Superb night out, with many friendly locals. I'd highly recommend. Jeff and Sue do a fantastic job, running the bar. Jeff has a wealth of experience of real ales. This place is rightly placed in The Camra "Good Beer Guide."

I'm a local and have visiting here since it opened. It's definitely one of the best things to ever happen to the area. Sue and Jeff (the owners are both wonderful and welcome everyone). I knew no one when we first went here but probably know most of the pub regulars now and have made many good friends. Everytime I go , I nearly always find someone new to engage with, it's full of so many interesting characters. Give it a go and get chatting

One of Solihull's hidden gems. I'm a fan of craft beer and real ale and found this place in the CAMRA guide. I must say the place has a very friendly atmosphere, no loud music ,fruit machines just adults having friendly conversation. Jeff and Sue the staff there on my visit were very friendly and Jeff certainly has a vast knowledge of the ale he serves.

Since we have had more 'freedom', I have to say that my visit to the Pup has been one of my top two beer experiences. Shame I was only in for an hour, but the quality of the beers was, as ever, superb. It was also good to see Jeff and Sue, and to catch up with some 'old faces'.

We were delighted to see that this local micro pub now has an excellent terrace area at the front of the building as well as its original garden area at the rear. Most of the tables on the front terrace were reserved but we were fortunate to find the last free table. Since we last visited we are pleased to see that the range of wines has been improved and the beer of course is as good as ever. There was cheerful and efficient table service, a good atmosphere and we really enjoyed our drinks in the early evening sunshine.

This is my local. No flashy lights, football in the background nor Jukebox. It's about engaging with real people enjoying a proper pint. It does all of that. Jeff and Sue do a wonderful job making everybody feel welcome, I feel lucky that I've only a short walk to get here.

I first visited here just after it opened 3 years ago & although I liked it then, for me, it didn't stand out from the crowd. Went back last night & wow, has it changed. Seemed like a different place! I love the extention into the rear garden and the new toilets.. 3 separate rooms now all of which were newly & nicely decorated. So much space for a little pub. The place last night (a friday) was full, with just about every table occupied, it it made for.lovely, homely, chatty atmosphere. In these days of craft bars, its fairly unusual for a pub to sell only cask beers (and ciders) & the selection was good & varied. I much prefer dark ales & they had one or two of those on, so I was sorted. Prices were very reasonable.... Maybe they could think about putting a few keg beers on as well in the future to add extra choice? Well worth the taxi ride there and back from the other side of solihull. So pleased that they've made a success of this & I think it's here to stay!

Great 'old school' venue, simply great beer and good conversation. The 'pub' has been redecorated recently and has different seating areas throughout. There is a small beer garden area at the back for smokers or simply to enjoy on a sunny day. They have an excellent selection of quality beers.

You will not find a better pint!! The selection of ales and stouts are fantastic, change regularly and always have something new to try. Saw a comment about the pub being for "local people" . . . Can't say I agree with that, as everyone we have spoken to are friendly and up for a laugh. Great for the local area, keep on doing what you do!!!

Excellent micropub only opened around 18 months ago. In that time it has won many fans (including me). Never had a bad pint (probably because Jeff checks them all himself) and deservedly won the Solihull CAMRA pub of the year for 2017. It's worth checking on Facebook what beers are on at any time, but be warned they can go quickly. One evening a beer I was drinking went in just over 1 hour. No food is available (apart from scratchings and a few snacks) but you can bring in your takeaways from local shops.

A brand new venture where centre stage are the really good and unusual, locally sourced beers. There are ciders too and of a traditional style. I tried a very good cider and a spectacularly hoppy beer. There are many on offer to suit many tastes. No lager but it's a real ale place. Apparently you can bring your own food either from home or the local take aways. Some snacks are available. However, this enterprise is about a bringing real ale back to the locals and jolly good it is at that too! Quirky, unusual but amazing!
