First time trying, had high hopes. But customer service was rude and lacklustre and the sponge of the cupcakes were very dry. Really disappointing.

I had heard that it was one of nicest cupcake shops in the area so i ordered a few cupcakes. When the cupcakes were not what i had seen on the website i asked if the cupcake icing and sprinkles were randomly chosen. I wasnt making a complaint, was genuinely curious. The lady then went up to me and with a frown on her face asked what the problem was. The customer service in the shop was horrible, making me feel as if it had been me who has done something wrong, i felt very confused and annoyed at the same time. When i came home and tried, the cupcake was very dry as if it had been made a few days before. Im sure it isnt but it was that dry…frustrating and i am not going to order again from the shop.

Recently bought a birthday cake for my mum's 90th!! The cake was perfect! Looked amazing, ready in no time and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place!!

The best cakes ever! We have ordered birthday cakes from here for years. I think their chocolate buttercream icing is the best in the world. I also love the s'mores cake as the marshmellow like frosting (meringue frosting?) is divine. When I moved to London from NYC in 2010, Magnolia Bakery was one of the things I missed most. When I found Primrose Bakery, I was so delighted. 11 years on and I am still delighted. The owners also stock fun, unique gift items such as candles, candy, stationery from brands I never find anywhere else in London.

I visited Primrose Bakery last week by accident, and it turned out to be the best accident ever: The cakes are delicious, the staff is extremely friendly, the whole atmosphere around this place just feels like a sweet fluffy cloud. I will definitely come back soon!

We pre-ordered a time-specific collection (at their request) for Mother's Day. My daughter arrived on time to collect the order, which was waiting for her on the counter. It was very busy, with many customers queuing. Rather than being "allowed" to take our order, which was clearly on view, she was sent to the back of the queue and made to wait almost an hour to collect. How hard would it have been for them to simply hand her our cakes ? I would certainly not have stood for this clearly unacceptable customer service and it may simply be endemic of the behaviour of those who live and work in the area. Alternatively, it may simply be that the owners and staff are truly horrible people. Either way, we shan't be buying again and may this ghastly review be a lesson to them. I hope that people read this and spend their hard earned pennies elsewhere, where they may just be treated with a modicum of respect and kindness.

Great cake, delivered right on time. I couldn't be there for my daughter's birthday but this really helped, thank you. Very helpful on the phone when ordering and the delivery driver was friendly and cheerful too!

Not only was this my favourite bakery in London for the past few years, they also never closed during lockdown and allowed me to have a piece of happiness throughout the day. I had a lockdown birthday and I was able to order as normal via their website for my vegan birthday cake, which was so easy and delicious!

Primrose Hill Bakery is a fantastic place for a good coffee and a cup cake. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and they make the best cup cakes and birthday cakes around. We are regulars at this hidden gem.

Working as a key worker for the government and my husband worker as a delivery driver never visits this place again all sitting there and serving only one when I said it doesnt take long for making this and staff sitting there she made the coffee and refused to give. Absolute disgrace disgusted the lack of customer service and because I was speaking truth she refused plus I'm indian. I been bought up in toddington Bedfordshire born in london I lived in a village whereby my family are only coloured family there never experienced this ever in my 38 years of life. This will be passed to the local authority and will file a complaint. I do not want apology I want companies like this where racism is taking place to be closed.

This place is great to grab a coffee and a cake before heading up to primrose hill. Not a huge amount of seating, however, so better for a takeaway. Note - it gets pretty busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait!
