Reception staff were helpful and lots of free parking available. Located opposite a Tesco for any supplies and fuel. Room cleanliness left a lot to be desired, several surfaces were dirty, along with multiple hairs around the bath. Rooms were also very stuffy in January with no opening windows, the air conditioning didn't seem to have any impact

This used to be a good hotel. Stayed many times, never again. Came on a meal deal and wanted a colleague to join me for dinner to be told they couldn't accommodate him due to a large party booking in the restaurant. Discovered that the once OK Beefeater has been taken over by the hotel so I got a refund on the meal deal and went out to eat. On returning my colleague and I went into the bar for a drink. The large party was 12 people and the place was empty aside from them. Their food looked woeful. The bar was staffed by kids and the "chef" in charge of the microwave dinners couldn't have looked more miserable if he tried. Most of the beers and lagers were unavailable. Went to my Premier + room, it was freezing in there. The heater didn't work and the bed had a very saggy mattress. Was tired so got my head down anyway. I wasn't expecting much better at breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Not good at all, ended up having a tea and croissant then left. Won't be back. Premier Inn is taking over a lot of thses pubs in their grounds and ruining them, why, I have no idea. Shame. Independent hotels from now on for me.

Visiting a friend in Chudleigh and needing to stay just one night, this was ideal. We usually stay in Premier Inns and this time were given a free breakfast. So the stay was a bargain £51. Our room overlooked the racecourse but there was no racing and the weather was grey! It's a cross over time in the restaurant : Beefeater has gone and Thyme has not yet begun. We didn't eat dinner there but enjoyed our breakfast, though a decent wholemeal bread would have been appreciated, plus rooibos tea. But the bed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate, though the bath was uber deep and slippery.

Terrible. The one star is for the very pleasant and cheerful staff. Premier Inn should be ashamed that they have their staff endure working in this scruffy, dirty, and very poorly maintained establishment. The poor people must get complaints from guests daily. If you’re going to serve food at least make it edible. Urgently needs an entire refurbishment. Until this happens stay elsewhere.

Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Reception staff friendly. Breakfast was an absolute disaster, food was terrible, the young staff need training in customer service and how to run an eatery. Stayed at Newquay Quintrell Premier Inn the previous night where breakfast and service was perfect.

Room - stayed premier plus here, room was OK definitely not the cleanest with multiple marks on the bed and floor. Reception staff were lovely. Restaurant- the worst premier inn restaurant service I’ve ever seen. Very unclean with clearly dirty cutlery and glasses, took 5 minutes to be noticed and seated and then 15 minutes to have my order taken. Very basic order took 20 minutes to come out ( breakfast). Wait staff seemed to not have a clue and I watched one waiter spill someone’s cup of tea whilst walking past and say “oh it’s ok” as if the customer was at fault. Never been more frustrated in a restaurant and could see a lot of annoyed faces around the place.

Needs a refresh. Typical Premier Inn room. Carpet was dirty, Desk Vinyl covering was peeled away in places. Bathroom had chipped tiles and mould in places. Beefeater now closed. Chef didn't turn up one morning so no cooked breakfast.

Premium rooms very good. Sented air in corridor, loved the bathroom with rain shower and loved the bergamot & lavender body wash. Plenty of mirrors, lots of beverage choice including Nespresso machine & pods. Comfy bed and pillow choice. Booked for breakfast, service was good and staff worked hard, but, with only 1 chef it took an hour to get our cooked breakfast even though we booked well in advance the staffing ratio seemed wrong some how and some people left after getting fed up waiting. Might have booked in for evening meal but didn't seem to be open. Perhaps Beefeater may lease out its restaurants as they certainly need more TLC to keep them running which the chain isn't offering in the present climate.

Room was nice as always, had the meal deal and was disappointed with the evening meal and breakfast, the buffet cooked breakfast had been out far to long with very dry black pudding, mushrooms and rock hard fried eggs. Was replenished soon after i took my breakfast but too late for me. Staff were freindly and efficient and we received a complimentry drink after evening meal. Lounge area by bar in desperate need of some new furniture, this was tired and dirty.

Went in this evening for some tea and there was a young girl behind the counter. Her customer service was outstanding. I can't fault her. I had large cod which was delicious and chips which were standard (not a bad thing) my partner had Jumbo battered sausage which was nice. The highlight though was definitely the customer service from the young lady phenomenal 👍

Fabulous hotel, some of the rooms have been renewed and amazing views from our room over the garden and down to the sea. The hotel is situated only a 15/20min walk from the coast and set within beautiful gardens.

How dose Tesco justify a 12% increase on Mateus Rose wine? In December 2024 £6.00 a bottle now £6.75 a bottle!!!!!! Have I missed hyperinflation? Has the price of oil gone bazzerk? Has the war in Ukraine affected Portugal? Or is it Tescos greed? Just asking! Perhaps Tescos can explain why.
