Staying at Premier Inn with work During the first week, everything went well. I did not book a meal deal, so I paid as I went and bought what I wanted. This week, however, has been a bit disappointing. On arrival, I was asked to provide my nationality at reception, which has never happened before despite frequently staying at Premier Inns due to my work being far from home. Additionally, on two occasions, I was served my starter and main course at the same time. It's common knowledge that the starter should be served first, allowing the customer to finish before bringing out the main course. I ordered mixed grill and it was served without eggs, however the table next to me ordered the same and theirs came with eggs I always request a salad instead of chips, but the salads have not been fresh. On one occasion, I was served a salad with a dressing that looked very unappetizing. I would rate the restaurant 2 stars for now. On a positive note, I like my room. I've had the same room for two weeks in a row. It's very clean, and I have a fan to keep cool in this hot weather.

Having stayed in several different hotels recently, I was particularly impressed by the staff at Premier Inn Newcastle Under Lyme. From reception to waiting staff and house keeping, everyone was cheerful polite and helpful. A special mention to Prince for making the beds properly !!

Having stayed here before more than once, I've got to say we will not be coming back or using premier inn again. After a broken nights sleep & the mattress being not comfortable, a hot 22 degrees room so we had the window open as it was stuffy, it poured it down with rain in the early hours, which is not premier inns fault, but the rain hopper outside the window was full of plant growth, so the gutter was full & it was like being in a waterfall, which is down to poor maintenance of the exterior. We reported it to reception the next morning, after 1st trying to get past carpet fitters blocking the doorway leading to the lift, the stench of spray glue in the corridor was overpowering. Reception said they could see we were tired & would make a report on the computer & gave us a sorry card for not having a good nights sleep & that someone would ring from customer service, reception did change our room, & we had 1 nights sleep out of 2 paid for. I filled in a online form when we got home & have heard nothing from customer service & its nearly a fortnight now. If they can't be bothered to respond by now, I don't see why we should chase after them. The tables in the brewers Fayre are sticky as other reviews have said, some staff stand chatting to each other, ignoring that your there, & we saw people sending food back to the kitchen. My other review on TripAdvisor was that it was very good when weve stayed before, but we are voting with our feet & money & will spend it where we receive customer service, not broken promises of a good nights sleep. Standard Premier Inn hotel, you know what you're getting and this one was clean and relatively comfortable. The rooms do get very warm as mentioned by other reviewers, and I do wish air con was available. Rooms on first and second floor are incredibly noisy with people stomping around upstairs, honestly it's louder than hearing someone walk around upstairs in my own house. Would recommend top floor if possible. Breakfast was poor, stale bread and very little choice in the "continental" section, cooked items were either under or over cooked. Cleaning was not adequate with dirt and a build up of dust everywhere, particularly around coffee machine, greasy tables and utensils with old food still stuck to them. Found a used yoghurt lid inside the first "clean" cup I went to use. Tried twice to make a coffee and ended up with grey water as there was something wrong with the machine. Pointed it out to the staff who literally said I was wrong and the machine was fine despite me showing her the aforementioned grey water in the cup. Of course when i used it in front of her it started working ok, I tried to make a joke about it and she just scowled at me and walked off. Restaurant staff really couldn't care less and had an unpleasant attitude about them (less so the girl that was on the second day). Overall ok hotel but wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

Great service from the staff, clean and warm. No air conditioning which really suits my wife who has asthma. Opening the window works well.

Children running about the hallways stamping and screaming from 9pm til around 10:30pm. Not ideal when some people have to be up and out by 6:30am

We stayed here as it was close to Waterworld. The rooms were as you would expect from a premier inn but the lady on the desk went above and beyond when finding out it was my son and daughters birthday. She gave them packets of haribo and it made their day. We had breakfast the next day and it was good. Staff were constantly refilling and all very friendly.

I tried a Sunday lunch. It was really quite nice, although a too much broccoli. Beef, potatoes, carrot and parsnip plus cauliflower cheese were tasty. I have tried weekday menus, such as sausage and mash, and they are not as tasty as the Sunday lunch I experienced. I once had trifle which tasted like rhubarb, which I wasn't keen on. The sausage seemed cheap. The restaurant is a good size, and accessible for disabled people and equipment such as wheelchairs. It is also clean and attractive. However, they do close early for food. Not a tea time venue.

We've just had a lovely meal in The Arch. They atmosphere was very friendly and warm. Although busy their was an excellent flow and the service was very warm and the staff were brilliant, so helpful nothing was too much trouble As for the food it was excellent! It was cooked beautifully and the duck just melted in your mouth Will definitely be returning. Good value for money too.
