Ordered a takeaway from this place. Asked for chicken Suya and got beef, which was hard. The rest of the food was disgusting and greasy and inedible.

People I’m Very disappointed in the quality of food. I entered for a quick lunch I ordered chicken Suya with fired yam. Before I placed the order I asked if the chicken was fresh which I was told yes. Once the food arrived I could see the chicken was dry and the portion very small. I called the lady who asked what the problem was, was the food too small which obviously was an issue along with the lack of seasoning and the fact the chicken was not fresh. I believe the chicken was preheated in a microwave which is why it was so dry and distasteful. How disappointing fortunate for me I did not pay for the meal I can now go and buy some authentic Suya. Do better

Awful experience at the take away shop, they try and skank you on the price, and they try and pluck numbers out the air! Totally appalling and won’t be going back!!! However, my first experience in the resturant was great, plus the prices are listed in a menu.

Stopped by Presidential Suya for last minute Saturday night treat and were greeted with a warm welcome by the manager on duty. We received great service and menu recommendations. Atmosphere was great and staff are super friendly. Looking forward to coming back again.

My friends and I spontaneously popped into Presidential Suya on Sunday evening.. We had an amazing time. The food was to die for. I went there last year for my birthday (recommended by a friend) and we ordered and ate so much food we had to take dogie bags home with us. I don't usually write reviews but, on this occasion I feel the need to. the guys there were smashing. My friends and I were remembered by the waiter who served us, which i thought was amazing. Staff are truly amazing. The food is absolutely gorgeous, i just love all of it. The yams, stews, fish all of it, is very tasty. Definitely going back very soon. Thank you to all of you for making me and my friends feel so welcomed. We really appreciate it :-)

I usually try to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I.e. maybe the chef is having a bad day or something but I think this is officially the worst restaurant I have had the misfortune to dine in. First of all the first 3 dishes I requested they did not have. Eventually I settled on the presidential fish dish. Oh boy oh boy oh boy! The fish was not cleaned well and it was literally like rubber. There was barely any sauce on it and it really was not properly seasoned. Disappointed is not a strong enough word. Even the fried yam was refried. I am pretty much horrified by the experience and needless to say I won't be coming back....Even if I was offered a ****load of money, wild horses could not drag me back. The waitress seemed confused and flustered, and I found her to be thoroughly inefficient. I have included a picture that unfortunately doesn't show how really truly abysmal the fish was. But hopefully you can see how rubbery it was. Now I'm off for some fish and chips because I'm still hungry.

Terrible, Both my wife and I got food poisoning. Luckily our daughter was being picky that evening and didn't eat. Absolutely sick for the last two day since we ate there. Called to complain only to be met with a "Really sorry, God bless you guys" she also said that we should point ourselves out next time we come in. We're never going back.

This place is small and outdated. As noticed at other African takeaways as well, these people pay little attention to cleaning. What a shame, because the beef suya I bought was pretty good (not too spicy, even I could eat it) and was prepared fast (unlike in African restaurants, where you get retired before your food arrives). They accept card payments though.

Overall, I would ultimately recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a craving for all dishes Nigerian. In that regard, this restaurant does the trick.I was very pleased with my meal, and it was preferred to utter perfection right down to the presentation. This was what made my trip here worthwhile. The ambiance is what it is for a Nigerian restaurant: comfortable dining area with TVs streaming Nigerian content. The one unfortunate thing about my meal here was the service: atrocious is a kind way to describe it.From the look of utter irritation bestowed upon me by my assigned waitress whose tea-time I seem to have interrupted (her hostility was, at first, so hostile, I almost got up and left); to the manager who couldn't seem to distinguish right from left; to the proprietor who arrived toward the end of the meal who engaged in a loud and lengthy tirade against his hapless staff in earshot of the other diners.I was positioned so that I could actually see this taking place, and it did sour the mood a little.Still, I like Nigerian food, so I will probably be back. :-)

I ordered a Nigerian soup with beef and fish, and some pounded yams. The waiter asked, do you want cutlery? Quite an unexpected question to ask a Scandinavian guy with no previous experience of west African eating. He responded very kindly and politely to my question on how to go about it without cutlery, and I managed to enjoy the dish eating with my fingers only. Good food and friendly people even though I stuck out from the crowd like a sore thumb.

lazy staff, you almost have to beg to get attention from the waiters, after being served a mediocre mixed meat pepper soup for starters and standard jollof rice and beef for the main we were presented with the bill which we had to wait 20 minutes to receive. Exactly 24hrs after visiting this place i had severe diarrhoea which i am certain resulted from the pepper soup as business partner had suffered the same fete as me but not as bad because he did no eat as much as i did. After this experience i shall not be returning

Totally Absymal customer service and dinning experience Waited for 15 minutes at the door before we gave up and sat ourselves After seating ourselves, the only female waitress basically saw us and ignored us until a kind male waitress noticed and took our orders. After finally ordering it took 1.5 hours between making the order and actually receiving our meal . The food finally arrives and it is all shades of heat, you could even taste the flavours of the meal . Finally gave up and decided to leave and we had to wait another 20 minutes before they gave us a receipt. I wouldn't recommend at all

One goes to an African restaurant not for service or presentation but for the good food rich in flavour, this is what I told my English friend before taking him to this restaurant. We went on an early Saturday evening when we knew it would not be full. We are greeted and shown to our table. We looked through the menus and they explained the foods we did not understand. We stared with the suyas (beef and geezered). I had the jollof rice and my friend had the pounded yam with fish soup. The food was delicious and flavoursome. The portions were generous for the price charged. We were still full the following morning, that is the sign of a good African restaurant. It was as good as I remembered it from six years ago. Long my it continue to bless the Old Kent Road.

i have been going to Presidential on and of for a few year, and every time I have gone with my Husband and friends we have had a good time.. Admittedly the service has been a little bit slow, and some dishes like the ukwobi has been known to be a little bit overly generous with the pepper, but, in my oppinion the food has always been delicious... I usually go for dishes like Egusi & Efo ri ro, Okra Soup, Suya, Jolloff Rice and Unkwobi all very delicous and tasty. They also do take away, I have orderd from them before and they were fast and efficient, I was supp I am quite pleased that they now have an extention bar area... it has come leaps and bounds over the years, to the extent that is has become chic, stylish and with the "MODERN" times. I would recommend this restaurant to my associates and friends any day, any time especially over that tasteless 805 up the road. I do hope people find this helpful.

Came here with 3 good friends so usually anywhere we go will end up a good time. The place itself is of a nice standard, nothing to write home about, it was lit up nicely with lights all over the place. It has one major dining room, a bar-ish area to the right and a small private dining area to the left (which I've been told is an extra 20% to use). It took a good 10mins to be acknowledge for a drink, we ordered not long after this and it didn't take to long to get our starters which was a grilled chicken and beef dish, meat was, quite spicy but the season all sprinkled all over it as an after thought was a bit overpowering. we had a mix of jollof /stir fried rice for mains, they come with a choice of chicken beef or fish stew on the side, the beef was nice but a friend had the chicken and it was tuff and dry. Fried rice was also surprisingly tasteless but good portions. The place has a good atmosphere, one minor complaint would be to turn the music down a decimal or 2, but afro beats were cool to hear in the background. Didn't stay for desert, there wasn't much to choose from. Between x4 of us we spent c.£20p/h which wasn't bad at all for drink starter and main.

We ate here as we were staying in the Eurotraveler hotel just a few doors up the road. The restaurant is predominantly African/Nigerian food. The waitress was really friendly and helpful and the food portions were large and well prepared. I had Efo Egusi soup which was served as a sort of puree of spinach chillies and grated melon seed with catfish and a big ball of powdered yam. My wife had beans, steamed plantain and a chilli omelette. The restaurant has a takeaway section in the building next door, both the restaurant and the takeaway were busy the whole time we were there. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone, we really enjoyed the meal.

He pedido pescado egusi.

Went in for the set menu. Changed my life. Unreal food. Super rich (and a tiny bit too salty) but left feeling very satisfied. Onglet steak was next level, as was the scallop ravioli, the brioche bread for starters I could have eaten four of them, and the dogs to finish were dreamy. Highly highly recommend. Shout out to the very friendly staff too.. 10/10 Ned ;)
