Fantastic base to explore the area and a quick hop to Cambridge and the brilliant Park and Ride service.The hotel is very clean and very friendly.We have stayed here many times and can heartily reccomend it, plus there is a great supermarket just opposite for all your supplies.

Rooms are ok except if you need heat seems they control it cuts off at night and when ever you are not in room then takes about 20 minutes to start again. Forget towels our room had one bath and one hand. Showers are extremely slippery. If you need a rubber mat you have to request one. Hopefully you haven’t fallen and broke your back. Last time staying here for me. Oh if you need assistance it’s very difficult to find someone. Have to knock on doors in lobby then they look at you in disgust like what do you want.

The Street
Travelling from Yorkshire to fly out of Stanstead on our annual holiday we were looking for somewhere to enjoy a nice relaxing meal before checking in. We made a reservation at the Pig and Truffle and we were very impressed with our experience. The staff were extremely accommodating and despite a quiet day, due to the England final we were catered for and cared for with a very impressive meal that was truly delicious. Thank you ever so much for a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a lovely setting with excellent service.

Waterside Butts Green, Clavering, Saffron Walden CB11 4RT EnglandHaving enjoyed several visits here in the past, sadly I shall not be returning. Whilst waiting for my friend to arrive the owner confronted me in the middle of the cafe as he said I shouldn't be parked where I was and that I had run over one of his cones in the car park (I had spoken to a member of staff on arrival who told me he didn't know what the cones were there for and I was fine to park there) I offered to pay for the damaged cones and he said quite aggressively "no, just move your car". I felt very humiliated, especially as I was on my own and this was in front of other customers. Needless to say I moved my car and went elsewhere.

Ibbetson's Down Hall Country House HotelWe had a good time at the restaurant, nestled away from wedding festivities elsewhere on the grounds. The wait staff were both friendly and attentive. The cream tea was good and we were indulged without the usual reservations requirement which was appreciated. Our sandwiches were fresh with tasty fillings and the scones warm and generously sized. However for the price we felt the trio of desserts was incredibly basic. A real shame since the rest was so enjoyable.
