently sitting under alot of scaffolding which means they don't look open. They are. Never been before but enjoyed the fish and chips meal I opted for. Nice decor and pleasant staff.

Lovely Sunday lunch, served by polite staff. Added by an afternoon of 'live' music. Well worth a visit, especially with the added entertainment.

Well, to be fair, I was on nights along with 5 of my colleagues, so our company spent over £2k for a weeks stay! For that money, I'd expect them to take that we are on nights into consideration! Instead, they have a couple of dogs, which they let out at between 9.30 am and 10 am every morning without fail, into the yard right outside the rooms, then, they bark like mad until they are let back in. Plus, they get let out if they need to do their business! And of course, bark to get back in. Waking every one of us up on nights!! Then , on Thursday, they had building work going on inside at 8.30 am, which also woke us all up along with the dogs. Then Friday scaffolding went up, along with the dogs, you get the picture. This is a nice hotel and would be great if we wernt on nights. The woman on reception was great. However, I found the man very rude, arrogant and obnoxious with a so what attitude. "We don't guarantee peace and quiet at our hotel! We never have" talks to his staff like crap i noticed, with no smile or manners. He's one of those where everything is a chore, and he's always right, kinda guys!! So, 3 stars for him and his lack of companion towards guest's needs, and treatment of staff.

A fantastic little retreat for us and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely superking size bed always helps with room cosy and warm with nothing lacking. A beautiful property with ample parking, cute bar area with a warming log fire burning adding ambience. Breakfast was A1 as were all the hosts and the restaurant food was seriously enjoyable. Recommend.

Food and service was lovely. Breakfast was amazing. Very hospitable, relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back to use the pub, dining and b and b again.

What a great place, staff very friendly and couldn’t do enough, went with a group of friends we meet up once a month a was my turn to choose the venue. We ate we drank and were very lucky to be entertained as they had live music on was brilliant. We will be back thanks again….
