Food disgusting. Chips were dry 90% had black hole bits on them or burnt bits from bottom of the barrell obviously using bad potatoes. Burger was cooked on the outside pink raw in the middle and smelt off, I will never be using again absolutely disgusting food almos a tenner for a manky burger 😢 never again

Sometimes the food can be on or off like it can be good then can be bad like Saturday I had some and it wasn't the best I threw most of mine and I am a big food person lol

Chips always seem to be stale or taste like they been put back into the oil to make out they are fresh hot chips, most other items I have had are OK but the chips are not good to constantly being stale

So I've just came back from getting my food at moores. Ordered a batter sausage and chips and donner meat and chips. Battered sausage was fine and the chips.......but I don't even know what to name the meat they gave me but it was solid and burnt to crisp and trying to pick it up with a fork it just disintegrated into tiny little bits. I don't know if you had a kid or someone very under-trained on donnermeat but ile most certainly won't be buying that ever ever again. Ladies who was serving even looked at the box before handing it over questioning why the sauce was put on the chips not the meat (if you can call it meat). Do not buy donner meat from there please believe me you'll thank me later. Posting photo of proof of purchase.

I have been using Moores at Newton Leys ever since they opened here but I don't know what is wrong lately ,last three times food is nowhere near as good as it used to be,much greasier and chips are just dry ,Cod itself was good but batter limp and greasy,something's changed ,such a shame with 3 times in succession think I may go elsewhere now ,quality definitely dropped

I ordered some fish and chips on the 26th March and I cancel them you sent me a email to say you would refund my money the amount was £18 but as yet I have not received it can you let me know ,I will wait for your reply thank-you

Great portion sizes and good value.

Ordered Fish bites meal x 2. You get 4 bits of fish in each. So in each meal only 2 of the bites had fish inside, 4 out of 8 were just batter. When this is so even across two meals its clear you're cutting corners to cut costs. Nobody fries fish and doesn't realise there is no fish inside! Never again

Fish was ok,chips as usual lately we're hard baked, must have been drying out for some considerable time.even after I she assured me fresh were cooking, and I still got the bottom of the barrel.8 pm , Thursday .Not sure I'd be going there again for my £ 20.

The chips were old and dry not a good example

We love ordering from Moores and the quality of the food is good. Hot, fresh chunky chips , lovely even batter that's crisp on the fish, sausages, scampi, fish cakes, mushy peas we have ordered different items and always been good. Usually order direct on their website and we pick up 25min later. Today decided to order and have delivery and we were missing a fish cake from the order. We didn't want the rest of the food to go cold while driving back to get replacement , was my sons fish cake, he was happy to split sausage and fish from mine and partners meal so all was good. Submitted for the refund of the missing fish cake, no hassle there. We all enjoyed our meals, plenty to go round, hot, fresh. Will still order from here but may stick to going and picking up rather than delivery so can check it at the counter.

Food was cold and missing items

Delicious chips, and arrived hot. My only issue was there is nowhere to request salt and vinegar to be added, but to be honest it wasn't a major problem as we were able to do this ourselves.

The only problem we had I put on the notes “ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, NO CHEESE ON THE BURGER “ the receipt was then signed below that but the burger still arrived with cheese on it….wasn’t sure what else to do to explain no cheese.

Tasty! I ordered 1 Haddock and 1 Cod (with chips of course) to compare...we liked Cod a little better! Everything warm and well packaged.

Before i pop around the lake i pop into moores for the chips and a drink. Very tasty chips and im sure the fish is too. I suppose walking around the lake with a bag of chips and drink can be a a expensive thing too. £4.40. 😂

I’ve been to moores plenty of times with no problems but tonight we had it delivered. The chips were awful, they were really dry and tasted like they’d been sitting around since yesterday. We ordered at 6 so wasn’t expecting old chips. We couldn’t even eat them. Very disappointed

Fish overcooked, chips reasonable. Salt and vinegar means I want salt and vinegar on my meal. Lightest dusting of salt and the vinegar was un-detectable......I think they just showed my meal the vinegar bottle. Very disappointed.

Fish and chips are always good and I love the southern fried chicken but my last order the chicken was so raw, VERY PINK. The pieces of chicken are really big to be fair but they need to check the temperature inside to be safer.

Poetry in motion is how I will describe the service. Ordered large cod which I knew I would have to wait for. The person serving not only had large talons but nail varnish on each talon. I was told my order was ready and had to ask her to put the cod meal in a bag. Double checked with her that it was all there and she answered in the affirmative Got home sausage missing and the large cod thst I had cooked was cold as I only live 5 mins away it shows how long it took to wrap my meal

Usually order from here and have no problems. Tonight wasn’t great. Online order for £40. Picked up perfectly with no complaints. Get home to my family and open the bag. Dish out the orders to find my large Cod was missing. After already feeling annoyed that I had to drive back, I get back there to be greeted with some really poor customer service, despite the error being totally with them. I was then given 4 pieces of cod. Yet I only asked for the 1 large that was missing. I asked for my money back due to the inconvenience and was told no. Really disappointed with the poor service and will definitely not be going back.

Honestly they do the best southern fried chicken here, every time I visit this place I order the chicken, big pieces of chicken too! Would recommend it 100%

Worst chip shop. Only caters for people who like the taste of death and suffering

The chicken nuggets are to die for.

Waited 45 minutes, unfortunately not worth the wait. Staff seemed very unorganised and the chips were very, well lacking colour and taste sadly.

Mini cod special is £6.95 and is the perfect size (not too many chips). You get chips, cod, and a side of choice. Plenty of parking spaces available, eat outside facility available. One lady in there needs to fix up her customer service skills though.

Very disappointed in the service and especially the Managers attitude. Placed a order at 6h15 waited and waited and waited. Just to found out my order is not even processed. When I asked about the status I just got a rude comment that it is progress. Requested a refund had to ask not one but a few times for the manager to attend. He had no interest at all to hear why we were not happy waiting over an hour. Just gave us a look at mumbled. Eventually refunded the money. Very rude. The staff had no idea what to do. We supported the shop over many months always getting our orders wrong. Overlooked it but this was definitely the last straw. They won’t get my support anymore. Wanted to support local but rather drive to a service that is happy to see a customer.

Regular customer here every month and food is always delicious. Good sized portions and cooked very well.

Great value for money, best chips and nuggets!

Currently waiting just gone 40 mins for a portion of chips and 2 battered sausages. Everytime we come here we are waiting and waiting. Regardless if we pre order online. Makes no difference. Food is good but chips portions are small. We won't be coming back this time due to waiting so long every time we come here.

Placed an order via uber eats. Food we received was very nice however we had a portion of chips missing. I tried phoning and no answer, not impressed. The point of ordering for delivery is for convenience, but checks need to be done to ensure what has been ordered is delivered. And it's not the first time this has happened.

Just spent £20 in this chippie and what a waste! £4.20 for a chicken ranch burger which had just a chicken burger and rotten lettuce in! The girl even asked me if I wanted everything in the burger, to which I said yes. Hardly any food ready and hot, so long queuing times. I wouldn't go here again, absolute waste!!

Made the mistake of visiting here on a Friday - it was busy and a complete shambles. There was a queue outside so I joined it. After about 10 minutes, it transpired that some people queueing ahead of me had placed orders and were waiting to collect. Others hadn't ordered yet. About 5 staff were just constantly getting food wrapped and ready to go. No-one was taking orders. When I finally DID manage to get my order in, I was told that chicken pieces would be a further 15 minutes wait - it would have been a lot less if it had been been clear from the outset how and where to place an order. A few signs would be helpful at busy times. Finally, I ordered small chips and got a bucketload which I couldn't possibly finish. Does nowhere do actual small portions of chips any more? It's like they hear you and then just ignore you.I find that the food is good.Just don't go on Friday evenings until they can sort out a clearer system for ordering / waiting.

Absolutely love this Chippy.... I just wish sometimes that they cooked the chips a few minutes longer.... they can be quite hard sometimes..... Battered bangers.... outstanding 😍 Service.... always 150% xxxxx

Cod roe wasn't very nice,not light and fluffy tasted horrible .

Ordered food today, got two extra beef burgers and missing my halloumi burger. Wouldn’t of minded but I’m veggie so couldn’t eat it. Tried to ring three times and couldn’t get through. Chips are over cooked too. Waited 25 mins for the food, did not go back up there as I wanted to eat with my family and new the wait would be longer.

Went to Newton leys for our tea last Friday 14 gave my order 3 cod bites Large battered sausage Large chips curry sauce young lady called out an order battered sausage cod bites curry sauce is what I heard, picked up Food got back to the car to eat it then discovered it was the wrong order there was five battered sausages three cod bites no chips and curry sauce. Took it back in and told the young lady I’ve got the wrong order a lady said she had to throw that order away as she could not resell it, she then said what did you order I told her again what I wanted she rang it up in the till again and said that would be £9 something I said I have already paid she said sorry of course then done the order. I got outside once again to eat it in the car there was no curry sauce, I went back in said it’s not my day there is no curry sauce this time she apologised and I got my curry sauce. The next day I looked at my bank statement and found the she had charged me over £14 for my first order which should’ve been an order of £9. We have been there before because the food is very good. it was not that busy that evening Had more staff and customers. I was very disappointed on this visit don’t think I will go back In a hurry will try one of the others in MK

Came here yesterday from the other end of Milton Keynes after seeing the good reviews. Ordered a large cod and chips. I could not believe how small this large cod was. It was smaller than a regular from my local. The smallest large I have ever had in fact. The batter also was the thinnest I have ever had on a fish! Never coming here again.

It's Fish and chips with loads of additions and extras. I think they must have food in here for the whole family even if you don't want chips. BBQ ribs and chicken. Whole chickens. All reasonable price and good service.

Moores Newton Leys has helped me love chip shops again! The chips are fluffy and have a good price. The burgers here are HUGE! JUICY! And very, VERY, tasty. It's easy to see why Moores were voted best chip shop in Milton Keynes!

Just had our first Moore's fish and chips, the best fish and chips we have ever had, nice crispy batter and not at all greesy. I highly recommend this shop

Had to give one star as there was no option for none. Spent nearly £17 on food this evening or as the rude member of staff Jo informed me "it was only £16.10" to get home with the sides of chips missing therefore when we explained that left us with only cod bites, a very dry pepperoni melt and a burger with the sauce missing that we asked to have tomatoe to feed my family after a very busy day at work was far from ideal. As we live over half an hour away with children under 3 to feed an hours round trip was more than inconvenient. A refund was refused and we have now had to place an order else where which has become an expensive evening for dinner due to incompetence. Not even an apology. Only tried to help resolve once asked for the managers name and told i was going to write this review. For an award winning take away this is far from the service i would expect. we wont be reccomending to family/ friends and will find elsewhere to go.

Really has gone down hill the measly amount of chips you get at is a complete joke,ask for curry sauce you only get Chinese curry sauce not traditional chip shop sauce. Chips were cold and soggy, Worst chippie ever been too

Usually love the food from this place but tonight got back home to discover the burgers were almost raw and very pink. Called the shop to let them know ( not in a nasty way) was greeted with "well what do you want me to do about it" Terrible way to talk to a customer, so rude. will not be recommending or going back to what was my local chippy.

Thoroughly disappointed with the food from here tonight. Ordered 2 large cod large haddock and two large chips Got home to find small haddock and only one portion of chips in the bag Cod was cold and the haddock was dripping grease Chips must have been lunchtimes leftovers..... revolting I will not ever buy from here again, not to mention the almost £30 bill for the dissatisfaction ........... flipping fuming

Pre ordered and picked up a cod/chips and mushy peas. So disappointed as fish was very dry and coated in greasy batter. The chips were poor quality and very greasy. All in the bin. Won’t be returning.

Sadly we didn’t like what we got from here, I asked skinless cod, the skin was left on the fish, the battered sausage had hardly any batter on it, chips were soggy oily. Ive had a large cod, usually I cannot finish my large cod elsewhere, this one i could finish it but it is not because I can eat more now... fish was much smaller.

Love this chip shop coming from Norfolk coast where they pride themselves on fresh fish it’s hard to compete, Moore’s do a great job at it!

liked it some way, fish was fresh, but it was all soeaked in oil, I would wait a little bit longer, and have it dry, then it would be perfect!

Totally recommend Moore’s Fish and Chips! They catered for our Charity Event this weekend and did an awesome job. Great value and great food! They provided 70 meals, all with sauce and also sent salt and vinegar, cutlery and napkins and they had it all ready for collection and piping hot at 7pm. Our guests all said the food was great! Will definitely use them again! MK Ladies Circle
