Queens Head Frodsham in Cheshire West and Chester

We called on our way back from Anglesey so we're just looking for somewhere quick for a late lunch. They had a great choice of beers & the 2 for £20 deal was great & just what we needed. Great service particularly from the young lady behind the bar (sorry I didn't get her name) & also from Adam who was very helpful. A shame we haven't got a pub like this in our village!

Great food and service by Ryan Sat evening. Although the noise from the main bar was quite loud (football) everything else was great. Thanks!

I went to a Baby Shower here and it was lovely

Ordered rib of beef with cheddar mash and spring cabbage, it came with red cabbage *which I don't like and the mash had no cheese at all. I did complain but was told they had run out. I would have ordered something else if I had known but wasnt informed. Very disappointing, I went home hungry without any offer to rectify my meal. Menu sound really impressive but sadly tge food didn't live up to it. Wine was lovely and had a great time, won't be back for food however.

Excellent food! The best yet on our A-Z tour of restaurants. Hake and Scallop Tagliatelle, devine. Service was fantastic. The place it's self needs a well earned spruce up, looking very tired.

Worse breakfast I've ever had, I was camping so hungry and ate it, but the sausages definately weren't Cumberland and the beans were cold, bacon may aswel not been on the plate. Staff were nice

This place has a good beer selection. The food is well cooked and represents good value for money. Unfortunately, 3 lads using bad language very loud should of been asked by the staff to lower their voices.

Super friendly, obliging staff and great service. Really good selection of beers and nice food. Also a great place for a coffee if you're there early in the day. Plenty of space and seating and a nice, friendly, laid back atmosphere.

Turned up today for a Sunday roast, on previous visits had come good meals, not today. On a table for two them managed to complete forget one main meal. The suggestion. One person eat now and the other eat in 15 to 20 minutes time. No option to remake both meals so could eat together as they refused this. Then when second meal was delivered, it honestly looked like it was made up of scraps from other people's meals they had not finished. How any self respecting chef could let it leave the kitchen I don't know. The poor waitress look embarrassed to serve it. In formed the staff we was leaving and promptly left.

3 of us went there for lunch all had the 2 courses for £9 and all of us enjoyed what we had it was well cooked, and we didn't have to wait to long for it. They also have a good selection of beers and gins Staff are polite and friendly as was everybody else in there and they are a dog friendly pub. All in all a very nice place i will be visiting again

Enjoyed the pub. We were going to buy a second drink but were told the table we were sitting on had been reserved from 6.45 and the party were arriving so we needed to move on. It was 5.15!!

The Queens Head managed to accommodate us for a last minute booking. The place was very inviting, down to earth and had a relaxed feel. The service was quick and our servers (Amy & Ryan) were excellent - going above and beyond when they saw we needed to be sat somewhere different. The food was tasty, decent portions and having the unlimited yorkies, roasties and gravy was great. Definitely not something I have seen done elsewhere.

Decent pub, had the beef short rib, it was very fatty, not the greatest but the mash was lovely.

The Queens Head does an amazing Sunday Roast... If you're going to indulge have the mixed roast and get a bit of everything on offer... It comes with endless Yorkshire puddings and gravy, you just have to ask the server for more. It's delicious and just what you want after a long walk. Service is excellent as well.

Every time I visit this lovely pub you are always given a warm friendly welcome by all staff. One in particular is Kris who always asks how I am and how my day has gone. Credit to the team Looking forward to visiting again soon for more Asahi 🍺🍺 Graeme xx

Used to be a really decent pub seems to have gone down hill lately in terms of service. Also didn't rate the entertainment much the evening we went in.

Tonight I visited with my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Simba and Loki. I was served by Emma for the evening. I was very surprised by how speedy service was - noticeably faster than your average place, especially for a very bustling Saturday night! I was completely put at ease as someone visiting alone, Emma was super approachable and helpful. There was even a doggy menu - I was delighted! We were sat near the bathrooms but this meant the dogs got all the attention and people were so kind. I ordered the steak, medium rare, and it was cooked exactly as I wished. Everything was delicious and I was very happy to leave a tip. If only we lived more locally!

First visit here recently. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good and priced well (average) by todays standards. A few good vegan options. Service from Chloe and Kris was fantastic. Very enjoyable evening out.

If I could give 0 stars I would. 20 quid+ for a single sliver of light grey beef with bought in rock hard roast potatoes and a headless pint. Poor girl behind bar was serving drinks and waiting tables on her own. When manager came back I went to pay. He asked if everything was OK. I was kind and said no and that both portions of beef combined were enough for one person with a tiny appetite. He nervously uttered a few vowel sounds and asked me to enter my pin. Absolutely useless. Feel robbed out of 55 quid. If I was management I'd be having words. If Liverpool hadn't won yesterday I probably wouldn't have entered my pin when prompted

Large pub. Do food and show sports. Food was reasonably priced and was ok. Nothing amazing but wasn't bad either and I enjoyed it. Good range of drinks and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Decent atmosphere in the pub, especially for midweek. I'd definitely go back.

Another good visit for lunch with friends , had a few visits during 2023 which have been good. Will probably have few more during 2024.

Lovely pub. The bar staff are so friendly, even at the end of the evening. That makes all the difference to me. The food was lovely and a reasonable price. Also a good selection of beers and wines. Definitely recommend.

Came in for a 3 course anniversary meal. The pub had a very welcoming atmosphere. We were sat in front of a lovely real log fire in the “snug”. The food was exceptional. It came out promptly and piping hot. Very tasty. My wife particularly enjoyed the lamb shank with buttery chive mash. So much so she didn’t even share with me!! Definitely one for me to try in the future. Service from Toby and Kristina was exemplary. Nothing was too much of a chore for them. The drinks arrived swiftly in clean branded glasses and were very tasty. They obviously take good care of their beer and cider lines. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

We came in to celebrate a birthday and we were seated in the snug which was lovely, food was amazing as always, we were all made to feel so welcome. The atmosphere and staff were all amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Kristina, Toby, Archie and Ryan all made our night amazing!

Ordered drinks and the waiter said they wasn't available (the delivery didn't come through), so I ordered different drinks, waited 20 minutes and the waiter come back saying we could not have these drinks as the bar tender is new and does not know how to make them. Ordered starters Ordered the main courses. They didn't have our first choices available on an already limited menu. Our mains were then delivered to our table after a while. Our starters were missing. I asked where they were and he told me he forgot to put them through. The triple roast was inedible and had to go back. I asked to speak with someone and he skipped past my comment. My meal come with hardly any chips and the burger was dry. I would not recommend this place

Wonderful tasty Christmas Dinner on Christmas day. Really enjoyed it. Glass of prosseco on arrival and the rest followed. Would definitely book again for a big occasion. Thank you to all the staff

First and last time at the Queens Head for food. Great atmosphere, awful food. Manager dealt with complaint very professionally. There was a football match on before we arrived which accounted for all the glasses covering every surface. Some food was not available. Lamb shank and gammon. One of our party asked for coffee to be told they had turned off the coffee machine. This was ten to eight !! Nice pub shame about the food..

Very busy and seated in a very small area for a large table but believe there was a wedding. It was heaving but we were dealt with well by lovely server Archie. Lamb shank was amazing, gorgeous! Starters and puddings were average, puddings were also quite cold when we were expecting them heated. Generally a nice location, nice food and nice vibe. Just extremely busy and squished when we went, and could do with a little bit of improvement on the temperature and quality of some of the starters and puddings to get top stars!

A classic gastro pub with a great menu choice. Had the burger and it was pretty tip top! It was a tincy little more expensive than you'd expect but the staff, decor and atmosphere was very inviting!

Fantastic chips! I didn't know what my fiance (who is from Frodsham) was going on about when she was constantly raving on about 'chips in the North'. This was until we travelled up from Hampshire. Wow. I now know exactly what she means - they are delicious and much better than anything we produce in the south.
