Prems Dhaba in Derby

I reviewed this place back in November 2020 as the food back then truly was amazing. It just goes to show how things can change. Maybe there is a different chef these days or the business has changed hands. Our latest curry takeaways were watery and over-salted. The rice and naan were ok. The best bit was the free piece of wire I got in my curry. Looks like it came off a metal scourer. At least they've been scrubbing their saucepans I suppose. As my junior school teacher used to write in my school report........"has lots of potential but must try harder."

Why is 2022 do you not accept cards and can’t answer phone!? No worries loads of other takeaways do . Just backwards and bad service

Extremely disappointed.. and would urge you not to order unless you want to eat something that is entirely processed and clearly not cooked on order. So I ordered 3 popadoms and pickle tray and also a Chicken tikka , rice and naan. With the order of a pickle tray - they gave me an out of date and “off” yoghurt dip and an onions mixed dip which were sitting in half a pot of slurry. I then when onto my main - a curry that they say they exceed in yet to find a piece of WOOD in my curry !! WTF?????? Do not order from these guys! Photos to prove !!! Sadly.. this will be going further.

First time we have tried this takeaway. Food arrived lovely and hot. Ordered the two set menu's 1 and 2. The starters were lovely, onion bhaji's and chicken tikka. The only issue was there was only one very small bag of salad for all 3 starters which was not even near enough for three starters so I presumed this was over looked! The 2 curries from the set meal 2 were chicken tikka and plain chicken curry, these were lovely and tasty. However the lamb balti was awful, it was tasteless and the meat was in tiny pieces and was horrid!! I really don't know how to describe it!! Not very nice at all, was such a let down!! This was my only issue but don't think we will be ordering from them again.

Curry and kebab We ordered from here as I love a curry and mrs isnt as keen and loves kebab instead And these lot do both. The curry was lovely very tasty and kebab was spot on aswell. Can’t fault it will be making it a regular for us from now on. Give the masala fries a go they were cracking!

Ordered food from Prems Dhaba a few times now and it never fails to impress me. £5.45 for a main course (usually have Chicken Rogan Josh, Dupiaza or Patia) very reasonable and the food is amazing. Always arrives within the time they say and it arrives hot. I lived in Birmingham as a student in the 80's and have had good and bad curries. I know my ruby murrays and Prems Dhaba is THE BEST Indian takeaway in Derby. The food is better than most of the food available in Indian restaurants locally and I've been to nearly all of them. Prems Dhaba also do kebabs. Not the cheapest in Derby but if you want a great kebab defo get it from here. Twice I've had the lamb tikka donner mixed kebab. The lambs melts in the mouth. Lovely fresh salad with it. My son is driving over to Derby from Nottingham tonight before lockdown and I'm ordering in babbas for all of us. I'm salivating already. I love this take away and they deliver too. Great food, good quality and extremely tasty. They specialise in Indian food but also do pizzas and kebabs etc. Being a veggie who hates coriander they cook my dishes without it and it’s proper veg in there too but frozen stuff. I’d recommend this place to anyone who likes good quality Indian food.

Best curry deal in derby love it

Recommended by a friend and was not impressed at all, then recommended the place I use to my friend and he now uses them.

Man on phone extremely rude. Rang me to 'tell me off' about selecting one of the deal options for wine on their page that I should've somehow known doesn't exist and demand 2.00 extra from me and accused me of 'ordering it a few times'. Edit YOUR own business page, why expect a customer to know your deals are accidentally featured? Ridiculous.

Really tasty food quick delivery I would order again

Fantastic. Tried somewhere new this time and I'm well chuffed. Food was piping hot and full of flavour. Great flavour and portion size is good too. Definitely order from here again

Delivery and service was fast but, being used to quality curries from the likes of Karahi King this was by far the worst. The only reason I ordered from here was because of the ratings but, if you know a good curry this was not it for me and I had a lamb madras it wasn't even hot. Anyway it arrived quickly and service was okay but, definitely wouldn't order from here again.

Use these guys regularly, all dishes are fab, good sized portions - delivery & takeaway service is excellent, friendly staff

Very quick..... Curry was delicious and of a decent restaurant standard..... The rice was really light..... Didn't feel like a heavy meal like some places. Will be back

The flavours in the curry is top notch and enjoyable. I would highly recommend ordering from here rather than some of the apparent high end Indians that are mediocre in my opinion

Food was delivered over an hour and a half after ordering. Not a cheap meal but was very poor quality.

Already ordered again since food is always red hot and most of the time there on time they forgot something in my order i called and it was resolved straight the way fantastic customer service definately one of my favourites

Ordered for the first time tonight with some mates. Food was absolutely first class. The only grumble id have was the kebab for a large wasn't very large. The chips were lovely but due to the distance it had to come they were a bit warm rather than hot. Will deffo order again though. 👍🏼

First time superb first class in everyway

Can't fault the quality of the food and speed of delivery; my only complaint is that I ordered a vindaloo and expected it to least have a kick to it, but it was like eating tomato soup with bits of chicken. I didn't even break a sweat. The vindaloo is advertised as being very hot but that was a 'mild' disappointment.

food took 90 mins to arrive, came cold, and order was wrong.....when i called to complain the lady wouldn't offer a solution nor correct the order which they got wrong.....poor service and unhappy

Always order from these. Normally really nice and fresh. However I ordered the prems special kebab tonight. Cost nearly £7 and it was the smallest portion iv ever had. It was smaller than a small. Had about 8 pieces of meat on it. Il treat this as a one off cos like I say it's normally great.

Tandoori chicken was very nice but naan was very soggy and samosa pastry very heavy. Mixed kebab okay. Took longer to arrive than site suggested.

I have enjoyed many meals perms has cooked up for me. My family and I combined use prems a minimum two even three times a week. I can't take the fact that they're for sure one of the best Indians in Derby. Sadly on this occasion the delivery driver was close to 15 minutes late then the time given. He was perms delivery driver, and he was very worked up and spoke with unacceptable language also told me to order from another place next time. My neighbours came over to ask who he was he wheel spins and speeds off.

Great service with lots on the menu, fast delivery time, always friendly. The only thing I would say is the curries are always 'watery' when served.

Chicken was rock hard and made for a very unpleasant curry. Onion bhaji was delicious though.

Half hour late. Forgot items off our order and lady on phone blaming just eat for the service... Food was ok when it was finally delivered, portion sizes were extremely small. Overall very disappointed because the other reviews were very good. Perhaps just a one off...

Great food -a lot better then more expensive takeaway's I have tried- the vegetable bhuna was delicious and the naan bread was fragrant and fresh. The deals and offers are great value for money- the portions are big :-D highly recommend and will order again

Salad would b ordered separately next time soggy in kebab n chicken needed cooking more apart from that it was good.

Standards have really dropped. Waited almost 2 hours to have food delivered. The chicken tikka vindaloo was inedible. Time to go elsewhere.

Delicious as always although the pizza was rather tasteless.. Indian food was lovely though.

Ridiculous ! They Forgot everything on our order we spent around £30-£40 so you'd think they'd get it right n keep it warm at least ! The Food itself wasn't awful but as it wasn't very warm when arrived it wasn't enjoyable it also took 1 and half hours to deliver ! Poor service won't be using again

Recommended by a colleague and this did not disappoint. We had the fish masala and paneer kebabs and these were fabulous. Would have ordered again the day after but had to stop myself ...
