Qavali Indo-Persian Restaurant & Cocktail Bar in Birmingham

Food wasn't as expected, think Varansi is better taste wise. One of the curry's just didn't taste nice at all and the other was okay. My husband thought the same aswell. However, atmosphere and decor is really nice. Great service but don't think I'd go back again. Feel like it's overhyped, much better places out there that are cheaper as well in my opinion !

During our weekend in Birmingham, we dined at the stylish Indo-Persian restaurant Qavali in Brindley Place. The whole experience felt more like a show than a typical meal, with belly dancers weaving between tables. I started with the Sultani Chaat - cumin-spiced Kabuli chickpeas, wheat crisps and lentil dumplings, topped with dates, tamarind chutney, mint and rose-scented yoghurt, and pomegranate kadayif. For the main, I chose the Indo-Persian Koobideh - a beautifully aromatic dish of lamb mince marinated with onion, nutmeg, peppercorn and rose petals, then infused with saffron, floral notes and fresh lime. A real standout!

Expensive, extremely small portion size for the price being charged and absolutely limited Persian food choice.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day we went to Qavali restaurant the food was so amazing with excellent service So we ordered the grilled items more and also curry’s

Everything was good except the food . meat was very hard to be chewed and was not at all fresh . we ordered biryani and it was full of oil in it . i will refer this resturant to those who wants fancy photos for there instagram but not for the food ......

I visited over Easter with my sister and absolutely loved it! The seating was really comfy, creating a relaxing atmosphere from the moment we arrived. A big shout-out to our waiter, Bhunkmi, who was incredibly warm and welcoming throughout. He even surprised us with some complimentary Turkish delight at the end 🍬 – such a lovely touch. Overall, a fantastic experience – such a friendly and inviting place. I’ll definitely be coming back! 😊

Delicious food. Everything was exceptionally tasty. Rajesh took care of all our needs and suggested us really nice options as well.

Great restaurant! The food always tastes amazing and the portions are huge. The place looks excellent and the service is so nice and professional. Also, this time around, our waitress, Ana was so incredible, it made the experience even better! She knew the menu so well and was extremely helpful when deciding between different drinks and food options. She was also very attentive and friendly, really enjoyed our time here!

An amazing afternoon tea in beautiful, elegant surroundings. The decor and cleanliness of the restaurant could not be faulted, ethnic and beautiful. Even the bathrooms were aesthetically pleasing and very clean. We were served by a young man, Viraj. He was very attentive, respectful and polite, no request was too much trouble for him. He remembered that one of our party had a birthday and bought out a piece of baklava with a lit candle and a birthday drink. A most enjoyable afternoon, we will be returning. Thank you, Qavali, for a lovely afternoon.

5 stars Absolutely incredible experience at Qavali in Birmingham! Hands down one of the best Indian meals I’ve had in the UK. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully presented. What made the visit even better was the outstanding service—especially from Viraj, who went above and beyond to explain each dish in detail and make great recommendations. He made us feel genuinely welcome and added a personal touch to the whole experience. Highly recommend Qavali for anyone looking for top-tier Indian cuisine and impeccable service!

Extremely high prices, £5 for a single nan bread and you need minimum 2? £25 for a very small portion of butter chicken and on top of extremely high prices you add £15 service charge, very very overrated.

Excellent evening spent at Qavali in Broad Street Birmingham. Atmosphere and vibe just right, service was on point not intrusive and nothing was too much trouble our waitress Ana knew the menu well and made helpful suggestions - well done Ana and well done Qavali - keep it up! We had the meat Grand Platter to share for 4 just gorgeous- Sea Bass, Butter Chicken, Lamb minced and Chicken Korai. ❤️

Came here for an early evening meal mid week. Both the interior and exterior of the place is nice and adds to the atmosphere. We were welcomed at the front desk and shown to a booth. I had the Persian lamb shank with a naan. The food and drink service was efficient and staff were helpful and pleasant. The portion size of the lamb was generous with plenty of meat. Would definitely recommend ordering a sidedish to accompany the lamb. Felt it needed some additional ingredients like mushrooms/onions/peppers etc as it was just lamb and sauce, which was nice but got samie by the end, and a bit on the pricey side.

A lovely find whilst walking to Brindley Place. The butter chicken and cheese naan was cooked to perfection. Warm welcome upon entry, followed by fantastic table service when dining. Would totally recommend. Decor is lush, tranquil and very clean. A great choice of mocktail drinks too. JazakAllah kheiran Viraj and staff for looking after my son and I.

I recently had a wonderful evening at Qavali Restaurant for my cousins birthday meal and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and warm. Our experience was made even better by the outstanding service from our waiters, Atul and Viraj. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect; even providing a complimentary drink and baklava for the birthday girl. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of flavours that were spot on. Overall, we left feeling very satisfied and happy, and we can't wait to return for another amazing meal!

Came here today biryani tasted like cardboard food served with no cutlery no tissues. Service Sure, sure pwas non existence no drinks been given every time a waiter came over the food never arrived. Drinks and chutneys turned up 10 mins after we needed them. Wouldn’t dine here again their giving quality prices for takeaway services do not recommend

The atmosphere and ambiance was excellent. The service was good although our waitress seemed rather stressed and did not seem friendly and did not smile. The quality of the food was not great. The lamb was dry and tough. The dishes were okay but not outstanding or flavoursome. The high prices did not match the quality of the food. The food portions were small too. Credit where it’s due the decoration of the restaurant was amazing. This was our experience.

Had a lovely time at Qavali where I enjoyed one of their signature kebabs with a plate of light fluffy rice. The ambiance of the place was amazing and the staff were very welcoming.

Terrible experience today on Eid day. We were given over cooked chicken in several dishes. The waiter told us that we were wrong for complaining about the chicken because it was chicken breast. The waiter was argumentative and rude with zero customer service skills and requires intensive training! Avoid this place, value for money is bad, quality of food is bad and customer service is bad!

Absolutely amazing atmosphere and ambience. Staff is so kind and friendly. Very quick service. Loved everything apart from food. Being a Pakistani brummie, not used to this type of food. Not used to a sweet Peshaweri naan. Not used to Indian taste of food. But that's us and definitely would recommend one visit so people can explore their taste. Lots of paid parking available nearby.

For a Saturday night, it was quiet. The food was good, and the service was average, but still got a £50 service charge which should have been argued. But it was food.

Viraj served us and he was very pleasant and nice, all staff are welcoming, Viraj went the extra mile though however ensuring our comfort and happiness while eating at Qavali. Food was amazing menu is out of this world and very cultural, plenty different variety from all over when it came to drinks so come on over and enjoy this lovely food place.
