Queens Head in Mid Suffolk

I was there early in the evening and was made very welcome by the excellent team. They are very customer-focused, friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend the Queen's Head and i hope to return, when i have the opportunity.

First time to meet my friends family it was a great night I felt part of the family after 15 minutes

Staff were absolutely fantastic, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious which resulted in empty plates all around.

Our first time at the Queens Head. Had a lovely meal with fantastic service. The chips especially were amazing and my tacos were great. The only downside was a bunch of drunk middle aged men at the next table who were loud and foul mouthed but of course thats not the pubs fault and we will definitely go back! Might try a cocktail next time…..

We went for the burgers and they were absolutely stunning, staff are incredible and very inviting. The choice of food looks amazing and we will definitely be back again in the near future.

Comfort food at its best. Lovely modern interior and atmosphere, staff are friendly and fun. A good range of very well made cocktails. Between us we had a variety of soft shell tacos, burgers, mac n cheese and onion rings, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and we are looking forward to going back. Great value for money.

Been a local pub for years, but since it has been changed to a cocktail bar it is so much nicer! I can actually go there and have a socialised drink without having to deal with the partying side which is so nice for a small town like Stowmarket. Face you've done an amazing job!

Had a nice dinner on a Saturday night with great deals on cocktails. Food was fresh and well cooked, full of flavour as well. It was a busy night and fairly hectic (people coming and going) however I believe staff handled it very well.

This pub is fantastic. The decor is great and the food is always really good. The menu changes fairly regularly so definitely worth checking out occasionally. The staff are always attentive and helpful with recommendations.

Excellent restaurant! Good food, kind staff, beautiful atmosphere...today was my first-time here. I'm from Manhattan and I can honestly say this restaurant matches great restaurants in New York any day. Cheers!

7 of us sat down for food last night, the service was so good without being intrusive. Very patient staff with very indecisive women. The food was so delicious, even the chips were amazing. Lovely decor and just a really nice ambience. We will definitely be making it a regular thing.

What a surprise! An absolute oasis on a dreary day, gorgeous decor and I loved the attention to detail and the fairy lights. Cocktails and food were divine and staff so lovely. Thank you. That deep fried ice-cream was so good and my hamburger was top notch!

Much modernised pub since my day. Good to see. Service was good. Nice to sit out in the sun with a view of the church.

Great decor. Good food and drinks and Friendly staff. Food was typical pub food but done well and tasty. Fast service. Only downside was personally thought it slightly pricey at around 17.50 for burger, fries and an included ‘accompaniment’. However, i’d recommend a visit and we’ll be going again. I’d give 9/10 if I could. Good choice of Cocktails and 2 for £12 too.

A nice place, but we were rudely told to move away from the bar even though we weren’t actually at the bar. Berated by two staff members for questioning the issue politely and accused of having an attitude despite this. Shame but I might give this place a miss next time. EDIT: looking at how you’ve responded to others who have had problems, your response to my customer review is as expected. Blame the customer and invent a new narrative. Nobody in our group was rude or raised their voice. This is categorically untrue. What I suspect happened was you just didn’t want a group like us in your pub not ordering food after a long day. Shame as you otherwise have a pretty decent pub there in Stowmarket.

Great service and good atmosphere.

Had 1 pint. Chat with the freindly staff. Would've loved to stay longer but needed to get to The John Peel centre. Next train trip from Ipswich for another pub crawl-and The Queens Head will definitely be on the list.

We had originally booked a table at another restaurant nearby but because of the awful service we left. We were out with my son to celebrate his birthday earlier in week. He lives locally and suggested we try this pub as he had heard good things about. He was absolutely right. We were welcomed in, told a little about the food and told to order at bar. They didn’t serve sunday lunch but they did serve the most awesome burgers. Food was fresh, well cooked, well presented and lots of it. Really impressed with the obviously homemade burgers. Will definitely return here.

The vegetarian seitan here is fantastic! They put lots of care and attention into their dishes and have a passion for vegan and vegetarian options. I like the way they are not included onto the menu to ‘tick the box’. They are outstanding in their own right. Whilst the Queens is a bit more expensive than usual Stowmarket places it is worth it as it is more sophisticated, upmarket and similar to a wine bar. Cocktails are great but always ask them to make them fresh!

Excellent pub, we ate here as a family of 6, 5 adults and a 5 year old. Really welcoming interior, friendly staff and the food was fantastic, my daughter even found a keto friendly main. We will definitely be returning!

The Queens Head has worked hard at improving its image from a drinking pub, to a much more adult space, and I think it's done a reasonable job. The space has been decorated and furnished in line with modern trends and is definitely an inviting space. There is an extensive outdoor area, however, we sat inside. Food is good value, with enough choice to keep most people happy.

The food here is absolutely excellent. They have a relatively limited menu (burgers, wings, several Mexican dishes), but everything was delicious and clearly carefully prepared. The Buffalo Wings were some of the best I have ever had. The staff were attentive and friendly, even on a Saturday night when the place was busy. The decor is beautiful and original, and the atmosphere was friendly and conversational. This would be a great place to take someone for a date or to to meet up with some friends for a drink. Highly recommended.

As soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome. We had an amazing meal, my husband asked if the chef could mix the meat for the dish he chose and this wasn’t any bother. The waiting staff were all very polite and attentive without being too much! Great cocktails too. We will definitely be back!

I don't really know too much about Stowmarket, butt this seems like a stand out place. The decor and atmosphere is great as are the staff. They serve a great selection of cocktails. We went on a Saturday night and luckily we were early enough to get a table. Highly recommended. Be sure to book in advance.

Love this place.. Great food and atmosphere. My only complaint is like most restaurants, if you order a burger it comes in a brioche bun. Please at least give me a choice..note the French never put burgers in brioche.

Visited here with my friend on a Thursday evening and had some food and drink. The tacos were amazing and I loved the fact you could mix and match 3-6 different flavours as opposed to sticking to one. What let it down, was the service....

Really nice place to eat and drink, the staff were very helpful and polite. The only thing that I could pick a fault with was the camembert sharer says it comes with breads but was just a few slices of toast, would of been nice to have a selection of different breads. But other than that a very place to go.

We had a Christmas meal, a group of friends. We preordered so they knew what we were having but we waited ages for the food. The meals did not arrive together so we were not all eating together. The quality of some dishes was poor....

We were going to Bury to eat but thanks to the rail strike looked for somewhere local in Stowmarket and we were glad we did. The Queens Head looks so lovely inside and we couldn’t have been made more welcome than we were by Luke who gave us the best service we have had pretty much anywhere. We were so pleased to end up here and hoped the food would match the surroundings and the service and we were so pleased that it did. The vegan choices were among the best we have seen anywhere and the buffalo wings were amazing! We will definitely be back thanks Queens Head and thanks Luke!

Great Public house, great service and quirky menu so different but lovely. A must try are their amazing cocktails and there alcoholic milk shakes. So make a effort to vist the Queens Hrad.

Place for drinks was ok. But the lack of competence and training from the staff is shocking when it comes to advise on intoxication. customer not to drink water when being sick and so on an so forth! When being sick you are loosing fluids! And to gain back what you are loosing you need to drink to keep hydrated! Staff member advised to not drink anything!! Being in the health and care sector for many of years it’s a given.. this place need more staff training and what to do when they have I’ll and intoxicated customers! And rather than pushing away train professionals, encourage them to their jobs when they are off duty!.. A customer come I’ll or intoxicated and when trying my best to help and rehydrate I was told to leave them alone.. so doing so I went home worrying about what happened… Customer satisfaction is 0.. Please when someone is helping and known what they are talking about.. let them help… especially when they’ve been in the field for so long!

New owners have made this pub worth visiting. The food is wonderful, the setting and decor is very nice. It has a really good feel to the place, very charming and relaxing. Its definitely the best pub to visit in stowmarket by a long shot. There really isn't any point in going anywhere else. There's not many pubs that are tolerable for a non drinker like myself, but the queen's head is great. Highly recommended.

We had a nice lunch in sunshine yesterday. My son enjoyed the wooden games. The food was good, if a bit expensive. Menu descriptions didn't quite match what I got. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

I love the quality and consistency of the food. For “pub grub” it’s never greasy or spoons style mass produced feel. Service is normally really good. Place is always clean and tidy and have a great selection of drinks.

Went for brunch. The food was really nice, so were the staff.

I only had a quick drink before heading home so I didn't sample any food or notice much hence 3 stars.
