Shabby, and they don't even provide free water. Security guard just grunted at me when I walked in, as it was a long drive down, and I didn't get there until after 10pm. Must have been the night shift

A relic of a place, stuck in the dark ages. Tried for 2 days calling the hotel, told on arrival that the phone number on Internet is temperamental! When I had got through had booked room on top floor and late checkout agreed for 3pm. None of this was actioned. Eventually given room on top floor - room overlooking back of pub (noisy early morning) when not even booked up. Ground floor rooms face onto car park and anyone can knock on window. Late checkout (not even until 1pm) was apparently not possible at that venue, then told £10 charge which I was fine with, then told not possible as hotel was full (which the manager agreed was a lie as I was able to book rooms online) Then 12:30pm was agreed, manager turned up at 12:26pm telling us to get out. Bizarrely, cleaner tried to get in at 9:45am. No hot water for bath evening or morning. Room stunk of Febreeze when we entered - which made me suspicious. Avoid at all cost.

Absolutely horrible service even for premier inn standard. This is a three star hotel priced at higher end but with incredibly awful room and service. We were greeted by a receptionist who spent a long time on her computer before giving us the key. The room was clean. No phone was present to call the room service. The stopper of the sink was stuck and I had to go downstairs to the receptionist who told me to use a spoon to open the sink as no maintenance is present there overnight. After attempting to open it and failing we asked the room service for help who did help open it after complaining its not her job.

We had a wonderful stay. Dave on reception was extremely helpful to us. He checked us in promptly and made our stay very pleasant and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble! The room was spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed in the room. We would definitely visit again and would highly recommend this hotel.

I would love to have given a higher rating because the staff are fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Rooms are in need of a refurbishment, which I was told was planned. Same the pub next door isn't part of the chain, so no breakfast. We had a Sunday lunch there and wished we hadn't.

Saran on the front desk was really helpful with checking in, he asked if I wanted a table for dinner or breakfast and pointed out the shops near the hotel. The room was ok but not the best for the price I’ve paid. The bathroom skirting boards where coming off and there Is a hole in the wood under the sink, the room size for a twin is big enough.

I recently stayed at the Premier Inn and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions and transportation. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with a very comfortable bed that made for a great night's sleep. The amenities were just what I needed, and I appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi and the option for a delicious breakfast in the morning. Overall, the Premier Inn exceeded my expectations. It offered great value for the money, and I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended!

After moving a two night stay over Christmas to Easter, only one of the nights was used towards the new dates. After discussing with reception, emailing guest relations for both premier Inn and Whitbread I got nowhere, didn't even get a response to my emails. Connected premier inn via their website but after many weeks of email ping pong they have stopped responding. If everything goes well this has been a good place for us the stay, my warning is that their customer service is appalling and that why I'm writing this negative review.

What we'd expect from a Premier Inn in terms of the room. There was a glitch with last minute booking the night before and only one of our 2 rooms booked but rang and spoke to a really helpful lady and chatted about our reason for our visit whilst she resolved the problem. Arrived that night to chocolate's and a lovely note wishing him all the best for starting his RAF training the next day. Above and beyond Bernie, very much appreciated, sorry for not reviewing sooner! Thank you

Had a super frustrating stay at this location. Our door key card began having issues the 1st night there and then it was an issue almost every single time we came back to our room. Every time we let someone at the front desk know they would just give us a new key and then pass the info on to the next person. They couldn’t find anything wrong which isn’t the receptionists fault but at the very least they could have offered a different room to us or called a maintenance person? Or offered something other than “sorry”? It was hugely inconvenient and really affected our stay. Very much would not reccomend this location as the workers just do not care at all.

It's OK. It's your typical older style premier inn rooms that honestly a refurb to bring it up to date will fix. I think the worst part is probably the bathroom, the shower is poor and slow, the tap for the sink has very little water flow rate and is like a sprinkler and the toilet just doesn't flush properly. The tissue roll is the Kimberly Clark dispenser and is as cheap as it gets, so much so we made a stop to Tesco and got some real toilet roll as we were staying for several days. However, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. It just needs an update at some point.

I will regret my stay at this premier inn. First of all, the photos on google do not reflect of the reality of the room, the photo made it look way too nice compared to the room. Secondly, we requested house keeping and it never happened as one of us had to go and pick up towels from reception. Thirdly, you couldn’t fully open the windows and in the summer it was boiling in the room since the fan did create any air and was super dusty and a bright light shined into our room at night. Also, the car park was filthy and had rubbish everywhere. The only plus of the hotel was the restaurant but it’s technically a different establishment.

Someone with less boots running a marathon in the room above. I know this isn’t the hotels fault but the 1 star is for the fact I have medical needs. I sleep on a respirator and there are no plugs near the bed meaning I had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed so kept losing my pillows. That coupled with the marathon runner made a very bad night. Furthermore, half the usb sockets in the room were broken making it impossible to charge anything. I stay in premier inns all over the country, this is close to the worst one

Spent a week at the hotel and it as a nice place to stay. The room was clean and tidy and has all that I needed in the room. The staff were super helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The staff member that helps me with my room extension and taxi was absolutely brilliant. The only thing to note is the hotel itself serves no food at all but the pub next door has a good menu. The only issue being no breaky during the week. I've given it three stars for location as everything is at least a 30 mins walk away so bring some essentials with you. Definately a nice clean place.

Stayed for one night. Lovely staff, really lovely people on day and night shift. Room was not clean, bedding was dirty and bathroom was not very nice. I’d say if you’re crashing here for the night due to work, not the worst option but would not advise for anything other than that.

Stayed here for 1 night. TV in room wasn't working so we moved to another room which was fortunate as the first room smelt musty and was far from inviting. The staff are friendly and dealt with the situation well. The hotel itself is in need of updating especially in the rooms as they are very worn and tired in places. My overall impression is Premier Inn have let standards slip salt this location, nothing like what they advertise. There is no breakfast served here but the adjoining pub serves a nice breakfast.

This time I went to Rumsey's with just my wife although I have been several times with other members of my family since I make a point of going every time we visit my son in Tring because I love the place so much. I haven't tasted such delicious drinking chocolate anywhere. It is always so rich and velvety. I adore the stuff and, I think, could very easily get addicted to it! In addition to the actual drink they give you a very delicious little biscuit to accompany it. Every time we go, we buy some to make up at home and I can tell you it doesn't last for long - well not long enough anyway. The café itself is not very big but there are tables outside if the weather is good. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and they also sell very tempting cakes and chocolates and some savouries. Parking in Wendover is very easy and the town centre is worth a visit in its own right. I urge you to go.

First visit. I love pies and had wanted to visit this pub for ages. I would love to have given more stars but was so disappointed that even though it was early evening my choice of pies were out of stock. Only about 6 pies available from a wonderful menu. For starter we had the vegetable soup and prawn cocktail - both very good. My husband had the fillet steak for his main course which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had my fourth pie choice option Chicken and Mushroom Pie. Unfortunately I felt the pie was overbaked as the top pastry was extremely hard and I could not cut through it or eat it. The chicken and sauce was delicious but could not see much evidence of mushroom. The vegetables and chips were cooked to perfection. Service was fantastic. The place itself looked as though it needed updating but definitely had character. The pub car park was a nightmare getting in and out. It did not help that someone had parked in the Exit so we had to leave by the Entrance! Would give it another try in the future.
