Premier Inn Wigan North (M6 Jct 27) hotel in Wigan

I complained to reception at 6.30am on 2nd February about the noise that had been coming from the radiator all night, receptionist took my room number , listened to my recording of said noise and was startled to hear it , she said she would log it on the system and told me to complain regarding the sleep guarantee, I was a lone traveller and would not have felt safe going downstairs to report it so late at night , I went downstairs at 6.30 on the 2nd. I have just spoke to customer services who stated no log had been posted on the system and that because I didn’t use my mobile to ring reception or go downstairs there was nothing they could do . I was on the top floor and no way would I walk down the stairs , the noise started at approximately 11.30 pm from their radiator, apparently they could have got maintenance to fix it or move me rooms , so no refund or apology and didn’t even seem to grasp that as a lone female guest I would have felt unsafe going out of my room on my own so late at night , have you tried to ring premier to get to speak to the hotel well I have on other previous occasion's when trying to book a hotel so didn’t think to ring them , BUT apparently that’s why I should have done to get a full or part refund under their guarantee of a good nights sleep , receptionist polite enough but hasn’t left notes to state how early I went down or how bad the noise was was, So I have paid £68 for the privilege of listening to a noisy radiator all night . Absolutely disgusting, I book rooms for business on behalf of the company I work for and will not be doing so again . It would be Travelodge for future bookings. A Johnson Room 31

Amazing service, comfy bed and really clean

Stayed again here on nights out last few times Only downfall, they,d taken out some plug sockets.. and the duvets were far too warm for July. Plus you don't even get breakfast for the price.. which is a shame..Receptionists/ staff are nice and pleasant., plus the rooms are nice clean,and comfortable and you get a good night's sleep as its peaceful...Would stay here again as I have in the past .. My mate has a restaurant in the town ..which is fab..👌

Don't bother, rooms are the most outdated I've stayed in for many years, booked a twin room, the single bed wasnt made up either, first time I've had a physical key to open a door for years also. I stay in premier inn nationwide, this is the oldest I've seen for a long time. The hungry horse next door is SHUT for refurbishment, apparently there's a pub a short walk, can't be bothered tbh, pizza delivery it is. it's a pity the app doesn't make more of an effort to make this closure more noticeable, the car park is also tiny. Canceling tomorrow's stay, will make a note to not return.

STAFF ARE AMAZING! ESPECIALLY RECEPTIONISTS!! 👏 Hotel is a little dated and it shows and does affect your stay here ☹️ When I stayed, the restaurant was closed for refurbishment - I didn't have any advance warning of this but fortunately for me, I had some snacks with me 😋

Really appreciated this little Premier Inn close to the M6, but not too close. Comfortable and quiet. The best thing was the warm welcome, hospitality and helpfulness of the staff. Thank you for having us. Recommended.

Rooms are a bit dated and the in room was a written explanation stating price was lower than more modern P Inns for this reason, it was clean but bath/shower were so small. Staff member on arrival was pleasant but in the morning not so much. Took advantage of meal deal but prices were reasonable enough so no necessarily an advantage. Evening meal nice but breakfast not so much. Half way point for our journey to Scotland so good location but would probably look elsewhere if travelling this way again.

This prem is what you might call upon when the situation is a "needs must". It's pretty much all business and no play. It gets the job done at a good standard but there's no bells and whistles anywhere. The bed was probably the best thing about our stay which was 10/10 comfort. Just to clarify what I mean, the building interior has had a lack of flair, no artwork or fancy trims, it's kept in the past somewhat with 🔑 doors and colouring. The 📺 supplied wasn't entirely sharp enough, I was fiddling with the settings but still couldn't find that sweet spot therefore I just couldn't relax completely watching it. It's not a deal breaker here the prem does a great job at being what you need. Just bring extra milk for the room if you like a brew as you might not see any staff members around for extended periods.

I stayed here last night again & have been staying at this premier Inn a few times a year for past 5year all staff very warm & welcoming every time I visit but especially David the very happy go lucky man always chatty, friendly & has a great memory as he remembers me & my family that I visit every time I come down. Every hotel should have a David such a genuinely all round great guy, hope you feel better soon David I was sorry to see you had an accident last night but it was really good to see you again Mary

Does what it says on the tin. Not the best premier I've stayed at but still does the job.

I stayed here for two nights. It actually has physical keys rather than cards, which is a nice trip back into olden times.

Very clean budget hotel, close to the M6. I am rating this 2 stars due to the shockingly throttled wifi of 1Mbps download, and 500kbps upload, by Virgin Media / Wifi. In 2024 there is no need for that level of early 2000s ADSL speed. Then the company suggest I upgrade to a faster service for an additional cost! Very few guests in the hotel, hence no need to throttle to that level of literally 2001 ADSL speeds! Ruined the whole experience, of what is a nice budget hotel. The wifi is so shocking now reduced my rating to 1 star! Took 6 hours to download a monthly Windows patch update!

Clean, quiet and very comfortable. Views are great in the back rooms. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Had a great warm welcome from friendly staff. Easy check in no waiting. Room was as expected not as modern as some Premier inns. But overall still warm and comfy. Restaurant was good for evening meal and breakfast.
