Outstanding Stay at Premier Inn Durham City Centre (Walkergate)! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Alison and Michael, who made me feel right at home with their friendly and professional service. Their hospitality set the tone for what turned out to be a truly wonderful stay. The food was absolutely delicious—from a hearty, well-cooked breakfast to a delightful dinner, every meal was a treat. The service from Amy was exceptional; she was attentive, efficient, and always had a warm smile, ensuring that everything was perfect throughout my stay. The comfort of the bed was second to none, providing a restful and peaceful night’s sleep. Combined with the hotel’s beautiful surroundings in such a fantastic location, it made for an unforgettable experience. I will certainly be booking this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Durham. If you’re looking for excellent service, comfort, and a great location, Premier Inn Durham City Centre (Walkergate) is the perfect choice!

Lovely modern hotel, great shower. Nice and clean and very quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Checkin opens at 3pm. Refusing to check people in at a quarter to three but guy is sitting doing nothing at the desk. Terrible service.

Had a lovely stay, premier plus room was nice although not as nice as the one we had in York. Friendly staff and great breakfast.

It's a lovely hotel with really nice rooms. The breakfast is decent, too 👌🏼 All staff were very friendly. They had an issue with their door cards not working and the team did a great job of letting people up and into their rooms. It's a shame that they were left having to do that for all the time that we were there. Great work from a no doubt undervalued team.

Excellent location for city centre, premier plus room definitely has advantages such as a free box of chocolates for our valentines stay, comfy beds. Only downside which (again) has happened for us in our 3rd location of premier inn is that the room card keys were not working for our entire stay, meaning everytime we left our hotel room we would have to manually have to ask a staff member to walk us back to our room like children to let us in. This went on for 2 days while we was there. In the end we got that annoyed with it we checked out early. Don't get me wrong we know stuff like this happens but this is the 3rd location of premier inn we have stayed in that has also had this fault.

We stayed in this Hotel June 2023 for our nephews graduation, its clean, staff friendly, and definitely in the right location. Ideal location for walking into the centre.

Great location, comfortable room. Great value breakfast and the staff were really friendly and very kind and helpful.

They don't tell you on the website that it's tricky to find by car. The approach road swings off to the left and ducks under the main road. Parking is not free but the next door car park is convenient and easy to use. They've an automated check in system at the hotel - it doesn't work. The staff are nice and helpful.

It's a Premier Inn, so you know it's going to be clean, have nice staff, and be on the comfortable side of functional. Staff are always so friendly and helpful.

First time visiting Durham and first time using Premier plus room..Very pleased on both fronts...Hotel right next to the town centre and all it's amenities...Car park right next door, £9:50 per day....500 spaces....Plus rooms are very spacious and come a fridge , iron board & iron and a voucher for the WiFi upgrade if required...Plus rooms are located on the top 4 th floor, so very quiet.

This was the first time that I had visited Durham, I went for my 50th birthday and had a great time, the hotel was great, the staff were brilliant too, very friendly. We did have an issue with the air con in the room, but other than that, a fantastic stay all round. Don’t forget to grab a ticket when you leave for cheaper parking if you parked in the car park next door. Also try the cocktails, great value and very very tasty.

It is a great place to stay here in a fantastic location. We were all extremely tired landing from a super early flight from London and Emma on reception bent over backwards to help us all with early check-ins. There is a £15 supplement for this on each room but all well worth it. Colleen at breakfast was so welcoming, as was Allison (not the Liverpool goalkeeper 😂) behind the bar. They made our stay so entertaining and The Premier Inn need to do what they can to retain amazing staff like these 3 wonderful ladies. Thank you all. We will be back

Lovely stay. Warm cozy room for an evening away with one of my daughters. Peaceful night, lovely clean room and hotel, and really helpful and friendly breakfast staff.

We stayed 2 nights. 21st to 23rd December. We had 2 lovely ladies(didn't get their names)on the afternoon shift that were friend and helpful. The location is reasonable. The room was very good.

Although we weren't staying here, we were able to leave our bags here for a couple of hours. Staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful – the very best ambassadors for the Premier Inn brand!!

I had a great stay at this hotel, made all the more enjoyable by the fantastic staff who were super helpful and flexible with storing my suitcase and interview encouragement. Thank you so much for your kindness (I got the job!)

I am laid in bed now drunk beyond my wildest dreams, the lady's on the reception have been nothing but helpful and accommodating even in my slightly intoxicated state. To call them professional would be an understatement. They helped my drunk self out for a cigarette and then pointed me in the right direction to my room on my return. The receptionists have been a credit to premier inn and are deserving of a promotion just as much as I'm deserving of the excellent breakfast provided to me in the morning.

I stayed just for a day and I was warmed by the hospitality of every individual working there. They are truly the sweetest bunch of people I've met and had the opportunity to interact with. They are superbly friendly, will give you great suggestions on exploring Durham and more than anything, are there to help you with the warmest of smiles. A big shout out to all the sweet humans who work here. You guys are awesome! ❤️

Nice hotel. The hotel is clean, and the service is good as well. However, you have to request room cleaning; they won’t clean the room automatically. It’s not like other hotels where they clean the room after you leave for a short period.

It's a Premier Inn. Good bar, comfortable rooms a reasonable menu. Service from the staff though was as good as most much more expensive hotels.

My stay at Premier Inn was absolutely wonderful! The comfort of the beds is second to none – I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. The rooms are cozy and well-appointed, making it easy to relax after a long day. But what truly sets this Premier Inn apart is the amazing, friendly staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone was warm, welcoming, and eager to assist with any request. Their genuine hospitality made my stay feel special. I highly recommend Premier Inn for anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay. Five stars all the way!

It was close to nearly everything there was a Tesco nearby and shops and restaurants

What a fabulous mid range hotel. Set in a prime location of Durham City centre with walking distance to every thing you in in the centre, shops, drink, food, on weekend there's a little market set on the cities square next door to the indoor Market. The breakfast has a good range of food, which is a buffet breakfast from the full English to the pastries, fruit, yogurt, and cereals all round lovely hotel

Been to a lot of Premier inn's and this is one of the best. Good location with easy access to the city centre and the station. Comfy quiet dark room, that's essential. Breakfast was good. Evening meal OK but limited selection. Only negative is the automated checkin kiosk. Even the very helpful staff couldn't get it to work. Dear Premier Inn, recognise you've been sold a pup and bin them PLEASE.

We didn’t actually stay here but we did stop by for a dinner. The food was lovely and the staff were great and friendly.

Clean, nice decor, great breakfast and a very comfortable bed. A good central location. The staff are excellent, very helpful, cheerful and friendly. A fantastic 2 night stay and I highly recommend.

I did not stay at this hotel, however the facilities look very good and in Durham at 8 p.m. It closes almost all the restaurants and I was staying in a hotel near this one and it was the Premier Inn that saved me from dying of hunger since there is dinner service here from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. a longer schedule than everyone else and that is a plus.

Great place, nice staff and bar was good as well.

On arrival there was a power cut, however the staff were very calm and patient. They welcomed us when the power came back on and helped with our luggage. They were very informative about things to do in the city and the service was always prompt. Our room was clean and spacious with all expected amenities and more, including an ironing board, extra pillow and fan.

My only issue was that my room was next to staff areas and was noisy in the mornings when they were in use. 😥

Great stay at this Premier Inn over Easter bank holiday weekend. Hotel is clean and modern. 2 for 1 cocktails after 5pm on an evening. We arrived 2 hours before check in and the staff happily looked after our bags whilst we went out for lunch. Allison was lovely and even gave our two little girls (6 and 3) a chocolate Easter bunny each, which they loved. Kim was also very friendly and helpful. We slept like logs, there was no noise from outside at all despite it being a very busy weekend. And the breakfast was lovely and great value. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel if you are heading to Durham.

Fine place for the money. Parking available to the rear with another provider. Prem Inn offer a current discount due to a joint venture with the car park provider.

Nos gustó mucho la atención del personal y la calidad de las habitaciones. Muy limpia y ordenada.

Only problem was the bar and restaurant was a building site so was unable to have breakfast and wasn't told this till we arrived.
