The hotel was nice enough, just as you'd expect from a Premier Inn, comfy beds, clean & tidy, nice aircon in summer etc, but the staff on reception was not very helpful at all, she didn't mention anything about the amenities available, nor about breakfast for the following morning, she didn't even point us in the direction of our rooms, we were simply left to work it out ourselves using the signage. There was a good choice of breakfast and it was a 'help-yourself' arrangement from a hot plate (bain marie) setup, breakfast was served from 6:30 and it was nice when it was freshly cooked but not sure what it would've been like if you arrived later for breakfast. Parking is extortionate but there are cheaper alternatives in close proximity, however those other carparks look a bit rough, in fact the whole area surrounding the hotel looked a bit rough, and I was a little worried about the safety of my car in the 'other' carpark overnight! Overall an OK hotel, it served it's purpose, but improvements on the meet and greet service are needed I think.

Pros: The short lady serving me at Dinner time was lovely and friendly. Cons: Room is very very basic, looks old and run down, paint coming off the wall. Limited air con. Looking at the Biffa bins for a view. Food was very elementary. The hotel staff, were very fed up and unenthusiastic, drained my soul. The company as a whole, more than this individual hotel, is there to rip you off. Close your eyes and put yourself in my position. You have to travel half the country to fix your car, you had to be there for 7am and so had to leave home at 3am. You only finished work the night before at Midnight because they refused your annual leave and so are running on 2 hours sleep. You walk from the garage to the hotel which is a 10 mile round trip (Can’t afford anything like a taxi due to the car taking all my money) and when told by the hotel that there are rooms READY, but you’ll have to pay £15 extra for early access. What the hell! It’s pressing buttons and assigning me a room. On top of the near £100 for the night and the extra £26 for Breakfast. Anyway, the car is then broken beyond repair and I can’t drive it home, so now I have to leave at 7am to get the train home (Another cost). I get to the Breakfast area at 6:35, I can see some food out on display, but are told nope, 7am for breakfast on weekends, I have to wait. No refund, no care from the staff to individualise an experience. No offer to take a bag and grab what I can. Just “Bye bye”. Not their fault, it is my fault for having a hectic couple of days. However the freedom of power and training staff have to help needs improving. This is the McHotel of hospitality. Not great quality but after you add it all up, becomes expensive.

They charge you every time you go in and out the car park. Happy to pay a daily fee but a complete rip off for a guest if you want to come and go a few time in one day.

Nice central location for a Premier Inn, opposite car park and within easy walk of town centre and park. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to be helpful, friendly and kind, which is much appreciated. I arrived when they were handling a challenging incident with a guest in a very professional manner, going above and beyond for other guests. Rooms were typical high standards of Premier Inn and breakfast was really good.

Shocking stay and nasty food. On check in place was deserted but after 20 mins of pressing buzzer 2 staff came out. No greeting or info about stay just here are your cards thanks. Went to dinner at restaurant greeting was just an alright can I help you. We had to find our way to our own table which was sticky dirty and dusted with salt.sold out of steak Ordered food and about 25 mins later it arrived. Overcooked burnt goujons and wings in the most disgusting sauce. Sugar vinager and dash of ketchup and tried to tell me it was bbq. The pie for main was OK but chips over cooked, gamon came without steak knife and the tort was bad for dessert no toffee in the toffee sundae just choc sauce. Service really bad staff hid around corner drinking coffee. Customers had to shout across restaurant for service and drinks. 6 people in restaurant and 2 staff. Was painful to watch. Breakfast was totaly different service from Danny was very different. He should be staff trainer. Friendly efficient welcoming. Rooms could do with more teabags milk etc enough for 1 cup each is not enough. electric card socket haning out of wall Won't return to any Premier inn ever or any of thier food outlets. Def some training sacking and butt kicking neededalso cupple next to us boy of 18 and girl we believe under16 were both served alcohol even though only the boy had ID the girl was talking about school so we expect under 16 but was served two glasses of wine....

Very limited car parking. Council one over the road is not secure. The night I stayed two vehicles were broken into , one being a van now minus its tools. Good place to stay if you haven't a vehicle. If you have give it a miss.

The place was like other Premier Inn's, the room and bed were clean and comfortable. The staff were as usual good and helpful. The location is on a busy street so you have to try and get into their carpark which is very small, they do tell you there's limited parking and using the council carpark which is literally just the other side of a fence might be needed. I would recommend using the council carpark for 2 reasons, one it's as secure as the hotel carpark, two it will be cheaper, and assuming the hotel carpark machines work to allow you to pay you won't have the hassle of downloading apps or using dodgy QR codes to try and pay your parking fee.

Stayed there again with partner and rooms are always clean and staff always friendly and helpful. We also had breakfast there which was lovely and the buffet style hot option is much better than previous ordering style.

Room was spotless and the staff are very helpful.. The only problem l have is the fact you cannot open a window to let in fresh air. Personally l would not like to stay here in the summer months.

Good breakfast that was hot unlike some premier inns where the cooked breakfasts are cold. Restaurant closed one night v early which was a disappointment. Had to ask for room cleans daily which is an odd policy as never experienced that elsewhere.....car parking was exhorbitant at £10 per night and the car park on the side is just £3.50....only has one camera mind.....why no deal has been reached is beyond me as elsewhere car parking at PI is usually free or less.....

Best stay in a premier inn for ages. Lovely quiet room on the 4th floor . It makes a difference not to have people above you going to the bathroom and moving around when you want to go to sleep. The restaurant was more spacious than others I have visited and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast . Freshly made porridge and fried eggs were soft and yolky. Nothing was too much trouble. Pleasant situation and within walking distance of the station and the shopping centre.

Service and the staff helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the parking. £8.00 per visit. On one occasion the stay was 40 minutes. Still cost £8.00. Then the next £8.00 begins .think it's over the top. My advice for visitors is use the council parking spaces.

This was my second visit to Wigan premier inn and again it didnt disappoint. I stayed this time with my family and the staff were so helpful and friendly especially Will who went above and beyond to help us. Our room was clean and comfortable and the location is great for walking into the town centre. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Wigan. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Stayed here 1 night whilst at a gig in town. The room was very clean and the air con kept the room nice and cool. Big shout out to Will whom I spoke to after we had left as my husband had forgot our charging cables and plug in the room as we had a very early check out as work commitments the next day and so were rushing. He mailed the items back to us which was absolutely fab and really helped us out with excellent customer service and going that extra mile. Thank you very much would definitely recommend this hotel.

Unbelievably expensive - £160 for a room on a Tuesday night! (for context I paid £190 for a 4 star Hilton in Westminster) - I guess it’s due to lack of competition in Wigan unless you want to stay above a pub. Room smelt of smoke and had wall connections for the 1990’s (who travels with a Scart cable).

When arriving the rooms were not ready. Staff calling in. We hired out two rooms and when getting them they were on two different floors and not next door like we asked when booking. The view out of one room was not great. When looking at the bathroom it was not clean black mould round the taps and shower head. Parking was not free £6 for 20hrs parking. Pay every time you moved The town was nice to walk round.

Stayed here before and that is why we used it again. Gone downhill slightly with the cleanliness and a little run down on the facilities. Fire alarm went off at 2am which was a bit of a shock but turned off after 5 or 6 seconds. Was never given an explanation why. When we went yo breakfast we were told it would be table service rather than buffett but loads of familes came at once and they changed to a buffet which we had to wait 15 mins for the chef to sort.
