This pub was reopened in December 2024 and is a Grade II building. The new owners have kept the brilliant Victorian decor but are serving Japanese style food with a mixture of small plates/tapas and larger/mains plates. We tried the spicy squid, tempura prawns and Katsu chicken and rice, excellent and something different. If you have never tried Japanese food you will be very surprised, its delicious. The pub is located at the top of a small hill near the railway line, plenty of parking outside. Its amazing to see a real old pub with a modern twist. Fantastic decor, 3 different bar areas and a really nice outside seating area that gets the afternoon sunshine. Personally I love the history of this pub and I like what the new owners have set up. Good selection of beers, Black Sheep tasted really good but I'm sure the new owners will look to bring in new beers etc.

The Oddfellows Arms is reasonable welcoming Bar...compared to the 5 others in Eccles Centre. Now I prefer entertaing at home...sometimes in Bars the loud voices when drinkers have had a few..can be annoying. JOHN PARKINSON (71) former journalist on Radio.
