It was in a good location and the staff were friendly and helpful. But the rooms were outdated and had a foul odour. Would never come again only because of the room

We had a pleasant one night stay last weekend. Service at check-in was friendly, the room was clean and spacious and the restaurant was a much more modern and stylised than some other premier inns I've been in. Breakfast was decent enough. Good location for what we needed. We found the parking for guests at £8 for 24 hours a bit steep, but didn't really have a choice!

Myself and my partner stayed at this premier inn this week and honestly I just wanted to say that it’s the best premier in we’ve ever stayed in and the customer service was 5 star level! I work in customer service myself so I can really appreciate when staff of any kind of establishment are going the extra mile and these people deserve recognition! We were greeted on the desk by Lorna who was super helpful when checking us in and and so friendly - we bumped into her a few times during our stay and she was always happy to chat and help, she could not do more for us so thank you so much to her for all her help. In the morning we decided last minute to have breakfast at the hotel and this was not a problem, Lorna booked it in for us and made sure to ask if either of us wanted some vegan / vegetarian options cooking up, which we did as my partner is vegetarian. We really appreciated this small consideration of asking us because a lot of hotels and even restaurants can see the vegetarian options as an afterthought but Lorna told the member of staff in the breakfast area (who I believe is called Jordan but sorry if I got that wrong) who straight away went to put on some veggie bacon and sausages so my partner wasn’t having to wait long at all to eat, amazing service! Jordan was very attentive and friendly, coming over to bring our food and checked in regularly to make sure everything was right for us. He couldn’t do more for us truly and even notified us when fresh pastries had just come out of the oven so we could get some and they were so tasty! When I was at the breakfast counter I could only see scrambled eggs and I read on the menu that poached (my favourite) was an option so I called over the man in the kitchen who had prepared all the lovely food - Faizul and asked if poached eggs were an option. Faizul said it was no problem at all and delivered two poached eggs to our table himself a few minutes later and they were honestly the best poached eggs I’d ever had! The rooms were very clean and we saw the gentleman who had cleaned them - Mark outside our room who was very pleasant in greeting us. When we checked out I believe it was a gentleman called Dan who checked us out who had the biggest smile and wished us a lovely day. Lorna and Jordan were walking near the check in desk as we were leaving and both made an effort to say goodbye and wish us a good day and safe travels which was so sweet! We literally left feeling like it was the best customer service we’d ever had at any hotel, every member of staff made such an effort with us so we felt we had a VIP experience at a premier inn price! The whole experience blew our expectations out of the water. Worth mentioning as well that the downstairs of the hotel seems recently decorated and it has a lovely atmosphere for both checking in and eating in. Great location for getting into the city too. Cannot recommend this hotel more and we’ll definitely be staying there in the future next time we’re in Birmingham. Thanks so much to all the staff and their excellent customer service!

Was very happy with this stay for a concert in town. Check in was a breeze and the rooms were immaculate as always from premier inn. Nice modern and vibrant decoration on the ground floor with a cheeky bar tucked round the corner with a lounge area for meals/breakfast. Outside has a couple of picnic benches if you wish to sit outside and this hotel backs onto a canal which was a great spot for fishing the next day. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for one night to attend a conference at Millenium Point, which was about a 20 min walk away. The room was of a good size and had everything needed, clean but feeling a little tired and dated, it had hairdryer, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, my only gripe about the room was there was no plug near the bed for my phone. The bar and restaurant I would give high praise to, very modern feel, the staff were amazing in general service and also very friendly and helpful. The menu had plenty of things to choose from, and the food was great. I highly recommend the Torte! The buffet breakfast the next day was also fantastic, good quality food, and all the options you would expect (my plate didn't have beans or tomotoes just because I don't like them). There is a paid for car park, and close to bus and rail links. Lifts to all floors, easy check, can even self check in!

No issue with the room, staff, the hotel itself; all excellent. But it's absolutely ridiculous that as guest they charge £8 PER NIGHT to park there. Never have I stayed in a hotel, including other Premier Inns, and had to pay for parking. It's outrageous, and needs to be scrapped. Absolutely ridiculous that as a paying hotel guest, I'm expected to pay extra to park in the hotel car park.

The staff once again for Premier Inn were outstanding. They have been your best assest in all the premier inn I have stayed at. Unfortunately, your room (210) lets you down. The images show the mould and state of the bathroom ceiling. The extract fan dripped cold water all night, and the floor was soaking in the morning. Plus, you got dripped on when you stood at the basin. The shower pressure is abysmal. It took twice as long to shower, which nearly led us to being late checking out.

The room was clean enough. TV had no casting abilities, so it was commercial television or nothing. The internet was extremely poor. I'm assuming that's because they want you to pay for the upgrade. I didn't, so I can't comment on its capabilities. The guy serving for breakfast was extremely nice, helpful and aware, the stars are his alone. No option to pre-pay parking, so I had to do it in the morning outside in the cold prior to departure. However, as far as needing somewhere to sleep, it was more than adequate for this

I've been living out of various Premier Inns for the past month or so due to work, these being New St, Hagley Rd and Aston. I was working on Birmingham High st, this hotel is maybe a 10 minute drive or so, not far at all, close to the action but miles more peaceful then New St; I can say hands down Aston was the best one I visited. The room was spacious and clean, fairly standard as premier inn goes and is what I have seen achieved over multiple visits throughout the country. The food was brilliant, I stayed for 3 nights and had an allowance on my room. The Gammon was my favourite, so juicy and flavoursome! But what really set this one out from the rest was the evening staff, especially Tia. She was so polite and friendly, could not do enough for us and she is just such a superstar I couldn't thank her enough. Tia and her colleagues are an absolute credit to your business and are instrumental in providing a warm and friendly atmosphere to relax in.

The family room I stayed in could do with a refurb. Noticed a pissy smell as soon as I walked into the bathroom (looked clean but smell was noticeable). Barely any cold water comes out of the bathroom sink. The breakfast and reception staff were all nice and welcoming, except for one employee (short, middle aged, slightly chubby Mediterranean lady) who rudely refused to warm up my toddlers milk in a microwave where other staff had previously done so the day before without hesitation. Her attitude was very unhelpful. Location is decent. Plenty of parking for £8 a day on site. The family room I stayed in was outdated. The wall lamp was broken. Toilet smelt bad. I probably wouldn't book again if I'm honest. It was an OK experience but I've had much better from other Premier Inns. REFURB of rooms needed. The pics on Google make the rooms look much newer/nicer than they actually are.

Unsure what type of people this hotel is housing but kids running around everywhere, was in reception at midnight complaining about the room next to and above me, constant banging, not great when up early for work... not to mention kids outside with stones and I left with a long scratch to the rear of my car, deliberately done, cost to repair is £300 plus VAT. Won't be staying here again.

Not sure where to start from. Well squeeky floors all over, smells like a care home inside the room. The air-con smells horrible once put on. Very old and tatty and needs a very good refurbishment, no remote control for TV and one towel for two people. Staff are helpful but this review is clearly only about the place it self. Put into consideration its quiet far from the centre so please try and book something central to save yourself time.

We stayed here for 5 nights as we were visiting our son who was studying at nearby Aston University. The hotel is easy to find and get to. It has a spacious parking lot that can be used very easily. Checking in was done easily using the documents sent in advance by email at an information terminal in the foyer. Although it took a while because you had to enter the passport numbers using the touch display. But there was always someone at the reception and as soon as you hesitated a little or looked at the screen questioningly, support came immediately. Our room is on the 1st floor at the back of one of the canals. Chic and modernly furnished, the bathroom was sufficiently large, but with a bathtub that also had to be used as a shower. And the shower only has a rain shower head that is permanently mounted. I don't like that that much. But that's complaining at a high level! There are even extra USB charging sockets to the right and left of the double bed. There was a guest bed next to the window for the little boy and we had a large enough double bed. The mattress was quite soft, but I know that from other hotels too. I prefer to lie hard “on” the bed and not “in” the bed. There was also a kettle and coffee and tea to prepare yourself. We had booked breakfast in the morning and it was very, very good. Everything you would expect in England. Unfortunately no cheese and no cold cuts. But beyond sausages, scrambled and fried eggs, fried bacon, potato pancakes and baked beans, everything was there. Of course also different types of toast and coroissant. And muesli in a wide variety of variations. We were full every time! There was also a very friendly staff who showed us to the table in the morning and helpfully fulfilled all our wishes. In general, all the employees were very friendly and in a good mood. I really liked that! We also had dinner there on two evenings and they were the best and cheapest main courses we had all week! Burgers, fish and chips, chicken curry and beef. Everything was beautifully prepared in large enough portions for little money. I didn't expect that. Plus a cold beer, perfect. We're glad we chose this hotel. I can definitely recommend it!

Perfect location for my recent business trip, very close to the A38 Aston express-way.. My room was spotlessly clean, however the breakfast/restaurant area is in need of a refurbishment. My table at breakfast was sticky and my chair was stained with dirty fabric. The breakfast was lovely though and the staff were friendly and professional. I would stay again if I was working in the area as it is very good value for the money especially the BBE meal rate.

This hotel was a shambles. The hotel was running out of food by 830. It took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to get our desserts from our mains and wasn’t offered drinks once. We kept on asking the manager where our food was and he was just unhelpful, not understanding and dismissive of the situation.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and dining at its welcoming home-like restaurant. From the moment we arrived, Fern greeted us with warmth and ensured a seamless check-in process. Normally when I stay at a premier inn, I have always had a decent stay with decent nights sleep. This was the first time I was disappointed with a stay at a Premier Inn. Check in was slow as the member of staff who had the keys at the desk ready inexplicably had to disappear for 5 minutes at the back with them to them come back to hand them to me!? Secondly the shower wasn't working properly one second it would be hot then for some reason just go scolding hot before going hot then scolding hot again! But worst of all the air con unit sounded like a car engine at 5am which woke me up and meant I couldn't get back to sleep. Generally this hotel just seems runs down, the staff just don't want to be there. Location is very close to Aston university - about a 10 mins walk. Parking is £6 for 24 hours. But I can't in good conscience recommend this hotel.

My recent experience at Premier Inn, Aston Birmingham, was unfortunately subpar. Upon arrival at the restaurant. I found myself waiting for acknowledgment at the front desk for an unacceptable 10 minutes. The service continued to disappoint as it took an additional 20 minutes for my order to be taken, followed by a 15-minute wait for a simple drink. When it came time to settle the bill, I was left unattended with the bill on my table, forcing me to take the initiative to pay. The demeanor of the staff was disheartening, as they appeared disinterested and lacked enthusiasm. Furthermore, my purchase of the Ultimate WiFi service for £5 proved to be an additional frustration when I failed to receive a receipt. Despite efforts to resolve this with both Premier Inn and the WiFi service provider, I was met with a frustrating cycle of redirection. Overall, my experience at Premier Inn, Aston Birmingham, left much to be desired. It is evident that improvements in staff attentiveness, efficiency, and communication are necessary to ensure a satisfactory guest experience.

I found the waitress rude as she just did our bill and didn’t ask if we had any vouchers when we can to pay so when we did get the bill it was more than what we should of paid I challenged her about it when she said he hadn’t showed her the voucher then she went to check with a manager even though my partner told her it was a birthday voucher he had we won’t be returning for a while as we had to send the one meal back the manhattan calzone back I think the waitress that served us tonight needs more training on her customer service each time we have been it’s always been a problem with paying the bill x

Gone downhill. Advertise an open time of 6am but at 6:15 there's no breakfast or any other food available. Staff seem uninterested. Surely if a food premises advertises an open time of 6am then all of their products Is available at that time ready to be sold. It's called preparation. Not start cooking at 6am and turning Dissapointed customers away like myself. The previous shop on colmore row was always ready with delicious food on opening at 6am.
