The Balloon in Bedford

Was visiting Bedford and found this pub to watch the England match. It was a very friendly atmosphere, great bbq food. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Would definitely recommend

Came here yesterday for the first time to watch the England game. They had set out the garden with a few gazebos a sofa and a lovely BBQ. I will definitely be back for some more chicken! Great local pub in bedford! #balloonsjerksauce

Nice cosy pub with a lovely warm vibe. In the winter there is a lovely fire and fresh and crisp Guinness and a great selection of premium beers to choose from. Sporting events are always treated with great panache. Friendly and welcoming staff that work within the pub.

Great landlord great pub brilliant atmosphere

Well, I’d love to tell you what the balloon is like these days, but the opening times are wrong hence when we walked there last night after the Bedford Park concert it was as dead as flares at 11 o’clock. Fortunately did find another place open and spent a very pleasant hour awaiting a taxi there instead.

This certainly has more of a ‘locals / regulars’ vibe and the decor could do with updating, but don’t let that put you off as it’s a friendly pub and nice enough for a drink. The open fire is great during the colder months and for catching up with the sport it’s a brilliant option. The bar staff were friendly and quick with the service, there’s a good range of drinks and the prices reasonable enough for the setting. It’s not really in a location you’d stumble upon, but I’d return if I was passing again in the future.

This place was okay, went in for a pint of strongbow dark fruits with a couple mates, service was satisfactory, can’t complain about the strongbow, we went to play a game on the pool table however it was damaged to the point that it wasn’t worth paying for a game, sat outside to catch up with my mates and left after 10 minutes

Great for a side street pub used to go there years ago called in for a quick drink with my son good pool table and friendly staff and they sell alcohol free beer

A proper boozer ! Obviously anyone in Bedford knows where this is but for out of towners make an effort to find it you won't be disappointed!! Oh and fab prices 😍
