Punjabi Grill in Scottish Borders

Great friendly restaurant. We were a group of newbies and the restaurant tailored a starter with most of their delicacies. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the welcoming Grill. We'll surely visit again.

Food was lovely and extremely tasty. Lacking a little in atmosphere, but the staff were dealing with a cantankerous WiFi that kept disconnecting their music.

Dreadful experience. Very slow service, one wrong meal and all the food cold or tepid. Not even busy so no excuses

The food was ok/nice but not the best, but portion size was small. The chicken tikka starter was two very small pieces of chicken. And the pilau rice was far too small. That was the only real downside. Service was good.

Just had a chicken tikka masala that tasted like a sweet and sour, vinegar, ketchup. Truly awful. Naan bread burnt. Terrible

I came here for a family dinner and was absolutely devastated by the quality of the food. I’ve heard many good reviews about this restaurant, naming it the “best Indian food restaurant in the borders”. I absolutely do not agree. The food tasted like it was simply bought from Iceland for £3 and made in 10 minutes. They then raise the price to £10. The customer service was terrifying, as the staff are completely rude and have no manners. If you read this review, I advice that you never come here if you want to make the most out of your time and money. I won’t be coming back.

Best food I ever had in Hawick.

Lacked atmosphere, but it was early when we went, so may be better later on, food was good, service was ok.

First class food and a great place to unwind and chat after a tour of Scotland in the van. The Punjabi special is amazing and the coconut naan bread is the best anywhere.

Fantastic Indian food with tons of options - veggie or with various meats. The prices of the food for the high quality alone would guarantee 5 stars, but the service was also fantastic.

Excellent service and even better food. The naan bread was the nicest naan I have ever had. It wasn't too expensive either. Two curries, two naan and a rice, plus a drink for £39. The rice was easily a big enough portion for two. The portion size was very good as well. Could probably split a curry to be honest. Had to wait a little as everything is cooked from fresh, but it was worth the wait. All round, enjoyed very much and would highly recommend to anyone who is passing through like we was.

Had a really tasty takeout, very friendly and helpful staff. Called up to order then picked up and paid an hour later. 4 different and tasty curries and good naans. None were particularly hot if that's what you're looking for, I'm sure you can ask for some added heat though.

Had a jalfrezi I thought they had forgot to add spices my wife had a Bhuna it was tasteless. Even tried adding salt & loads of pepper .

Was staying nearby for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the food from here. Pakoras, curries and all sundries where extremely tasty.

Really lovely food! Best Indian I've had in a while. We (2 of us) ordered the fish pakora starter, the sizzling mixed grill for 2 and a coconut naan plus a bottle of wine and the bill was under £42! Service was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place.

Food is nice. Nicest takeaway food here. Have tried all the Chinese restaurants and Indian restaurants and fish and chip shops but this is by far the nicest. Staff and owner are lovely. Only downside is that I have been sent the wrong item on a couple of occasions which is why I marked this as 4 stars instead of 5

Ordered chicken burger meals and half pounder burger meal , drink missing , hair stuck to the cheese in the burger and chicken in burgers chargrilled , chips so hard , need an hammer to break them in half , very very disappointed as usually food is to an very high standard, will definitely not be ordering from here again .

Had a great experience tonight thank you guys. Loved the mixed grills and the currys. Even my wife and family enjoyed the food it was lovely. Kids loved the naan breads. 🔥🔥
