Standard but somewhat dated premier inn. Major issue with temperature in the rooms. Windows only open an inch for safety reasons and no air conditioning. Far hotter in the rooms than outside... Definitely avoid in summer, even on an overcast day in May it was 26+ degrees in our room.

Visiting family for Christmas rang ahead as needed to add an extra room on the day of arrival. Staff were lovely and said they had space and I could pay on arrival for extra room or book online which would be cheaper she took my name as I said I’d book online and she said she would keep an eye out for booking and put the extra room next to ours. Rooms were immaculate and everything we needed for a quick visit. Staff are so friendly and polite it’s great staying I the north all so friendly!

Me and my partner stayed here over the Christmas time. the check in process was seamless and the staff were lovely and friendly and were genuinely interested in us and our stay. We had previously booked our breakfast when we had booked but on reception they offered us the option to upgrade to the meal deal and for only £26.99 for 2 courses a drink and breakfast next day we thought this was a bargain. The room itself was spotlessly clean, could not fault it at all! The receptionists were happy to help with anything we needed and had left a little Christmas card and some biscuits in the room for us. This is definitely our go to premier Inn as it's such a warm, friendly place.

Clean and tidy Premier Inn with helpful staff. Rooms are a good size and well maintained. Looks a bit behind the times in furnishings but good value for money. Pity about the pub where you’re expected to eat as the service there is dreadful.

Dated hotel which has been upgraded in parts with Brewers Fayre next door. Room stank of damp and mould, which we believe was coming from bathroom. The walls and ceilings are very thin and so noisy guests cluttering around until 2am prevented sleep. Bed is not comfortable, as they no longer do hypnos. Pillows were rock hard and smelly. Bought meal deal which was of little value. Receptionist didn't give correct receipt so had to demonstrate how many meals we had purchased as receipt only showed one. If you stay here don't bother with deals and get an upstairs room.

Just back from staying 2 nights at this hotel, room was fine, but the restaurant is something else, we booked breakfast for the 2 day that we stayed, cooked breakfast was cold even after they topped it up from the kitchen both me and my partner left it. Then we booked a table for an evening meal, when we got to the restaurant you had to find your own table then go to the bar and order your meal, we found a table but when I went to order there was a que with about 15 people in front of me who were ordering there meals and drinks it took for ever, then when I eventually made it to the front of the que and ordered I was told there would be a 35 minute wait for our food to arrive, anyway I got a drink each and sat at the table waiting for our food to arrive 50 minutes later it appeared, after our main course I ordered 2 ice-cream Sundae's witch took 20 to arrive and I wish they hadn't you could chew the ice-cream it had a really funny texture think it had been defrosted and then frozen again both of us ate half of it and left the rest, oh and the fried eggs the first morning were like eating rubber don't know what the did to them to get them like that. I would stay again at hotel but wouldn't use the restaurant it was total garbage and a joke.

Was welcomed politely, check in was smooth apart from the fact that my allowance wasn’t showing up in their system. Room was clean, requested for an Iron and I was given. Quick access to the restaurant close by for food where they use for their breakfast also. Good location for me as it was close by the office and McDs!

A warm and friendly welcome from the staff, nothing was any trouble. The room was great, plenty of room, very clean, towels in the bathroom with plenty of soap and shampoo. A hairdryer in the room, tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was comfy, the TV was good and plenty of plugs to use. Breakfast and Tea can be booked in advance over the road at the Brewers Fayre. The breakfast was a buffet style so help yourself to juice, coffee, tea, sausages, hash browns, bacon, beans, eggs, toast, pastries, cereals and porridge.

Was a typical Premier Inn - fairly basic but good. On edge of Durham so need a vehicle to get about - though is an eatery on site.

Stayed here for two nights room was as expected in a Premier Inn but our view from the room was a brick wall and the pub/restaurant closed at 9pm we arrived at 6pm so when we finally got checked in and showerd we didn't have much time to eat then couldn't relax and unwind in the bar with a bottle of wine as they were closing....sorry but if you have residents stopping then the bar/restaurant should stay open and there is no lift up to the upper floor in the hotel, will never stay here again, Bishop Auckland Premier Inn is far better would recommend anyone to stay there.

Food nice as always, tried the beef burger this time and would order again. I didn’t get the onion rings though, only noticed them missing from the order when I got home.

Great social club, the patrons of the club and the staff are very welcoming to newbies highly recommend you come along and become a member, and they have plenty of additional events going on... Especially on the weekends with live music acts....... Come along and enjoy

Very untidy, litter all over the floor, empty glasses and plates just left on tables and unfortunately the food wasn’t great and over priced.

Ended up here after some searching around; because of the time of day. Food was good enough, but the guy that served us was really nice; bit of a chat while serving and a chat at the end of our visit; makes a difference.
