What a gem Pryd o Fwyd is! We are never disappointed whenever we eat here. Tonight it was whitebait for myself, sun dried tomato, basil and goats cheese risotto for hubby. Mains we had the baked cod with herb and bacon crust, crab mash, carrot and mangetout julienne and a beurre blanc. We ended our meal with a tasty iced passion fruit soufflé with coconut shortbread. This was washed down with a lovely portugese red. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We are so lucky to have this restaurant on our own doorstep and especially as the menu is refreshed regularly so lots of opportunity to try new dishes as well as revisit some old favourites. Thank you Guy and team.

On arrival we were very surprised with the building that faced us 😲 BUT.. when seated the service was exceptional! We were guided through the taster menu with wines to enhance the courses! The food was outstanding 😀 The atmosphere was very relaxed. If I had to say a negative… Signs to show where this place was. Also directions into the actual restaurant, because as you walk into the building your faced with the post office 🤦♀️ and the bar is to the right. Other than that, once sat in the restaurant you wouldn’t think you where in the same building! We will be back!!!

We always celebrate family birthays by having a Sunday lunch at Pryd o Fwyd. Notwithstanding the superb food they serve, it is such a welcoming venue and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Great atmosphere, great staff service and absolutely delicious food. Highly recommended.

We were a party of 22 staying in Ferryside and ordered a three course meal to be delivered to our accommodation. It arrived piping hot and on time. Very reasonable price and the food was delicious especially the pies which had beautifully crisp pastry and very tasty fillings. The starters of goats cheese tart or prawn cocktail or pate were also good And the chocolate desserts or lemon cup finished the meal in style. Would certainly use them again if we return

A brilliant venue. We had a friend & family members joint 18th & 21st Birthday party at Pryd o Fwyd last weekend. There were a few large rooms - a large quieter reception / bar / seating area, as well as a large room for plenty of tables, chairs, a disco & buffet table. The place would be an ideal wedding venue. There was also an outbuilding which we used for a hired buckaroo, photo booth & games table - again plenty of space. The food was delicious. Staff were very helpful, professional & very quick with orders/requests. Couldn't recommend this place enough! Looking forward to visiting again for an evening meal. Thankyou Terry & Guy.

Visited this Restaurant Wednesday night. We had the most wonderful meal. We started with the baked camembert. My husband had steak and I had the lamb Wellington. Finished off with the Cheesecake. The whole meal was sublime. The lamb was tender and cooked just right with melt in your mouth pastry surrounding it. With the vegetables and small potatoes it all complemented each other. The steak was just as it was ordered and cooked to perfection. We had the pleasure to chat to the Chef after and let him know how much we enjoyed our meal. We would highly recommend this tucked away gem in Ferryside. The outside doesn't do it justice.

Don't be put off by the exterior of this gem of a restaurant which looks like a community centre tucked off the main road into the village. We ordered a take away on a Friday evening on-line and ate in the following Thursday. Take away was chilli and rice and fish and chips which were excellent. The Thursday was a Persian themed night (£15 for three courses) followed by a quiz. Again, the meal was excellent but, as it was the last night of our holiday we didn't take part in the quiz (next time hopefully). Really good service too.

Don't let the exterior appearance of the building put you off! From the outside it looks like a community hall, but inside the dining room is pleasant and the staff helpful and welcoming. After a lot of research I had booked at Pryd O Fwyd. Got my dates all mixed up and actually missed my reservation. Felt so bad. Sent an apology to restaurant and they were so good about it. Re-booked for next day which was the final day of my holiday. Well it turned out to be a fab way to finish out the week. The meal was absolutely excellent. Really good value for money and the staff were utterly lovely. Well worth the drive down there. Highly recommended.

Five of us rode our bikes to Ferryside for lunch at Pryd y fwyd on Sunday. We were running late so we phoned ahead and they were very accommodating. It was sunny when we arrived so were able to sit outside and enjoy our starters and a drink but the weather changed so we went inside to another table for our lunch. The food was amazing - a real mix of traditional / modern / British / Welsh. The service was consistently great and, after we had left to catch the train, one of our party left their rucksack at the railway station. We called the restaurant and one of their staff went to the station, picked up the bag and kept it safe for my friend to collect. truly above and beyond level of service. Can't wait to go back.

No dessert but I could have ! The service was first class so all in all a well enjoyed evening. Keep it up Pryd you’re certainly doing it well … we will be back & will recommend 100% Ps of all things hubby was blown away by the tomato ketchup …. Very nice menu with plenty of variety to chose from. We had complimentary fresh homemade bread and water brought to the table to start. I had the beetroot salad as a starter, lamb cutlets for main meal and Eton mess as desert. All 3 dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour. Sensible size portions and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Tables were well spaced to adhere to social distancing rules. The menu changes every fortnight which is good as we do like to eat at Pryd quite often so there are always new dishes to try.A hidden gem in the lovely seaside village of ferryside. We went to this restaurant /cafe today. There was 5 adults and a 2 year old child. They were setting up the restaurant so we decided to order from cafe. There was one rable with out a sign saying you could not sit there. So it was taking a long time for our drink orders and with no communication of where to actually sit we sat there. Only for a very rude guy to say as our 2 year old was running round if you break anything you pay for it in very unpolite manner. Then to say you can't sit there as post office was open. So where exactly do we go. Seriously we were going to book that restaurant for an evening meal but we felt so unwelcome we sat outside on be he's and drank our drinks my daughter was scared to order her drink. Seriously do not go there especially if you have children and if you don't want to be spoken to in an uncivilised way. Never again. I'm 57 years of age and to be spoken to us that way was terrible.

Having heard such good things about the restaurant expectations were high. We were on time and weren’t seated for well over 40 minutes having made a reservation. That wouldn’t have mattered greatly had there been an explanation and apology but there was nothing and when it was queried when we would be seated the waiter/barman seemed rather put out saying the chef wouldn’t be rushed. He seemed very unhappy and lack lustre. I appreciate there may have been a serious staffing issue but an explanation and an apology would have gone a long way and unfortunately meant that the actual dining experience got off to a poor start. We were offered bread eventually which was bizarre and barely recognisable as bread. On a positive note the moules eaten by 2 of the party were reportedly very nice unfortunately that is where the positives end. The duck starter and prawns were merely ok. Further drinks had to be chased up. Some of the main courses were barely warm. Portions were modest which would have been perfectly fine if the quality was up to standard. The halibut was over cooked and the accompaniment described on the menu was more of a garnish. Needless to say we didn’t bother with dessert. There appeared to be a serious staffing issue from our experience and gauging the duration that others were also waiting but the management need to appreciate that poor customer service is inexcusable. Explanations to customers go a long way but this also was lacking. Such a shame, I hope this was a blip of some kind and that the management take on board this feedback as I really hope this local business succeeds.

We were in Ferryside towards the end of a day out whilst staying in Llandeilo and a chance conversation with a builder working on a house renovation lead to us seeking out Pryd O Fwyd. We would have been very unlikely to have found it otherwise and even if we had we might not have chosen to eat there. As another reviewer has said, do not be put off by the outside appearance or location. We enjoyed superb food in a pleasant and comfortable environment with good and charming service. The location is most unusual, quite a talking point and this is a meal we shall remember with pleasure.

The restaurant is the old post office so it is not the most attractive building and we were not sure if we were in the right place. Very glad we were though as the food is excellent. Be warned - Sunday lunch is huge! The staff were a bit hit and miss with things like water and bread but they were all lovely and could not have been more accommodating (once you reminded them). Liked it so much we went there 3 times.

Food was very tasty, using local produce. Service was good. Unfortunately drinks were very expensive, paid £21 for 3 G&T;'s. Well worth a visit though.

Holidaying in Ferryside and had this restaurant recommended. What a surprise and really enjoyed our evening. Staff were very attentive and the food was fine dining at a reasonable price. Hope to visit again before we leave for home. Would advise to book if going for an evening meal. The exterior of the restaurant is what it is, don’t be put off the food is brilliant.

My wife and I initially found Pryd by accident whilst driving through Ferryside! We stopped for coffee, which was excellent, and had a chat with the very helpful lady who was running the cafe/post office. Having learned something of the Community Enterprise which Pryd is a part we decided to return the following day for diner. It is safe to say that we were not disappointed! The food was excellent, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. We shall be returning next time we are in the area and have recommended Pryd to our friends!

Pryd has become a fixture for our family on the weekends. We were there again this week and the staff is so friendly and the food is EXCELLENT. The lunch menu is perfect and the we've started coming down for the Wed night early bird special (which is a steal). Such a great venue - the village is lucky to have it.

Having been to Pryd for several times for evening meals we decided to have a family Sunday lunch out whilst we had family staying. I’m the first to say I don’t normally eat Sunday lunch out as I know I cook a good one myself, but what a welcome surprise.

Sunday lunch. I had Welsh salt marsh lamb, and boy was it gorgeous. I'd booked a late service, at the end of the day, so knew it wouldn't be pink by then. That's ok by me, the taste really didn't suffer.

Had a fabulous weekend at the diplomat hotel for a hen party. Excellent service and attention all round but particularly from the lovely lady Julie, who looked after us so well all weekend. Thanks all

While staying for a short period in the area, we looked on line for a nice restaurant and a his seemed to fit the bill. We were very pleased with our visit. The reception was friendly and not at all pretentious. It is not a large place, perhaps no more than 30 covers and although we made reservations, it was fairly quiet mid-week. Our starter was hummus but strangely we had to order accompaniments separately. Not particularly substantial but we enjoyed our main courses of chicken and salmon. Both well prepared and presented. There is is a choice of generous side dishes which made for a substantial meal. Prices are very reasonable.

We wanted to treat ourselves to a nice evening meal during our holiday and were glad to have found Picton House. Our starters, mains and dessert were all delicious and well presented. We felt the prices were appropriate for the quality of the food. The staff were friendly and the place has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. We will certainly eat at Picton House again if we're in the area.
