Meet here once a month, greet food, and has a cosy feel to the place, need some sofas and tables Edit. Been coming here regularly for over 2 years now, still fantastic food and people, the new menu is great too

Very disappointing visit this was a Birthday meal for 6 I've been here before and always had great food, I had chicken and steak combo med rare with a jacket potato, my steak came out cold which they kindly returned it then came out well over done which was returned and the third time it came out blue, unfortunately the chicken was over cooked and really dry i only managed to eat the jacket potato which was lovely, everyone on the table that had chips had to send them bk as they were cold, we paid extra for peppercorn sauce which was about 1 table spoon bearly enough to pour on the steak, we didn't actually eat together because everybody's food was coming back at different times which was very upsetting as the birthday guest eat her food by herself which was hot and very nice (fishcakes)the staff was very apologetic and did offer a discount but was still very disappointed don't think I'll be coming here again which is a shame as the staff were lovely but the food was a big let down...

The Prince George was recommended to us as a good place to eat. We were a party of 8 and despite a couple of the group being quite late in arriving, the pub was really relaxed regarding our booking (we did keep them informed of the situation), so when we finally sat down to eat 45 minutes late there was no pressure to hurry up despite them being quite busy. Between us we had a good variety of starters, mains & desserts. One member of the group complained that their chicken breast was dry and it was swiftly replaced, but that was the only criticism regarding the quality of the food. To be fair, this sort of thing happens occasionally and it's how the situation is dealt with that matters and the staff were excellent on this occasion. Concerning the staff and servers, everyone we came in to contact with was friendly, cheerful, professional and courteous. I would happily return to the Prince George and recommend them to others.

Went to the Prince George today 9/3/25 food ordered and arrived very quickly , i had the pie with chips, my husband had the gammon roast., my chips were Luke warm and dry almost like they had been recooked, pie was cold , my husbands roast was also cold , disappointed as we are regulars and the food was not to the normal standard sorry

Niamh looked after us very well. The kids pizza was tiny but overall we had a great experience. Biscoff pancakes were a hit! 🍕🍦🥞

Always enjoy the food here, for some reason we didn't have a waiter assigned to our table and were left having to ask passing staff to order each course.

The George has a well deserved reputation for good service. If I could change one thing it would be making the starters a big bigger. The main meal was excellent. Good drinks, all staff were very attentive and the place is clean with a great atmosphere. We were served by Niamh. We celebrated a birthday and the night was enjoyed by us all.

WOW WOW WOW! Never have I had such great service. Alisha and Niamh are a real credit to the place and they always go above and beyond when it comes to guest service. I will definitely be coming back and bringing all my friends and family !

Hollie, our waitress, was absolutely lovely. Our food, however, was not as good as on previous occasions. We had the Valentines sharing menu - garlic bread was hard, maybe been out for a while? The chicken was dry and chips had no flavour to them. Dessert was faultless.

Called in for lunch for lunch last weekend and the service we received from Niamh was excellent. Went above and beyond to accomadate our dietry requirements. Would 100% recommend to friends and family

Good service & food - worth returning

We couldn't have been better looked-after at the Prince George. My 6 year-old daughter is gluten-free and Lauren and her colleagues went out of her way to help accommodate her dietary requirements. The food was delicious and my daughter, who usually struggles with few options at restaurants was provided with a full-menu to choose from. They were really careful and considerate with allergens and we felt really valued as customers. Thank you to everyone for a lovely lunch!

Went in on a Saturday night, no booking, but the staff were extremely helpful and were happy to find us a table. The food was absolutely delicious and when asked to make sure my sticky toffee pudding was hot and with custard instead of ice cream it was easily done. Will definitely be coming here again.

Came back after a few months b4 christmas because we had lovely Birthday then for a family member, so thought we would have a night out. Our service was brilliant, ordering was brilliant but chef gave wrong sauce after quickly changing it at the ordering stage and I moaned at one of the girls about it, sorry. My meal eventually was lovely after re doing one of my items, but, it was not enough, for the price, it was a child's portion and the fruit juice drinks are over priced, sorry, I know some prices have gone up but nearly a fiver for a fruit drink we won't be ordering again. We will go again yes but not that often. Could not fault the service we had though

Terrible management. Asked for a slice of lime at 10.30, was told it was already put away. When insisted the server rolled her eyes then went to the fridge and took a piece of lime out using her fingers and put it in my drink. last orders was forced at 10:30. Drinks served, once we had the glass beer bottles and glasses we were told to decant them into plastic tumblers….. all this before 10:45…. After ordering drinks someone came around insisting we replace our glasses to plastic !

Party of 6 adults at lunch time. On the whole food was good although deserts ranged from good to poor. On the whole reasonable value for money including drinks.

Service here is always golden and tonight’s visit with Harry as our server, couldn’t fault him at all. Always welcoming and a nice relaxing environment for any occasion.

Was here last night at tribute band, great Atmosphere, the only moan I have was the table right in front of the stage, which you didn't have much room there , as very crampt, otherwise it was great

Monday evening dinner. Had pasta, wasn’t that great, the skillet was burning hot but the food was luke warm. It wasn’t very large & i found myself still hungry. Husband had rotisserie chicken & really liked it.

Lovely meal for a biggish group 14, lovely place. We were looked after by Lauren who was brilliant and everyone had a great time. I personally had the 3 meat roast followed by lemon meringue pie. I feel very happy.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Prince George yesterday, one of my great friend local pub. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming, and the service was brilliant. While I only tried a few starters, they were enough to show that the food here won’t disappoint. I’m already looking forward to my next visit for a more indulgent experience!

The rotisserie chicken was hot but extremely dry. The vegetables were barely warm. The worst meal I’ve ever had. I certainly won’t be going back.

As a mum with a little one with allergies, knowing that I can give her lots of options like at the Prince George is great!! She can even have the ice cream and smarties like other children her age! So thank you!!! Lovely atmosphere and staff too

Good place to go for a drink if you are near the morrison in westcroft, you have already seen the nut and squirrel and some others, the nachos are a must choice to snack on and share, the good thing is that we didn't wait long to be served, but In some things, the dish is not very good, like the Hunter chicken, which was probably because it came with the idea of ​​another establishment and they assured me that this was the best, not for my taste, but a visit to this place is highly recommended, although at least What I still can't get used to is the pay and now I'll serve you, if you see me that I'm packed with a backpack, junk, jacket, etc., leaving it on the chair, put the beer without fear, I'm not going to escape, especially if I come from training that I I drink two pints at a time. Restaurant has plenty of seating. The pub area is great if you have your dog or dogs with you. They're only allowed in this area and there I'd plenty of room. Dogs have their menu, too! Water books are available. Ample outdoor seating. Ample parking, which is free. Very attractive and clean. I love this as it's so relaxing. Staff are great, and the service is quick.

The food is ok. But not enough on the menu. And the portion size is not great

We just went there for drinks, but we've had a meal there before and it was good. The atmosphere is really warm and cozy. It's a pub and it has a nice relaxed feel to it. They have 2 for £13 cocktails Monday to Thursday, so it's worth going for a midweek drink. The staff are lovely and friendly too.

Food was dry. Came out incorrectly first. Food was cold so sent back.manager was very nice and sorted it out. Shame really as the food used to be lovely. Waitress very professional and easy to talk to.

The Prince George Is an attractive and spacious pub/restaurant . However, I was very disappointed with the Sunday roast. The potatoes were so hard I could hardly cut them. They tasted like they’ve been kept in a warming cupboard for a day. The vegetables were limp and tasteless. The stuffing was like a rock and the cauliflower cheese had hardly any cheese sauce on it . Instead of slices of chicken, I was presented with a quarter chicken which to be fair was cooked nicely That was hard to manage on the plate. The staff were friendly and attentive and were quick to replace my potatoes with fresher ones. However, I would not recommend this pub for a Sunday roast.

Absolutely Amazing. The star ratings say it all. This was our first time here and as it was a Birthday party, I really can't fault any of the staff or service, anything at all really, they were all so marvellous, pleasant helpful, kind, considerate and above all that, they had manners. This is the kind of customer service that I love and that's how it should be. I do it to my customers and that's how I want to be treated. Thank you all for everything especially Katie, we couldn't have pulled it off without you and your team, I loved you two who executed the Birthday cake well, I think he was really surprised so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also, thanks to Katie for cooking my take away BBQ chicken wings and halloumi chips that I had to come back for, your a star so thank you. We all very much enjoyed our meals even our little one, I'm quite surprised she behaved relatively well, sorry we all couldn't stay for the live music but we definitely will be back again and again. I hope you're manager who was on duty Saturday will pass on my message to you all. Simply Amazing, thank you, you're all mega stars.

Yet again this pub has not got the chicken skewer. I have now been here four times on the trot and they have not had it available once. I mentioned it to the manager who said that i should have rang in advance to order it. Not being rude but if it is on the menu at least have it available once. Perhaps the restaurant should order more of them!

Always a lovely atmosphere at the George whether you're inside or outside. The staff are always great, the food is always tasty and you've got to have an ocean fireplace when it gets chilly.

Still a great place to eat with friends and family.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Post-Match Pub! After an intense 11-a-side friendly match (which we won 7-4!), heading to Prince George with the lads was the perfect way to celebrate. The atmosphere was spot on—exactly what we needed after a game full of great goals, including crackers from Miles and Joel (who don’t often score!). The staff was welcoming, and the drinks were just what we needed to wind down. Definitely the go-to spot for post-match celebrations! We'll be back for sure.

Nice atmosphere, nice staff, pleasant location & clean. The Sunday lunch however, was dry beyond belief. Roast potatoes impossible to cut, stuffing ball like a musket ball and chicken really dry and hard to chew. Left over half of it because it was such hard work. I have had better food here before not at weekends, so maybe avoid the Sunday lunch.

Had delicious Steak and Ale pies there. Very busy on Saturday afternoon.

Threw a surprise birthday lunch for my mum on Saturday and pre-booked a table for 12 people. Great service and help in advance and extremely accommodating to my requests. Food was amazing and our server Lauren was absolutely wonderful. Thanks so much for a great time, will definitely be back soon!

Excellent food, cooked with great professionalism. The environment is spacious with good acoustics. If it's sunny, the garden is also available. Fast and friendly service. We enjoyed the hummus, the chicken burger, the shrimp cocktail. It's worth a detour from the highway to stop here.

Beautiful pub with a lively, family oriented atmosphere. Staff were all happy & friendly (bar, reception & waiting) - they obviously enjoyed working there and hence made our experience all the better. Food was served quickly and was delicious and there are plenty of beer & spirits options. Outdoor area was also great and managed to sit under the heater (of only which 1 worked) but a pleasant view there & plenty of room. Would definitely go back.

Niamh served us tonight and we had a fantastic time. She went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our drink and meal choice. Fast, friendly service from the whole team and the food was so yummy! You’ve just gained some new customers! Can’t wait to return.

I found a NAIL inside my cup I didn’t want to tell anybody because they all love this restaurant but to be honest I was disgusted and disappointed because I love this restaurant

I arranged to meet here with friends because we meet up together here and surrounding eateries every 4-6 weeks and I go here for drinks too in between with other family and friends. Usually I don't have any reason to complain, but last night it just fell apart for my friends and myself. The seating was booked and we even got our usual seating area and chilled with air con on a very hot evening. We ordered after our drinks arrived. I ordered a starter of Halloumi fries with a chilli sauce, when they arrived they were ' cremated' I called a waitress ( who was lovely) & she said she would come back to me as she was very busy delivering to the outside very busy area too. A short time and a man in a black shirt walked up to me and my friends said ' il take the fries, at which point my friends and I thought he was a' random man' who wanted my' burnt offering' but then realised he must have been the 'floor manager'? , he did not announce himself. He did not explain who he was just whipped the plate from under my nose!!! A short while I was presented with a replacement, looked better but did not taste of Halloumi the tasty part was the very small portion of chilli sauce. There was a long wait to the main course, which we put down to the busy outside areas being served with drinks and food. Finally..... And onto the main course... I ordered the Lite rotisserie chicken with slaw and fries. All meals arrived except one of my friends but we didn't know why it took so long as it was a pasta dish? My fries were cold, and so were the fries on my friends dishes who ordered the Hunters chicken. My chicken was tasteless and to confirm I asked friends to try and they agreed with me. I left it, although arriving at the restaurant feeling hungry after a busy day at work, it was just awful. My friends pasta dish wasn't very nice although she ate at least half, the two friends with Hunters left most of theirs too. The other friend who had a salad with a steak on side was OK, "hard to make a bad salad and fry a small potion of steak" When our waitress came to collect the dishes I explained the reason for all of my food still on my plate, as she wasn't about to ask??? We declined dessert and further drinks, and It was taken off the bill at the end, thank you! Which came to just over £103. minus my chicken. I'm sure you will agree this was not a pleasant eating experience at least not the one my friends and I ex pected I am not sure what went wrong, a different chef in situ, the chef was having a bad day, the staff were over worked?????? I don't know!!!! I will have to think twice before returning again, my 4 friends and I said exactly this as we were saying our goodbyes? Perhaps the man in the black shirt could have smiled, perhaps he could have come back and checked on us with an apology, but nothing.... It was like our hard earned money meant nothing! 'Service 'as well as' good food' and 'word of mouth' brings people back time and time again, if that was the case perhaps ' The Prince George' would be worthy of it's name & less advertising on social media would be necessary? Thank you

Me and my boyfriend came here on our first date in January. We’ve been together ever since. We love this spot so much Always 10/10 service 10/10 in general. It’s an amazing spot and I hold so many great memories here :)

Tyler was our serving assistant and was very polite and attentive. We have had it in other places, where a assistant comes over 5 or 6 times to ask us if “we are ok” Tyler got the balance right. He reads the room and treats people accordingly. That is half the battle won, and food is lovely. My partner and I had rotisserie chicken 1/4 and a nice rack of ribs ( not soaked in barbecue sauce just the right amount). We also had coleslaw but my better half had chips and I had a jacket potato. We finished off we a mr whippy in a waffle cone with a flake and chocolate sauce. We just water and lemonade for drinks. Had great service would definitely recommend.

I visited the Prince George for the first time a week ago and I must say I was slightly disappointed. The food wasn’t as nice as I expected I have been to other franchises before such as warbler on the wharf and was extremely happy with the quality of the food. The staff weren’t very attentive and I had to get their attention to order and get the bill. One of the waiters also split drinks on me and my family, overall I wouldn’t eat here again. It’s definately a nice place to get a drink but whatever you do don’t eat there!
