It did its job of a bed for the night but that's about it. Now I know these places are cheap so we knew it was going to be basic. However basic to me still means tidy, clean, fresh and what you've booked is correct. To start with after trailing as far away from the reception as possible to find our room we could not access our room with the key cards given. So we had a trail back to the reception to get another one. We then entered the room to find it was a twin when what was booked was meant to be a double. To be fair the lady at reception was very good and helpful. However, she was very confused herself with what room we were meant to be in because the computer said one room and the bit of paper printed off earlier with our booking details had a different room on it. Eventually, we moved to a double which was in a different building and was so obviously the older building. The foisty smell and the quality of everything was shocking. The room smelt damp as soon as we walked in, the soap dispenser was dirty, broken and leaking, and the towel rail was horrendously rusty with a towel we were meant to use hung on it! Plus we only had one towel so that meant another trip to the reception. Thankfully, we weren't there to spend time in the room so rushed out to a party we had travelled there for but I can honestly say we will not be staying here again unless some improvements are made. That's if we'd be able to find it again anyway as there is no lighting up outside to show it is a premiere inn.

Excellent service and clean, comfortable room. Idea base for travelling into lakes or Whitehaven area. Easy access to motorway.

It's a premier inn. It does what it says on the tin. Attached pub is decent with decent food, though portion sizes could be better.

A lovely hotel in a delightful setting with great service. Wonderful food at a very reasonable price. A gorgeously comfortable bed, a great shower and bath.

I have used this hotel for some years now, and initially, it wasn't bad, but over the last year, it has drastically gone downhill. The systems and wifi constantly go down, the rooms are not cleaned properly, I had blood stains on the spare softer pillows, and when I complained, the receptionist couldn't care less. The shower head was leaking and spraying water sideways. The window handle was broken. The restraunt is an absolute shambles.. late opening, no staff, shortened menus, dirty, and constantly have staff shortages. I'm surprised it is still running, to be honest. I would look elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

The friendly, welcoming staff could not possibly have been more helpful. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We made a few requests, which were met with a smile and were responded to immediately. The hotel's location is also a huge plus being just out of town and a few hundred yards from the A595 making touring very easy and straightforward.

Really recommend for short trip. The location is very good, close to Whitehaven. Room was cleaned and staff was nice. That's all we expected.

Very dissatisfied pre booked for 4 places plus a high chair , on entering a notice was displayed as to what was not available on the menu , most of the menu which they already know is popular was not available , on booking I was never informed of any of this , if it wasn't for the fact my two grandsons were so happy to be out together and us as a family i would have walked out , and as we were walking in a family was walking out , the whole place was nearly empty, we had to choose alternatives which were really not up to scratch , also the place is definately not clean , my grandson said the gents toilet was dirty and he's only 6 yr old , I paid our bill £48 , certainly will not be coming back

Perfect Premier Inn if you are visiting the Lake District. I booked this hotel only 2 days in advance and it only cost £70. The rooms themselves are very clean. The surroundings are very quiet but also very close to Whitehaven town centre. Also close to the seaside. Staff was very helpful. Highly recommended.

As usual with our experience of Premier Inns Whitehaven did not disappoint. Great location and the rooms were spotless, and very quiet. Breakfast was spot on and all of the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Quite a way out of the town. Reception took 50 minutes to check me in as they had IT problems.

Grubby, unclean and unkempt. The place is tired and smells. The bathroom hasn’t been cleaned, the toilet was disgusting, the seat was soiled and so was the pot itself. Not your typical Premier Inn. Full of contractors in high viz clothes in restaurant. A chap dressed in PJs and dressing gown in restaurant for evening meal - not a good look! Never again!

I booked my stay through my employer. The booking included breakfast ...however the hotel authorities claimed it was not the case and I had to pay. It later turned out that I was right as I'd paid for my breakfast with my booking. A proper communication could have avoided the confusion.

Honestly I've been to some decent places, between the absolute wordlie I was with and then Rebecca who we were lucky enough to serve us, food was absolutely unreal can't knock that in the slightest but Rebecca's genuine service from the off / personality is the reason I'll not think of anywhere else next time I'm back. Food amazing but I never leave reviews usually she deserves every second of praise. See you soon wor Becca x

Up there with one of the worst special chow mein dishes I have had. Lots of overcooked meat, a couple of mushrooms with a few bits of onion but no vegetables. Never going there again.
